what a lark.

angel has been loved by people all their life! their father, their mother, their dear younger brother! their ex boyfriend, their ex-ex boyfriend, their ex-ex-ex- you get the point.

they even have a darling husband who is the alpha of the strongest pack in dahlia yet when they look in the mirror? all they see is a weak broken body left to rot by god himself which shouldn't matter to angel as they stopped believing in god the moment the church shunned 12 year old them for walking with a mobility aid they needed.

telling them "It will get better." or "God will cure it." yet what did god do? left their soul to rot in a pound of useless flesh yet even then they can't say they hate god because god was what gave them their darling husband, the one who loved their body and whispered it even when he thought angel was asleep,

yet angel knew deep down they weren't no angel, would god treat his own like this? the ones who serve him for their purity? no he wouldn't which is why angel thinks Everytime they look in the mirror that they are a demon crawling up the depths of hell of a broken body they didn't ask for.

sometimes they see the old claw marks of the past, of the younger stronger them who tried to fight the inevitable.

on their wrists? and thighs? the ones their husband kissed? it didn't matter they couldn't escape from the husk of a scarred broken dry clay body that hadn't been finished molding right by the hands of a god who crafted the same stars they looked at every night.

they could only stand in the mirror looking at the person they used to be before it all happened bang on the broken mirror screaming so loud for freedom that it almost made them pass out but what's one more injury to a trashed body that would be thrown away to the pits of hell at the end of their life?

as they start to think

'Should i claw my way out?' their darling husband, david, the alpha of the shaw pack walks in.

sliding his hands around their waist to ground them, he knew they were hurting.

kissing their temple as angels glazed over watery eyes clear up..turning to look at him knowing they were safe and the demon of their injuries and scars quieted down knowing they weren't alone.
