Theme of the box
So, this month’s theme is ‘Marhaba’ which is the Arabic word for ‘Welcome’- a very clever play on words for their introductory box! This box includes the main things you will see and/or experience when visiting someone in Arabia. Usually this box would contain 6-8 items, but this month they have included 11 items – this is because Arabs are known for their generosity and for giving gifts to their guests and visitors.
The box itself is a large beautiful orange box adorned with middle eastern patterns running along the side. The products come covered in orange crepe paper and sealed with a sticker with the box logo on. Marhaba is inscribed inside the opening of the box in both English and Arabic and their social media details. As well as a contents card and a welcome card every item is delicately bubble wrapped to prevent breakage. On the contents card the Arabic translation for each item is also provided which is such a lovely touch and gives you a real feel for this box. The Arabic translations have been included below.
What’s in the box?
Dates or ‘Tamer’
Dates, as well as being tasty are said to have many health benefits. They are also rich in several vitamins, minerals and fibre. There are so many different ways to enjoy dates, I’ve used them to make chutneys in the past although on this occasion I wanted to enjoy them as they were. These dates sourced from Saudi Arabia are plump and moist and they taste deliciously sticky and sweet. Although not in their original form but compressed to form a bar I still appreciated that as they can be quite messy and sticky to handle.
Background info: Dates are always offered with coffee and tea as a healthy sugar replacement.
Arabic coffee or ‘Gahwa’
As you all know I am not a fan of coffee however luckily for me my partner loves the stuff! He said this coffee was different to anything he has ever tasted, spicy and fragrant yet still delicious with strong notes of cardamom and cloves.
Background info: Arabic coffee or Gahwa is a drink served when welcoming guests in Saudi Arabia and in the Arabian Peninsula. Commonly called the “welcome drink“Gahwa has been a symbol of generosity and hospitality to the Arabs and almost every Arab family has Arabic coffee in their homes.
Coffee cups or ‘Fanajeel’
These cups are extremely cute! So small, dainty and eye catching with their colourful yet stylish design. Perfect for serving gawah!
Background info: Traditionally, the small cups are filled no more than halfway. While Arabic coffee is traditionally made without sugar, it is served with something sweet, like dates. Milk is not added to Arabic coffee, if you prefer adding milk to yours, keep in mind that light roasts in particular are best without milk. Use your right hand to pour, receive and drink the coffee. In Arab culture it is considered rude to drink with your left hand. A guest should always accept at least one cup, and it is customary to drink at least three over the course of a visit. Swirl your cup to indicate that you’ve finished, this lets the host know you’re ready for more or alternatively shake your cup from side to side when done drinking otherwise the host will keep serving!
Coasters x 2
This is probably one of my favourite items in the box. Decorated with two different camel depictions, this pair of stunningly designed coasters is sure to brighten up any home! Good solid quality too.
Saffron tea or ‘Chai zaffaran’
I have tried many different types of teas in my time but I must admit I’ve never had saffron tea. It is very uplifting and soothing with a mild taste. I really liked it!
Background info: Tea is an important drink in the Arab world and is usually served with breakfast, after lunch, and with dinner. For Arabs, tea denotes hospitality and is typically served to guests. It is also common for Arabs to drink tea with dates, which acts as a sweetener. It owes its popularity to its social nature; tea is one of the most important aspects of hospitality and business etiquette in Arab culture.
Incense or ‘Bukhoor’
On opening this box, a strong exotic aroma wafted out and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bukhoor was the culprit. On burning, the smell intensifies. It is absolutely amazing and is very long-lasting scent. This made my home smell like a Sultan’s palace!
Background info: Bukhoor is the Arabic name given to scented bricks or a blend of natural traditional ingredients; mainly woodchips soaked in fragrant oils and mixed with other natural ingredients. These scented chips/bricks are burned in charcoal or incense burners to perfume the house and clothing with the fragrance rich thick smoke. It is customary in many Arab countries to pass bukhoor amongst the guests; this is done as a gesture of hospitality.
Incense Burner or ‘Migbas’
Decorated with pretty jewels around the outside, this is such an eye-catching middle eastern style incense burner, not like any I have seen here. A really good size, not too big or bulky and perfect to keep on a shelf, out of the way to prevent being knocked over.
Background info: Arabs use Bukhoor to make the rooms smell nice before visitors arrive. They also pass the migbas around to guests before they leave.
Tongs or ‘Migash’
Used to handle the incense when alight
Rose water sprinkler or ‘Marash’
An interesting device, not like anything I am familiar with but a good excuse to look up and research! Lightweight and easily to take apart and put away. Rose water is first poured into the bottom compartment with the narrower part then screwed now. Shake to sprinkle rose water – easy! Like a watering can but for hands.
Background info: Arabs are well known for their traditional hospitality and will go out of their way to treat you like royalty when you visit their home. One of the most charming customs involves using rose water.  When a guest enters an Arab house, the first thing the host does is sprinkle rose water into their palms as a way of saying ‘welcome’. They do this with an elaborately carved rose water sprinkler. Rose water is again sprinkled onto the hands after food to remove any lingering smell of food.
Persian rug mouse pad
Very bright and colourful and feels as soft as silk. As well as a mouse pad this makes for a nice decorative piece.
Background info: A Persian carpet or rug is a heavy textile, made for a wide variety of utilitarian and symbolic purpose, produced in Iran (historically known as Persia), for home use, local sale, and export. Carpet weaving is an essential part of Persian culture and Iranian art. You will find these rugs in every Arab home.
Evil eye beads
These are so beautiful and delicate, and one of my other favourite item in the box. Being Asian I am all too familiar with the evil eye and warding off what we call ‘nazaar’ or ill intent. When I go on holiday I do buy jewellery depicting the evil eye so this will fit in nicely with my collection.
Background info: The evil eye is said to be a gaze or stare superstitiously believed to cause harm. The belief in the evil eye dates back almost 3000 years to ancient Greece and Rome. The symbol and superstition of the evil eye is one of the strongest symbolic images in the world. Yet, despite the differences in the cultures which hold the evil eye myth, it retains largely the same meaning no matter where the story is told. The evil eye is thought of as a look given to inflict harm, suffering, or some form of bad luck on those that it is cast upon. It is a look which clearly states that one intends for something bad to happen to the object of one’s focus, either out of jealousy or pure malice.
Overview
This box is so unique and so different to anything I’ve ever seen on the market. Such a wonderful concept to bring a little piece of the middle east into western society. There are so many good things about this box, like the Arabic translations and how all the pieces in the box go so well together. It is really well thought out. You can see the attention and care put into this box coming from Bahrain not a single item was broken or damaged because of how well they had packaged and wrapped all the products. It was also educational as it gave me incentive to look into the background of some of them items the main thing I learnt – Arabs are all about hospitality! The products come from all over the middle east for example the tea is a product of Iran and the coffee a product of Kuwait. This box is an exciting way to bring some diversity and culture into your life.

A huge thank you to Hilary from The Cambridge Box Company, who not only offered to send me some of her stunning products to review, but also kindly posted them to my holiday cottage in the Cotswolds.
I love a good unboxing, and this is never work to me, it is a passion. So I was delighted when the Royal Mail van showed up on Monday morning (recorded delivery) with a big brown box for me! The parcel was double boxed, I am always a fan of that if there is a very pretty box inside to protect. There was a glossy gleaming white one on this occasion, beautifully branded with their very glamorous and chic looking logo.
I had to wait patiently all day, and I did not peek. This is really hard for me to do too! I got a whiff of what I suspected was a scented candle even from the outside of the box. The package was extremely heavy, always a good sign too.
If you missed my live unboxing all the way from the Cotswolds, you can watch it back here…
The Subscription Box options are as follows:
Home Fragrance Discovery Box – £59
Reed Diffuser Box – £25
Candle Box – £22.50
Shipping is £4.80 flat rate for each of these options.
You can receive them monthly or quarterly, they are sent out on the 1st of each month, or every 3rd month; which is the same time as you will be charged for the box.
What did I receive?
Sprited Reed Diffuser – RRP £29
Green Irish Tweed Candle – RRP £25
Black Pepper Room Spritz – RRP £15
Small Candle (free gift) – scent number 3, Pomegranate Rouge
Total RRP of £69! So thats £10 more than the cost of the box, plus a little freebie!
So lets talk about these beauties. Firstly you will notice the matte black packaging, with foil gold. I did smile at this, as the man of the house is a huge fan of understated but elegant looking packaging. Needless to say he was very impressed. If you know a man who is into home fragrance these could even be gifted to them; it is very unisex.
I was blown away by the sheer quality of these products. I have genuinely lost count now of the amount of things I have tried over the years; not just in collaboration, but ones I have purchased. I have a WoodWick, and can compare that to these. These are a much higher standard. The weight, quality of materials and packaging. Of course I do need to test them out to see how they work for their intended use; but if first impressions were marked I would give these a 10/10!
So we will go by the order in which I tested these. First was the Green Irish Tweed Candle. I will just leave these photos right here…
Ok, my work here is done, they should be enough to make you buy alone. I am in a barn conversion, the living room ceiling is as high as a church, and I tell you this can be smelt in the entire building. In fact if I open the door the neighbours will get a free whiff too! Ha!
It is a 30ml hand poured candle, using a blend of premium natural waxes, including coconut wax. As the card suggests it really is a cross between musk and citrus. It gives you a kind of old-fashioned homely feeling, which is perfect given my surroundings.
The burn time is approximately 40 hours, which is a very long time! I will let you all know how I get on there.
The next product I tried is the Black Pepper Room Spritz. I have to say, this is the type of fragrance you would use in a bedroom, but that is not a negative. It is very masculine but romantic. You can really smell the bergamot. My partner Rob absolutely loves this. He said it is nice for the bedroom not to smell too feminine. I presume he means my perfume.
The bottle is going to last for ages, 2 small sprays filled the entire room and I could still smell it the next morning.
The small candle was a free gift with this box. This is a scent that was numbered, and to find out which one you had been given you had to visit a special area on their website. This is a fun and unique idea. I guessed mine correctly, it is Pomegranate Rouge. I love this, it is so sweet and fruity with a tinge of floral. I would definitely buy this in a bigger size.
The last item is the absolutely stunning Spirited Reed Diffuser. I cannot bring myself to use this here, as I really want this in my living room at home. It is so expensive looking, the frosted black glass and gold lid, and the black reeds. I have never seen one like this. It would make an amazing gift. I think when you hold it and see, it is worth every penny.
The scent is so relaxing and soothing, and as the card suggests, sensual. It is the kind of fragrance that will really help me to unwind after a busy day. So I have boxed this back up to take it home with me to use.
My Verdict?
What can I say, this box is a fragrance lovers paradise! It is really the higher end of the market, but as the same time I would pay that in the shop if I was to physically see these items, as you can tell they are worth that price tag once you do.
I know some people who pay twice this for certain high-end brands, who could save themselves a small fortune by switching to these.
I really want to try the more fruity fragrances from this brand, as I have three storeys in my house and my upstairs is my retreat. I do not share that with my children, I mean we have to have somewhere to escape from them right?
We have been given an exclusive discount code which is:
Boxession10
This will give you 10% off all subscriptions, and all products from their Website (link below). I have also included links to all of their Social Media.
I hope you enjoyed reading this review, just a shame we can’t provide smellovision!

Never in my life have I been so excited to receive a box that is not full of food or skincare! BrushBox has had me excited since I spoke to its founder Mike Donovan on the phone.
I am a busy mum of 2 boys, my partner works 300 miles away, I run his business and also BoXession is a full-time thing for me at the moment. I love my life, but I tell you, anything that can potentially make my life simpler makes me all giddy! I have spreadsheets, a planner and a calendar with reminders. So a box that means one less thing to remember has already won me over, and that’s before it has even landed!
It came in a grey plastic posting bag, and inside were 2 boxes. One blue and one pink. The pink one was a bit bigger. When I spoke to Mike about reviewing for him, he explained that the children’s brush would likely be a bit small for my eldest, so he kindly sent me a 2 person box (1 Adult, 1 Child) for Archie and I, and the single box is for Joel (age 10).
It is worth mentioning that if you were only ordering one box, they would fit directly through your letterbox, so no red card of doom, ha!
I unboxed live, I always like to gauge an honest reaction. If you missed it, you can catch it by pressing play below…
If watching that was not enough to make you click buy, then read on and you will…
So what was inside my boxes?
Joel’s Box:
1 Adult Curved Bamboo Toothbrush
2 months supply of Toothpaste (2 tubes)
1 Floss
1 Tongue Cleaner
Total = £5.50 per month (£10.99 payable every 2 months)
Archie & I Box:
1 Adult’s Smooth Bamboo Toothbrush
1 Child’s Curved Bamboo Toothbrush
2 months supply of Toothpaste for 2 people (4 tubes)
2 Floss
2 Tongue Cleaners
Total = £5 per month (£19.98 payable every 2 months)
How many in your box?
I’m flying solo – £3.50 per month (£6.99 every 2 months).
Just the 2 of us – £3 per person per month (£11.98 every 2 months).
A funky 3 – £2.75 per person per month (£16.47 every 2 months).
An awesome foursome – £2.50 per person per month (£19.96 payable every 2 months).
Brush Options?
Pure – A modern twist on an old classic.
Smooth Bamboo – Eco-friendly and ergonomic – + £0.50 per person per month.
Curved Bamboo – Sleek & stylish – + £0.50 per person per month.
Optional Extras
Add some funky floss! This ranges from 75p – £1 per person per month.
A Talented tongue cleaner! This ranges from 75p – £1 per person per month.
Both of the above, between £1.25-£1.50 per person per month.
The first thing that catches my eye with these boxes is just how professional the entire package is. From the printing inside the box lid explaining how to brush your teeth correctly, to the fact that every item is boxed and branded with their logo. I love all of the different colours. It makes what can become a mundane everyday chore really quite fun!
I actually think these may last longer than the 2 month, I mean just look how many toothpastes I have…
I am also a huge fan of how fabulous my new brush, tongue cleaner and toothpaste look in my en suite, as they match and I am slightly OCD.
I have never used a Bamboo Toothbrush, but I can safely say that I will be from now on. I have already been eyeing up the purple one on their website.
The toothpaste actually tastes really nice! I was surprised, as lets face it sometimes they are just yuk. The tongue brush I have never used before in this design, but I also really like this. It is so easy that is just stands next to my brush so I don’t forget to use it. I am still struggling to floss once a day, but this is more of a time constraint than anything else really. I am always in a rush!
Archie loves his little brush, and I think that having a new one land every 2 months makes it very exciting for younger ones. He is old enough to know what it is for, and seemed quite impressed that the postman brought him a new one.
Joel could not get his head around why his brush is not plastic, so he donated his bamboo one to Rob. He says can he have a plastic one next time. This is not a negative towards brush box, Joel is ASD so can find change really difficult to deal with. He is using the tongue brush though as it is plastic so that’s ok (he says).
Our Verdict?
This is going in my April Fave’s live at the end of the month. I am really impressed with the whole process. The website is simple, sleek, and professional. The company is owned by one man who is passionate about what he does. Would I subscribe? I absolutely would! I also have to mention their Instagram, I have popped a link below, their feed is really fab. Hats off to whoever does the photography.
I am a huge fan of small businesses, you will often hear me say this. There is one difference with BrushBox, I don’t think it will stay small for very long!
Don’t forget to use our money off code which is:
BOX5FREE for £5 off!!
This means you can get a single person box for as little as £1.99, and postage is always FREE!
Thank you for reading my lovelies, the links are below to order…

Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you to Estee from Masktime for sending me this gorgeous box to review and for the exclusive 15% discount code SAM15
Masktime (if you haven’t already guessed it from the name), send you a selection of Korean masks and the occasional k beauty product every month. Being a huge mask addict I love this box!
Don’t believe me you can watch my live unboxing here…
Every month they carefully curate a box to help give you the glow you need. Gorgeously packaged in a sleek white box with the Masktime logo and inside wrapped up in sparkly tissue paper was
A product booklet detailing all the goodies in the box.
Much needed as let’s face it few of us can actually read Korean, so this detailed guide helps us choose the right mask at the right time and use the mask the right way.
A thank you card
It’s always nice to feel appreciated for our custom and I truly believe Masktime do, little touches like this make me feel valued!
A card with tips on and the Korean word of the month, I love that they do this it adds a really fun touch in my opinion and help to expand my vocabulary.
A sample

I love trying new Products so this is a really nice touch, it allows me to try some awesome new k beauty and skincare treats with no regrets or price tag attached.
  BANOBAGI Baby Face Injection Mask
This 100% cotton mask wowed me, I thought a name like baby face was a bold claim but it really did leave my skin smoother and plumper than a baby’s bum. I even passed for 25 after using this mask, so a huge win in my books!
TREEANNSEA Carat Plane A280 Mask
This is one for the sensitive skin uses or the eco conscious, made completely of naturally derived ingredients! It’s hypoallergenic, free from parabens and has no synthetic fragrances! It’s another if my fave masks a cellulose, these feel more like a second skin to me,it left no sticky residue and I felt like my skin absorbed its complete awesomeness. Plus I felt a little smug knowing the mask was doing amazing things to my skin and no harm to the environment.
SCENTNCE Acidic Green Refreshing Sorbet Soothing Mask

MEDIHEAL Airpacking Mint Wrap Mask
This has to be one of my favourite masks in this months box and it’s not just the gorgeous metallic mint colour of the mask, it’s also a half and half Mask! My new obsession thanks to Masktime haha. This mask comes in 2 pieces top and bottom allowing more movement of the face. The scent was not to overpowering and the mix of sage, apple, mint extract, rosemary, peppermint and lavender soothed my sole as well as my skin. I noticed a huge difference in my pores I think it has something to do with the unique 3 layer air packing fabric system, whatever it is this mask is a form must repurchase!

This mask is made from 100% cotton and targets pigmentation, something my skin really does need help with!

JAYJUN Baby Pure Shining 3 Step Mask
I have to confess I am saving this for my next night away from home, it sounds amazing basically a whole skincare routine in a packet!
It has 3 steps:
Step 1 blooming essence – An after cleansing serum/ toner
Step 2 Baby pure shining mask – Made with damask rose water boasting to leave my skin vibrant and healthy
Step 3 hydro eye cream – A light cream that targets fine lines and wrinkles
As I said amazing for a night away and minimal so you can easily pop this one pack miracle into your handbag!
I think Estee really filled a gap in the market with Masktime! It’s my favourite goto box for skincare. I don’t know what my skin needs each month/ season but Masktime does.
I always get compliments about my skin after using that masks and I love finding new Korean brands.
Korean skincare and beauty are lightyears ahead of us and so hard to get your hands on over here. Thank you to the lovely Laura over at Pink Parcel for sending me April’s edit to review. I’ve been extra good and managed to avoid all spoilers to keep the surprise! For all those who have never seen Pink Parcel before and are intrigued……keep reading!
If you would like to watch my Daughter Kaitlen and I unbox live, click play below…
How much will I pay?
There are currently four membership options, all with free delivery:
Monthly – recurring payment of £12.99
3 Months – one off payment of £35.97 saving £1 per month
6 Months – one off payment of £64.95 6 months for the price of 5
12 Months – one off payment of £129.90 12 months for the price of 10
When will it arrive?
The beauty of this box is it works around you and your period. You can select when you’d like the box to arrive, ensuring you receive your sanitary products and feel good items at just the right time. The Parcel is also the perfect size to fit through most letterboxes and is discretely packaged.
What’s inside?
First and foremost, sanitary products! When joining Pink Parcel you have the option of selecting the type of products you’d like to receive – pads, tampons or a mixture. Not only that, you can also choose which brands to receive along with your favoured fit. I love the way in which this box is packaged, classy and discrete. A small pink cotton bag contains 6 of my chosen daytime pads along with 5 liners. A ribbon drawstring ensures nothing can fall out and in all honesty at a glance nobody would be aware of its contents. A grey box labelled ‘for later’ contains a further 10 daytime pads, you really do receive a good quantity! A smaller grey box, labelled ‘for night’, contains 5 nighttime pads from the very same brand. The sanitary products provided are based on an average 5 day cycle, this number is definitely sufficient for myself.
I’m sure I speak for all subscribers when I say my favourite element of this box is the ‘for you’ section. This for me is my little box of pampering goodies during Mother Nature’s regular visit.
GreenFrog Botanic Natural Body Wash in Relaxing Geranium & Peppermint 50ml Approximately £1.49 (300ml RRP £8.95)
As you may have seen on my live unboxing, I was surprised to receive a body wash. Mainly due to the fact that for some unknown reason they very rarely feature as a product within subscription boxes. This product however is a pleasant surprise and smells beautiful! I was expecting it to be very overpowering, not ok dissimilar to other peppermint shower products I’ve tried previously. Gentle on the nose, lathers up well and leaves the skin feeling clean and soft! This product proudly states it is cruelty free, another big thumbs up for protecting our furry friends!
Jelly Pong Pong Lip Scrub in Coffee+Coconut 10ml RRP £15.00
Who doesn’t love a lip scrub? The perfect way to smooth dry and chapped lips before treating them to some much needed tlc. Perfectly sized to fit in your handbag, this lip scrub smells lush! The sweetness of coconut, teamed with the bitterness of coffee, I couldn’t resist licking my lips after applying. The texture of this scrub makes it easy to apply, not as clumsy as some I’ve used previously. One product I’ll. Kat definitely be hiding from my daughter!
Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris Purse Spray 10ml, worth Approximately £20.00
This perfume smells amazing! Fruity with a floral note, it lingers on the skin and doesn’t fade like some. I’m a fan of fruity scents so this perfume is ideal, a perfect addition to my growing collection and fits into my handbag perfectly. This perfume can be purchased in various sizes, however the 10ml provided in this months box I couldn’t seem to locate online. The nearest size would be an 8ml purse spray with a retail price of £16.00.
Cocoba Orange Milk Chocolate x 2 bitesized squares, worth Approximately 50p
Yum! Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE chocolate! This chocolate is no exception with its smooth, orange, creamy texture – this rivals a well known brand. My only wish? There were more in my box! These chocolates were designed exclusively for Pink Parcel and although I’ve hunted high and low on the Cocoba website, sadly I confirm this orangey loveliness cannot be purchased. Do take a look at their other products however, they look just as scrummy!
The Beauty Crop Wing Woman Liquid Eyeliner 1.5g RRP £13.00
If you watched my live unboxing you’ll know I’m not a fan of liquid eyeliners, so gifted this product to my teenage daughter. After much oohing, ahhing, applying of foundation and eyeshadow…..the eyeliner was applied! Kaitlen was excited to try this product as she prefers liquid eyeliners, preferably the felt tip applicators, over others. Unfortunately, halfway through applying to her upper lash line the liner stopped working and had to be shaken vigorously in order to work again. Once working, application was perfect and provided a neat and bold lining of the eye. Tip : ensure you give it a good shake beforehand!
T Plus Multea Lemon and Peach Tea , worth Approx 25p (Box of 15 RRP £3.69)
I really wish I could have reviewed this product for you all but unfortunately this was missing from my Pink Parcel. Not a regular occurrence for this box, however I’m sure all subscribers will love this fruity sounding tea.
Beauty Pro Eye Therapy Under Eye Mask x 1, worth Approx £1.65 (Pack of 3 RRP £4.95)
I’ve seen similar under eye masks previously and been dubious as to how effective they actually are, preferring an all over face mask. I can confirm I’m officially converted and shall be purchasing these eye masks in the not so distant future! They felt a really good quality when removed from the packaging, applying under my eyes as directed. The directions advised to leave on for 20 minutes, however I was engrossed in a documentary and ended up leaving them on for nearly an hour! Upon removing, my under eye area felt slightly taught and smoother. In fact I attribute my nights sleep being a little better due to wearing these as I believe the cooling effect under my eye area felt rather relaxing! A definite purchase again and a surprising favourite from this months box.
Is it worth buying?
When totalled up this box value is approximately a staggering £51.89! Even when selecting the monthly subscription of £12.99, this box has paid for itself almost four times over. This in itself is an achievement, I love a box that can not only deliver in products but also in value. Pink Parcel repeatedly excel at providing a perfect selection of monthly treats, making it a worthy purchase in my opinion.

Arbre D’or Body Lotion 30ml RRP £3.50
Extremely nourishing and moisturising, this lotion will make your skin beautifully soft to touch with a noticeable difference in the condition and not to mention smelling beautiful!
Extras: Certificate of authenticity, 4 x samples, Simply Argan pen & Milk chocolate square.
** Total cost of products £105.50 saving you a whopping £65.50 **
What I thought
As the most expensive item in the box Simple Beauty De-crease retails at £49 and this one item is worth more than the box value alone! It has a soft rubbery feel to it but when applied is more like a balm texture and it feels like you’re applying silk to your face. Beautifully smooth and sinks into the skin wonderfully. Great with makeup but can also be used without for a smoother complexion. A little goes a long well so although small will last a while.
I have combination skin – oily T zone and normal/dry on the rest of my face. With the heating being on and the cold weather outside my skin has really been suffering and my cheeks have become very dry and flaky. No matter what I use nothing seems to help however, since using the SOS oil I have seen a great improvement in my skin! This oil has a very strong medicinal herb like smell, when applied isn’t greasy as other oils can be and absorbs really well into the skin. This oil has some great additional benefits for example good for bites and sunburn which, if proven effective will be part of my essential travelling bag!
Highly pigmented and extremely hydrating the ruby red tinted lip balm leaves my lips soft and smooth. This wouldn’t be a product that I would usually choose to buy as it is more expensive than other lip balms but having received it in the mystery box I’m thrilled to be testing it out and I love that it leaves a lovely orangey red tint on my lips.
Since receiving this box I have been using the Argan & Aloe Vera Hand Cream on a daily basis. This cream’s absorption is amazing. It leaves my hands feeling soft and moisturised without leaving a sticky residue. Instead of the usual twist cap this bottle has a pump dispenser making it easy and handy to apply. A very generous size too so should last me a good while.
Also included in this mystery box are two travelled sized products. Argan gold is a lovely body lotion which, like the hand cream this lotion absorbs into the skin really well but leaves a touch of golden shimmer on the skin. Arbre D’or body lotion is similar to the Argan gold but instead of leaving a shimmer this is fragranced with their signature fragrance Arbre D’or which leaves your skin smelling absolutely divine.
Verdict
This box is amazingly good value for money as buying the products would cost a lot more individually. The box contains very generous sized products and is worth more than double what you pay. It is one of the few boxes that caters to both men and woman, so makes a lovely gift for friends and family to experience. The quality of all the products is second to none. The fact that the company has batch tested and certified their products shows just how dedicated they are to ensuring they only sell the very best. Argan oil has such versatile uses and Simple Argan have utilised these uses in all their items as they have such a vast range of products from hair and beauty to children and men’s grooming range – there is something for everyone!

And the theme of this month’s Boxcitement is…
Globetrotter
This is not the first time I have reviewed for Deb and her Team at Boxcitement, it seems so long ago now that I last reviewed for them, but I never forget a good box! It seems that Boxcitement are just as busy as I have been, as their last two months boxes sold out, which is never a bad thing. I was pleased to be getting to review another box, not only because I loved it; but to see how far they have come.
I do follow boxes on Instagram religiously, this is one I always like to have a peek at, and to swoon over the spoilers. I tried to stay away this month, knowing that I would be getting it and wanting a surprise. I only managed to see one item from the box, which for me is good, ha!
The box landed last Saturday, straight through my letterbox. I agreed with Deb to hold off on the unboxing until Thursday though, so I had to get my son Joel to hide it from me so I didn’t give into temptation.
As usual there is a hand written note (I am a huge fan of the personal touch as you all know), they are still using the printed tissue I am pleased to see, and there are some gorgeous little gold heart tissue confetti. Every time I see the inside of this box it just screams perfectionist to me. I imagine each one being checked meticulously, there isn’t a single thing out of place. You almost feel guilty opening it!
So you can see my very first live unboxing for Boxcitement here…
Now into the box of goodies…
This months box has the following items:
A union Jack Felt Pouch to keep your sunglasses or phone safe on your travels
A pair of hand crafted drop earrings inspired by the Orient
A set of stylish travel postcards
A yummy chopstick set for your next takeaway
A cute Russian Doll keyring – lock your luggage and go!
A set of vinyl wall stickers based on traditional Portuguese azulejos tiles
A pair of lucky socks – making your next journey a bit more comfortable
The Earrings are so beautiful, I really like the way they are a clip as this makes it easier for me to put on as I struggle with butterfly backs. I will definitely be wearing these!
The tiles, I am unsure what to use them for. I am thinking I could make some drinks coasters out of them. I fo try to be crafty, so I will try my hand and let you all know how I get on.
The lucky socks have been claimed by me, much to my other half disappointment as he clocked those when I sent him the photos. He loves funky socks as you will have heard me talk about in my previous reviews.
I am impressed by the case, as I often do not carry my glasses case in my handbag as it is too bulky. This is perfect! It will fit in my bag with ease as it is so compact, and the inside will stop my Cath Kidston glasses from scratching. Possibly my favourite item in this box.
The Russian Doll keyring has to be my second favourite item, as I am already a collector. I have bags, shoes, brooches and jewellery already that have Russian Dolls on, so this could have been hand selected to suit me.
As promised I used the chopsticks with my Chinese Takeaway (it is Bank Holiday Weekend after all, any excuse). I struggled a little much to my sons amusement, and he had a go with them too. He asked me why people just don’t use spoons in China ha ha, he does have a valid point there though!
I really think that the postcards would be better used on my pin board. They are very positive and a good reminder of my upcoming holiday to Greece in May, which I am looking forward to immensely.
The biggest change to the box, is the new addition of the ‘Boxcitement etc’ leaflet. It contains info on the curation of the box, and how they came up with the idea. It also has a link to some free easter downloadable print outs. On the reverse there is even a sneak peek for next months box, which I have to admit I have been swooning over already.
The pricing of this Box depends on the length of Subscription:
12 Months will cost you £15 a month but you have to pay this upfront (£180).
6 months at £16 a month (£96 upfront), 3 months at £17 a month (£51 upfront).
Recurring monthly payments of £18.
All of the prices include P&P, so no extra hidden fees.
My Verdict?
Boxcitement have it nailed when it comes to their creations. Every item in the boxes are hand made/crafted, selected by them and you cannot buy them anywhere else. So you really are getting a box full of exciting goodies that you will have never seen before.
Their concept is unique, I do not know of another similar style box out there, and I make it my business to research them all. My list of UK boxes is over 600. So it is difficult to stand out from the rest, and Boxcitement does just that.
Every single element of this box is carefully thought out and planned, it is not just suitable for crafty people, but for anyone. I have not seen a box of theirs that isn’t suited to any age group either. I look forward to seeing more from Boxcitement, and I have thoroughly enjoyed reviewing them for the third time.
Thank you to all of my lovely members for reading,
Mel x

Firstly can we all just take a second to appreciate how pretty that box is! I’m still loving the updated design, they have now also made it more eco friendly as well, things like this show me a company really care.
Secondly I would like to say a huge thank you to Ryan from BathBox for sending BoXession this box to review as well as our exclusive, discount code bathbomb for a massive 20% off.
This is hands down one of my favourite boxes of all time! Being a busy mum and lover of baths it’s the perfect subscription. There is nothing worse than being able to steal an hour, wanting to relax in a nice hot bath and realising you have run out of goodies! lets face it the quick pop to the shop never happens, so having a themed box delivered to your door every month is a life saver.
Bathbox sends you 5 carefully curated treats each month to help you relax and unwind in the most luxurious way possible.
The quality of the items included are outstanding, the price is on point and this is a box I truly get excited about every month. The company also Really do listen to their customers by asking for regular feedback and running poles and giveaways on social media sites (you can find the links at the bottom). Each month the box is perfectly curated to a theme this months is island getaway, I don’t think there could be a more perfect theme for me haha.
The box design isn’t the only revamp, the product leaflet had an update this month and now includes all the ingredients for each item as well as clearer product photos and RRPs all on a cute design.
If you want to see me getting a bit to over excited over the new revamp you can check out my live here:
So inside my island getaway was:
Mediterranean Blue Bath Bomb
I still can’t get over the size of this it’s massive! It swirled around my bath forever,(ok slight exaggeration) Turning it into a stunning lagoon. It was like bathing in the purest ocean with the smell of fresh lavender growing around you. The perfect island getaway!
South Pacific Bomb
No photos I can take would do this Bomb justice, yet again it’s huge and danced around my bath in a sea green and coral delight. It was mesmerising to watch and left my skin feeling beach ready.
Leafy Mint Soap
I seriously had to resist seeing if this tasted like it smelt! It was like opening the wrapper on a very popular brand of gum. The mint really gives you a wake up call and adds a gorgeous wild scent to washtime.
Tropical Midnight Salts
These capture you and help you unwind in a deep mysterious summer night scent. Teamed with bubbles these make for a truly enchanted bath.
Tropical Rose and Mango Chill Pills
I love these they are perfect to pop in a travel bag for a little get away.
They smell fruity and flirty when teamed together. My bath put me me in the mood for spring even if the weather isn’t in the mood yet. And let’s face it you can never go wrong with extra bombs.
Cherry heart mini soap
This was an extra from one of the giveaways they run on Facebook, so keep your eyes peeled for them!
It’s the cutest soap to date! It smells mouth watering and looks fab in any room. The consistency is creamy and luxurious. It was featured last month and I’m glad I managed to bag an extra one this month.
This is the 5th Bathbox I have reviewed and they just keep getting better, I don’t even know how that’s possible! The different themes each month are curated perfectly! you can tell the creators of Bathbox care! The customer service is second to none! They are always super helpful if you have any queries and quick to reply. I honestly can’t see anyone disliking this box, other than the odd bath hater, Boooo! (Like how could anyone hate baths, puzzles me)
This is a box perfect for the young and the old and would make the most amazing gift.

Hello and welcome everyone, I have a wonderful treat for you as the box I am reviewing contains 5-7 full size products that are cruelty free, chemical free and vegan friendly. This luxe box is bi monthly, so if you take on a subscription you will get a box every second month. The Natural Wellness Box first theme is beautiful skin and the products are worth over £75!
The Natural Wellness Box arrived wrapped in brown paper with their logo sticker on one side and my address with fragile on it. The box was brown and plain but with the box logo/name sticker in the centre along with a bit of white string and a heart shaped piece of paper with thank you on it just made me fall in love with the box, as it has such a organic, natural, vintage and luxurious feel to it.
You can watch my unboxing video that was recorded live on the Boxession Facebook group here via our YouTube channel:
So, lets have a look at what’s inside this beautiful box!
Balm Balm little miracle rosehip serum 30ml – £14.50
Balm Balm pure essential oil 10ml – £6.15 (tea tree)
Balm Balm super light coconut cleanser 15ml – £14.50 (can only be bought in 100ml or in a Balm Balm starter kit that retails at £15.50 for 5 mini products and a muslin cloth in a cotton bag)
KIKI HEAL+H Alkaline Infusion powder 100g – £12.95

Pukka blackcurrant beauty 38g (20 sachets) – £2.49
SUPERFOODIO himalayan salted caramel 35g – £15.00 (6 packs in various flavours)
The box content is worth £95.59, that isn’t including all the delivery costs you would incur buying the products separately!
The Natural Wellness Box one off subscription costs £35.00 so you are saving a minimum of £60.59.
Natural Wellness Box Subscription prices are as follows:
Bi-Monthly – £35.00 bi-monthly
6 Months (3 boxes) – £95.00 making it only £31.66 per box
12 Months (6 boxes) – £195.00 making it only £32.50 per box
Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Serum
I absolutely love this product, not only does it feel amazing on the skin but the smell is unique. Very earthy, but in a super good way. It reminds you that your using a luxurious natural and organic product. Your skin feels rejuvenated, completely new as it feels so good in turn making you feel confident.
Balm Balm Pure Essential Oil Tea Tree
6 drops in my big warm bath and oh my I had to open the window as I felt far too relaxed! I love the smell so much as tea tree oil added to a bath has many benefits as you can research online.
Balm Balm Super Light Coconut Cleanser
Personally I can’t smell anything from this, but it works like a dream. I used this as a cleanser for morning and night, and also used it to remove my makeup. Only a few drops  are needed and you will be left feeling squeaky clean.
KIKI HEAL+H Alkaline Infusion Powder
This tasted a like fizzy citrus drink when the powder is mixed into water, so personally I liked mixing the powder in citrus juice drinks so it was sweet. This powder is full of minerals and vitamin C that has beneficial effects for health, function and appearance of skin, bones and teeth. I have felt better since I had my first glass of the alkaline infusion. I think I’m going to make some smoothies with this mixed in.
Guiltless Skin Nourish Organic body oil citrus fruits
This is my favourite product from the box, not only does it make me feel so pampered but also the smell is like sweet citrus heaven. The smell is exactly like my favourite coffee scrub Optiat Mouth-watering Mandarin so I use it in my shower, then soon as I’m out of the shower I apply this body oil all over my skin making me feel amazing. My skin is super smooth since I started using this. The blends of precious organic oils are prized for their beneficial properties and bursting with antioxidants to protect your beautiful skin.
Pukka Blackcurrant Beauty
This particular tea is not for me taste wise as it tastes like hot Ribena, and that just isn’t for me. The health benefits are worth the taste as all the main ingredients are high in minerals as well as vitamins (mainly vitamin C), so it breathes new life from the inside out. If you like blackcurrant drinks then you will probably like this too.
SUPERFOODIO Himalayan Salted Caramel
So I couldn’t smell anything when I opened this product, I decided to let my other half taste test this product first. When my other half tested it he wasn’t ecstatic as he described the taste more like a Turkish delight. So I had a little taste, and it is a unique taste as it’s a mix of turkish delight and burnt toffee/caramel. So unfortunately this was probably my least favourite product, but that’s my personal opinion. Warning this contains cashew nuts.
My Verdict
This Box is 110% a must buy as there are no faults, even the products I don’t like will be used/drank/eaten so nothing will go to waste. After only a few short days I feel absolutely amazing, like a new person; and I’m feeling ready for spring. This is definitely a steal price wise and standard delivery is free. This box is overflowing with high quality organic, natural, cruelty free, chemical free and vegan friendly products that make you feel good inside and out, helping you be more beautiful as being healthy makes you more energetic and confident making you look and feel more beautiful.

Firstly a massive thank you to Rowan and the team at Project Lingerie, and congratulations on your two-year Anniversary. I can see why you do so well.
Don’t forget if you missed my live unboxing of this amazing box you can watch it back here…
A bit of information from the company
“Lingerie is our passion. From elegant lace, to sensual silk and everything in between. How it makes you feel, and how amazing you look wearing it is what we thrive on. There’s no such thing as too much lingerie.
Our mission is to send you gorgeous knickers and lingerie every month, that make you look and feel special. Everything comes beautifully wrapped so it really is a monthly gift!
We offer 3 packages on subscription. The Basics include a monthly pair of cotton, microfibre or seamless knickers. The Pretty Everyday includes a monthly pair of lacy, frilly or colourful knickers (this is our most popular!). Finally, The Deluxe box is the creme de la creme. A monthly delivery of either a bra and knicker set, a piece of nightwear or an all-in-one. Sometimes we throw in a suspender and stockings. This box is the ultimate gift. The best part is, our service is completely risk-free!
We believe in supporting women by helping them feel confident in their own skin. Our brand logo was inspired by a curvy life model that we feel says ’embrace your curves, they’re sexy’.
Our founder, Rowan, has always been smitten with lingerie and her dream was to one day work for herself. After 12 years’ working in the industry, Project Lingerie was born.”
My box arrived via Royal Mail in a white bag to keep the box protected. Inside I received a beautiful black box with a gold ribbon tied neatly around it and a personalised note from the PL team, which you can see, pictured. I also received an extra gift to help celebrate the upcoming two year anniversary.
The extra gift is included for any subscription placed before the 6th of April, and it so beautiful its put a smile on my face. Wrapped in bubble wrap for extra protection was an elegant white plastic box with ‘a gift from the gods.’ in gold, inside is a silver Double Layer Chain Bracelet with Heart, Ball and Star Charms. If I was to buy this direct from their website it is £15
Inside the box was white tissue paper with PROJECT LINGERIE in gold and a beautiful gold sticker with the outline of a woman, which you can see in the picture below.
So what did I receive?
The box I received was the deluxe box. I received a beautifully soft blue loungewear set with gold a gold crown on the top and bottoms. The top is strapped and loose fitting, which is brilliant for lounge, wear with a gold crown in the bottom corner. The bottoms again very loose fitting and soft with a slit at the bottom so they don’t cling, the bottoms I believe should be ¾ length but because I’m a bit of a short arse they come up full size.
As soon as I came off the live I had to try them on, they are the most comfy pair of lounge wear (which for me will be pyjamas). I have never worn anything so soft, comfortable and light weight. For me this is something that is perfect.
I struggle with clothes and being comfortable; I tend not to wear anything to bed as I find them restricting, and the seams dig into my skin and cause pain. So I had to put these to the biggest comfort test I could, wearing them to bed. The outcome is I LOVE THESE!
The loungewear set to buy direct from the website would cost £30. So with the set and the extra gift I received it would have cost me £45 (without any postage)

Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you to Olivia from Curls Allowed for sending us this box to review.
Curls Allowed is a monthly subscription for us harder to cater for curly haired girls. They send you 4 carefully selected travel / deluxe sample sized items each month and the occasional full size as a treat.
I was so excited when this landed, if you have long thick curly hair like mine you will know how high maintenance it can be to care for, and finding the right products to aid our hairs natural beauty is a minefield. So is this box the answer to my life long quest for the perfect hair products?
It came packaged in a gold and white dotty Jiffy bag, I love it when companies care about the packaging it shows that, well they care! Opening that I found a sleek white box with a rose gold curls allowed logo on it. Unboxing I was met with a lovely hand written card detailing a bit about what the box was geared towards, and thanking us for reviewing, yet again it’s the little personal touches like this that show me a company cares!
This months box is all about the curly girl method, I am fairly new to this way of looking after my locks but I’ve heard it mentioned a lot recently and have been curious as to what it is, so I was even more excited to try it.
Hopefully in the baby pink tissue paper sealed with the Curls Allowed logo sticker are new miracle products to aid me on my quest to discovering why the curly girl method is so good!
If you missed me unboxing it live you can catch it here:
I found a lot of the things with the curly girl method like avoiding heat styling I already did naturally, but you also don’t shampoo or brush as it damages your curls. I’m not too sure how I feel about that but I’m willing to try anything at this point in my life to tame my mane.
So the product included to help me this month are:
KeraCare leave in Conditioner 60ml
I have long, long hair! And was sceptical about how long 60ml would last but surprisingly I can get at least 3 uses out of this. That gives me enough to see any benefits whilst following the CGM, and decide whether I want to repurchase the full size.
This is the first step after rinsing! The product smells really nice, and gave my hair bounce and shine. I don’t know what it is about the formula but it instantly defined my Curls when I applied it.
KaraCare Defining Custard 58ml
No I haven’t written that wrong and yep you read that right, Custard for your hair? I can honestly say I’ve never come across hair Custard, but in the pursuit for luscious locks I tried with an open mind. A little goes a long way with this product and it smells delicious. This was the second step for me and definitely helped to define my curls.
Trepadora Curl Therapy Açai Berry Fix Curl Defining Gel 100ml
I love using gel products on my hair! Ever since I was a teen it’s been my go to product as mousse on its own just doesn’t seem to hold and within 10 minutes I have frizz! But I do find a lot of gels to heavy for my long hair. I found this one very light weight but with good hold with flexibility and minimum frizz once my hair air dried.
Flora & Curl Hydrate Me Jasmine Oasis Hair Mist 50ml
Subscribers were given a choice of the flora & curl Mist or Giovanni Direct Leave-in-Conditioner this month and I’m glad I got this!
This lives up to its name and smells like a floral oasis, it’s a great way to breathe some life back and moisture into your hair throughout the day. I think it’s a good size and will last me a while! Hair needs hydration as much as the rest of our body does and this is the perfect solution to pop in my handbag and use on the go as well as being a quick fix on rushed mornings.
Trepadora Curl Therapy Leave in Curl Primer 20ml
This was an extra sample sachet included this month, I’m glad it was! This is on my must repurchase list. Another product where a little goes a long way and I felt it worked well with the gel fighting frizz and keeping definition in my hair. A hair primer is a brilliant thing I mean we prime our face to help protect our skin and give our make up the perfect base; it just makes sense to do the same for your hair.
Tumblr media
I think Olivia has filled a huge gap in the subscription box market with Curls Allowed! The concept of being able to try new things specially developed for curly hair every month is brilliant and much needed in my opinion. Shopping for hair care is a nightmare and you can drop a pretty penny or two on products that end up in the bin because they just don’t work for you. The sizes in the box gives you enough to find out if you like a product without the huge outlay and it becoming wasted if you discover that one is not for you.
The basics like the leave in conditioner are reasonably priced if you want to purchase the full size and the exclusive discount codes on the full sized products included is a brilliant touch. I have tried the CGM and I don’t think I can go forever without brushing my hair but I’m glad I’ve tried it, I can definitely see the benefits and the appeal. The great thing about the products included this month is they are perfect for curly hair if you don’t follow the CGM and safe if you do.
Instead of fighting my hair this box has helped embrace and enhance my hairs natural beauty. My hair is more defined easier to manage, less frizzy and I’ve been asked several times if I’ve been to a saloon since using the products.
I have found some new cult products in this box, a lot are vegan friendly as well! Whether you have waves, curls kinks or coils this box is a must and it comes highly recommend from me. I mean just look at these amazing locks compared to my hair on my live, definitely a few miracle products in here!
So let’s scrunch the numbers (pun intended)

My Verdict
I absolutely loved unboxing this box as it was so bright and beautifully packaged. They even have the best before date on the top left corner inside the box. I enjoyed getting to have fun baking again, I also didn’t have to fork out a fortune on ingredients to then be left with bulky boxes at the end full of ingredients I may not use again. BakedIn had all the ingredients I needed and the rest I already had in my fridge this meant I could just bake away. The steps where perfectly timed as it gave me enough time between steps to get my 2 year old ready for bed and stay with her until she fell asleep. After the chocolate ganache had set, I took pictures obviously and then cut a slice for my other half so he could taste test for me.
My other half Ryan said it was delicious and described it as fluffy and the next day my future father in law gave the same description of this cake so I decided it was time to try a bit myself.
How to describe this cake… Fluffy and creamy all at the same time, the cake to butter cream icing & chocolate ganache ratio is just simply perfect and divine. The cake reminded my other half of the large chocolate cake from the much-loved family film Matilda that was originally written by Roald Dahl. I keep wracking my brain trying to think of the word that could explain how delicious this cake is, my 2 year old daughter Ariana-Joy decided to try a little bit and to our surprise she didn’t put any her hair but ate the whole little piece of cake.
