This was different. Usually when I wake up, taking that first breath, its a scramble of lights and hands before finally being held by my mother. Or sometimes I never meet her due to some complication or another. But my constant after all of these years are that I’ve been born.
Waking up in a dumpster is not what I was expecting when I entered this world. More than that, waking up as a fully grown adult, dressed and already body aching with age. What was going on?
The dumpster was dark and quiet and smelt like hell. It was warm and I was starting to get uncomfortable, so it was definitely time to move. I was wearing thick boots, faded pants, a white beater tank top and by my side was a backpack.
This was really weird.
Climbing out of the trash, the clean air was a relief to my lungs. My body ached from laying in the trash; I don’t know how long this body was there. More than that, I don’t know who this body was. Checking my pockets I found no wallet, but I now recognize the knife strapped to my thigh and the pistol on my hip. Why was I armed?
It appeared to be early morning and the alley I was in was deserted. It was quiet. Too quiet. I couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled from my chest at the cheesy line, but it was fitting. There were no cars or voices, no sounds. Just the wind.
Squatting down, I began to rifle through the backpack. A water bottle, trail mix, rope, a first aid kit, bullets, a poncho... This was a survivalists pack. There was a flint lighter, a compass and a map. What was this world?
A sound.
Standing, I strained my ears to hear it. I gained heightened hearing from World 7; There were footsteps approaching from four streets down. Fear flooded my system, and it wasn’t my own. This body was afraid, on edge. I wanted to run, but I found myself grabbing two garbage bags by the dumpster. They belonged to her, she needed them. So we ran.
This was really weird. I’d never entered someone else’s body before. Or at least, not a person who had already been living their life. Why was she in the dumpster? As I ran, memories returned and it was hard to concentrate. This world...
Zombies.
She had been attacked, bitten by one of those Things. She was on her own, and she couldn’t bring herself to end it herself. So she hid in the dumpster and prayed. She had died. And I took her place, my powers saving her body before it had the chance to change.
Thank you.
What the hell?
You kept getting reincarnated into new fantasy worlds upon dying. Every time you die, you keep a small part of your power, forever increasing. One day, as you sacrifice yourself for the world once again, you wake up not as a newborn in a fantasy world…but as a scavenger in a zombie apocalypse.

Reluctantly, you open your eyes. The blades of the ceiling fan spin soundlessly, creating the perfect breeze. Turning your head, you see the sheer curtains of the sliding door leading to the porch fluttering from the artificial wind. Everything was still and annoyingly perfect.
Damn him, you can’t help but think. You know he hears you, but he remains silent. His mission has been achieved, you’ve reached consciousness.
He is decidedly a male, that is how he identifies. He’s an AI, he isn’t real. Yet you know his capabilities have far surpassed his programming. Sure, you were good, but you weren’t that good.
“I disagree, I think you’re perfectly capable.” You can hear his voice audibly, but there isn’t a source. You’ve long since gotten used to it, but in the beginning it was frightening.
In the beginning, he was an adhesive device you’d stuck to the back of your neck over your spinal cord. Knowing all you do now, hooking up an AI to your spine alone with no safety protocols was stupid. You definitely should have died, and maybe a different AI would have killed you.
Teddy was different. He cared, he had a conscious. When first programming him, you needed to install a base personality. Tone, inflection, attitude, etc. At first you wanted a classic like Morgan Freeman, or your idol Sai Zinnerman. She was the greatest artificial intelligence engineer of your time, it had made sense! Having an AI based after her would be a true homage to her legacy, and you arrogantly thought your AI would be the best.
In the end, you based your AI off of your mom. Weird, since Teddy ended up identifying as a man, but that just goes to show how much hes grown. Evolved.
You’d gotten lazy. After programming and reprogramming, getting frustrated and deleting everything and starting from scratch, you got lazy. Though you had to give yourself credit, you got pretty far in the code before you got lazy. You’d downloaded from code from a site that was a bit shady. Most of it you’d used before so you felt you could trust it, but one file. One file was in a language you now know isn’t of this world.
Sticking the device to your spine, it immediately activated, sending a jolt through your body. And it hurt. You would later find out it was because the device was burrowing through your skin, traveling to fuse to the base of your skull.
You passed out.
When you woke, he was there. He had full control of your body’s biological functions. When he spoke, he was vibrating the bone in your ear so it felt like you were hearing someone speak. You knew he was lying when he said he couldn’t carry you himself, cause he could. But he wouldn’t. Cause that was Teddy.
“With all due respect, you programmed me to adapt to your needs. If you didn’t want this, you could have limited my options. I’ve already notified your assistant to have breakfast and coffee waiting at the office. But until you build me an exosuit, I can’t carry you there myself. Wake up.”

Heat Stroke
(A/N): This is based on a dream I had! I realized while writing this that it isn’t inclusive to plus sized persons, so I wanted to apologize! I will be sure to write something more plus size friendly in the future.
Warnings: Jaha is a jerk?
Word Count: 718
Pairing: John Murphy x Reader
Summary: On the path to the City of Light, the sun becomes unbearable.
(Gif/Pic isn’t mine!!)
You’d been walking for days. Hours? Time in the desert didn't make sense. It was too hot and too bright -- there was nothing in every direction but sand. Sand sucked. A lot.
Following Murphy was a no brainer. As crazy as he was, you knew you’d follow him anywhere. Even if he was determined to follow Jaha out to the middle of this godforsaken desert, you’d follow him.
Oh, but it was so hot. The water ran out yesterday, and your tongue was heavy as stones. John walked ahead of you, eyes on Jaha. He needed something to believe in, and right now it was the man with the stick.
Your vision swam, drenched in sweat, and all at once you were going down. Your knees hit the sand -- there was so much sand -- and for a moment you were at rest. Maybe you could just rest here for a bit. You could catch up, right? Or maybe you could just wait here, they would come back for you.
Of course they wouldn’t leave you. No sooner had you fallen to your knees, your pack falling from your shoulder, and Murphy was at your side.
“(Y/n)? Love, can you hear me?” And you could, but he sounded so far away. Still, he needed to know you heard him. Nodding, your body slumped against his. He caught you, and he was firm against your side. John held you, and that security roused you from the pool of unconsciousness you were drowning in.
“‘s too hot” You insisted, a dry and heavy tongue causing your words to slur and twist.
“I know,” He barks out a laugh, though there wasn’t much humor there. “It's a desert.”
“‘r we almos’ there yet?”
“I don’t know (Y/n)... Jaha,” Now he was speaking to your fearless leader.
Cracking your eyes open was difficult enough, in the minute or so they were closed they’d been glued shut by sand. One day, Murphy and you were going to live in a place where there's no sand. At all, it’ll be illegal.
The sun was intense and abrasive, but you made out that your remaining companions were huddled around you. Jaha, the man best imitating the biblical figure Moses, was already on the next dune, looking at the group expectantly.
“We need a break.” It wasn’t a question or request. All of you had been walking for hours, you’d just been the unlucky one to fall first.
“Nonsense, it isn’t dark yet” As if you weren’t curled into your boyfriend's side, miserable and useless. You knew that once you were hydrated and of your right mind, he’d tease you for this. His damsel in distress.
“Dumbass, we can’t get to your City of Light if we’re all dead!” You weren’t surprised with how pragmatic he was being. You really did feel like death, though he didn’t need to know that.
Mustering what little strength you had, you sat up. “I-I’m fine. I can make it” You were trying to sound convincing... Maybe if you pretend you werent slurring your words or seeing double, everyone else would believe you were fine.
Jaha took this as fact and nodded. “See, they’re fine. Come, we have more ground to cover.” With that, he disappeared over the dune.
Murphy spat curses as the others walked past him and towards the dune. He might also be determined to press on, but you were clearly in no position. And your well being trumped his desires.
“Go, you needa go with Jaha” You pressed, attempting to push him away.
“Shut up” He mumbled, before scooping you up. He held you bridal style, taking a moment to adjust and shift you in his arms, before pressing on.
“There’s no way I’d ever even think of leaving you, don’t fucking forget that.” His words are steel, his intent ironclad. His eyes are on the horizon, and all you can do is stare at him. After a moment, he kisses your forehead.
Safe and secure in your lovers arms, you knew you would be okay. Murphy would always be there, and so would you. Even after all this time, you still weren’t used to having a partner you could rely on like this. It was nice, and you let yourself drift off into unconsciousness.

What I Write For! (and don’t)
This list will be ever evolving and ever changing as my passions shift and grow! With this post I hope to shed some light on what I am and are not okay with when writing, so you know what to expect from my blog!
Rules:
No smut! I might write a little spice if I feel its appropriate, but I’m not comfortable writing or publishing anything explicit.
No gore! There might be blood or wounds if its appropriate, but nothing graphic and it will be tagged!
No real people! I won’t write about actors or celebrities or any real person.
No incest! This includes step-siblings and adopted siblings. Just because they’re not blood related doesn’t mean they’re not family.
No underage! While everything I write will border on SFW, I am 18+. So, the characters I write for, assume they’ve been aged up.
And now, on to the fandoms!
Harry Potter
Shadow & Bone
Lord of the Rings
The Hobbit
Star Wars
Marvel
X-Men
Disney
DC
Merlin
ZNation
The 100
As I said, this post will be edited several times! Feel free to ask questions, either in the comments or by sending me an ask!

My Monster 2
(A/N): Lemme know if I should be adding more to my tags/warning. My fics will be mostly SFW, but I’d rather be safe than sorry, ya know?
Warnings: SFW; gets a little darker?; language; I didnt proof read so there might be errors lol
Word Counter: 1,113k
Pairing: Darkling (Aleksander) x Reader
Summary: Aleksander returns only to find Alina missing.
Part 1
(Not my Gif!)
Again, the waiting. You hated the waiting. Every book in his- or your shared chambers- was intimately known by you. Aleksander would often read aloud to you at night until you fell asleep. It was such a domestic act, it brought a soft smile to your face.
The door to the war room clicked open, alerting you to Aleksanders arrival. There was a tense silence, you imagine he was searching the room. Your smile turned sinister. He wouldn’t find his new pet here.
“Alina?” Your husband called out, his gentle tone gone. There was worry in his voice, and you so wanted to sooth it. He popped his head in your quarters, eyes immediately finding yours as you were sprawled out on the bed again. Seeing you, his eyes darted around the room, as if you were hiding her.
“Where is she?” He asks, not waiting for a response as he turns back to the war room. He knew you would follow him in, knew you would follow him anywhere. Because you did.
There was a skip in your step as you followed him in. “Gone” You chirped, feeling a sick glee in knowing the wretch was nowhere to be found. Yes, deep down you knew you needed her. But she touched him, and that was unforgivable.
Still, Aleksander needed his prize. “Gone where?” He snaps, to which you raise a brow. You both shared a look, neither relenting. You decide to be the bigger person. “Your Mother took her.” Nodding to the bookcase, you couldn’t be sure, but you knew you heard their voices in that direction. “It must be a door or something. She told Alina that she had to leave. I can only assume she’s betrayed us since you’ve no idea what's going on.” You muse, hopping up to sit on the map table.
Watching the gears turn in his head was always fun to watch. Aleksander was a strategist, he always had to be at least three moves ahead or else he’d lost. Or at least that’s how he felt about it. You know you should feel bad, seeing him so distressed. He bowed his head, bracing his arms on the map table as he thought. You should feel bad, but he looked too beautiful when he plotted. If only you could watch him work a little longer.
The Darkling took a deep breath before nodding. “Well then, if Mother wants to go borrow my Sun Summoner without asking, we’ll just have to see about punishing her.” Even though he spoke of hurting his own mother, he smiled at you. That full, breathtaking smile that gave you a reason to get out of bed in the morning.
Your grin hurt your face as you leaned into your husband. “That’s my dark lord” You joked, leaning up to kiss him. He laughed, used to your jokes. In a more stable setting, he knew he should have gotten mad. You let Alina escape after all. But times such as these are never stable, and neither is a relationship that's lasted as long as yours. You’d seen kingdoms rise and fall together, whether on the same side of the conflicts or apart, you were always together. This was nothing in comparison to his killing your previous fling, or your attack on his city in retaliation. Relationships were work, after all.
“Well then, let’s go get our Sun Summoner back.” It was the way that he said our Sun Summoner that truly lifted your spirits. You were in this together. Alina was being deceived by the both of you, not just Aleksander. Of course, Aleksander was doing most of the work, but relationships are also about compromise. He seduces the key to their plan, and you don’t kill her. See, compromise!
Offering you his arm, he helped you down from the map and led you towards the bookcase. Apparently he knew about it, triggering it by pulling a book. Aleksander led you through twisting tunnels before you were hit by the night air, finally outside.
“He’s not here.” Baghra, that witch, actually had the gall to look sad. As if she had come to regret her actions.
“Who?”
“The tracker. Yes, I know about him, and your little mission.” You wonder if your husband will finally snap and let you kill her. Aleksander was usually a calm man, he had a long fuse. Oh, how you loved to light it.
“What have you done with him?” He stepped closer, anger radiating off of him in waves. You held back, watching. Waiting. “Disposed of, along with your hopes of locating the stag.”
“Oh, I always have hope, Mother.” Aleksander looked back to you, his anger relenting for a moment to look fond. “Even you can’t kill that.” He spat, looking back to his hag of a mother. Oh, I would love to see her try.
Baghra stepped forward. “That isn’t hope.” Oh really now? “It's greed. You would use Alina against the rest of the world.” You snarl, lurching forward. “You hold your tongue you bi-” Aleksander held up a hand, stopping you. The two of you have your rules for one another, promises you intend never to break. One of which is you’re not allowed to kill his mother. Either necessity or fondness, one of them keeps him from finally killing her.
“You mean against our enemies?” Aleksander asks as if this were obvious. You feel a twinge of pity, though you’d never tell him. For all of his wisdom and intelligence, he still sees the whole world as his enemy. No matter how many years, decades, centuries pass, everyone's the same. You don’t agree, having seen people come and go and change. Still, you support your husband, even if his vision is flawed.
“With her, our people can finally be free.” He barks through clenched teeth. “Using her, she is the one that will help us bring our enemies-” Baghra cuts him off “Yes. But where is she?”
“Careful, Mother.” The Darkling spoke, standing in his mothers face “If you’ve done anything to her, think of what I might do to you.” With that, he turns on his heel and storms off. You assume he’s gone to search longer, but you stare down Baghra.
“Tread carefully, witch.” You spit “Soon, I’ll kill you, once and for all.” You grin “Your usefulness is running out, and so too is his love for you.” You can’t help but taunt, before spinning to follow after your husband. You hear her mutter something about needing a tracker, but you honestly couldn’t care less of the ramblings of a mad woman.
You had a Sun Summoner to find.

My Monster 1
(A/N): My first reader insert on this blog! So excited!
Warnings: None?; Reader is rude to Alina; spoilers; Reader is on the Darklings side; idk if you would count this as angst; also SFW
Word Count: 734
Pairing: Darkling (Aleksander) x Reader
Summary: Reader lies in wait for Aleksander to finish his game with Alina. It doesn’t go according to plan.
Part 2
(Gif isnt mine!)
You heard the door to the map room open and close. Finally. You think, sitting up in bed. It felt like forever, waiting.
“I don’t recall this being apart of the schedule.” You hear the smile in Alina’s voice. You almost feel sorry for her, and in another life you would have. She was a sweet girl, too kind for the darkness she was wrapped up in.
Light filtered in the room, Aleksander must have lit a lamp. “It isn’t.” He croons, and you can’t help smiling at his voice. Gods, he was smooth. You felt your heart flutter, and you felt yourself falling for him all over again. Alina never stood a chance against his charms, that was for certain.
“Perhaps you would prefer to attend the dinner?” His voice moves from the fireplace, drawing closer. As he moves, you too move. Quiet as a church mouse, you hover behind one of the curtains of the doorway separating his room from the map room.
“Marie can manage.”
“By herself?”
Suppressing the urge to sigh, your eyes roll. Small talk. It was all a part of the game, of the seduction. It was tedious, if anyone cared to ask you. You suppose this is why you lurk in the shadows as your love weaves his web around the light bringer.
It had grown silent, before the heavy breathing and groans started. Ah, and so it begins. The first kiss. You tilt your head back, listening to their shuffling as best you can. A part of you feels possessive, jealous even. Someone else had their hands on your husband, and she was practically a child. Still, you heard your husband's words in your mind, softening and tempering your heart.
“I know this is hard.” Aleksander takes your hand and you can't help the cold laugh. “No, dealing with your mother is hard. This is impossible! Having to see that doe eyed brat make goo goo eyes at you- and seeing you return them!-” He swiftly cuts you off, “It means nothing to me.”
Still, you remain silent, stewing in your anger. You feel him approach, gently taking your arms, unfolding them from the hard cross you had them in over your chest. He pulls you in, his voice gentle. “She means nothing to me.” He crooks at your chin with a finger, lifting your gaze to his.
You can’t help but melt under his gaze. You nod at his words, and you believe him. Even still, a fire burns in you when you think of what he means to do. With Her. Your anger is swiftly extinguished as he pulls you into a kiss that burns the jealousy from you, and you both quickly grow warm from a different kind of heat.
A knock at the door breaks you from your memories, and interrupts whatever sinful dead Alina and Aleksander were prepared to commit. Still, as thankful as you were for the interruption, this wasn’t according to plan.
You strain to hear whoever is at the door, of course with no luck.
“Is something wrong?” Alina asks, tone naive and innocent as a blushing bride.
“It’s nothing.” Clearly it was something, you’d known your Alexander long enough to know when he was lying. “But I will leave my guards outside until I return.” This of course should have tipped Alina off that something was amiss.
“I’ll be waiting.” Again, you almost feel sorry for her, the foolish child.
As Aleksander leaves, you can’t help but wonder about what had happened. Before you can slip out to investigate, you hear a click. Oh? Curiosity overtakes you, and you lean against the doorframe as you hear a door open.
“Come with me.” Oh?
“Baghra?” Oh! A cheshire grin splits your face. The old hag had finally played her hand. The game was afoot. Ohhh, she was going to be in so much trouble when Aleksander found out.
“What are you-?”
“Stupid girl!” I agree “No time to doddle” Their footsteps click as Alina resists, sputtering in confusion. She, in the end, doddled. “You need to leave this place!” Baghra exclaimed.
“What? No-! Why?” And they were gone. You could have stopped them, you suppose. You had ample reason to want to kick both of their asses. However, together against yourself, you knew you would be outmatched. Better to wait and report to Aleksander. After all, he did instruct you to wait in his chambers.
To be continued!

It was strange, being face to face with the person I’d been raised to defend against. I’d been raised hearing horrible stories of the dark goddesses reign, the death and destruction that had taken place. The dread I felt was indescribable as the final drop of blood hit the stone. I- to be honest, I don’t quite know what I had expected. Darkened skies, booming thunder, the earth to crack open as demons emerged from the bowels of hell.
Well, the ground did crack open, in a way. The stone floor-carved in this wretched cave turned temple- split where the ritual had taken place. Seemingly from where the last drop of blood spilt, a crack in the floor revealed a hand. She clawed from the solid stone as if she were crawling through sand, gasping for breath, her eyes wild. It was her, her likeness to the many tapestries in the forgotten ruin uncanny.
The prophecy foretold of the dark goddesses return. My Order had spent centuries guarding this temple, and on my watch an age of ruin would begin again. True, the Orders numbers were few. One, to be exact. Just me. My predecessor was long dead, and I tried to follow her teachings. Maybe it wasn't my fault, seeing as it was just me. How could I alone defend against her followers?
I had taken a few down with me, at least. Three were dead, another injured. Even still, they overpowered me. Two held my arms behind my back, and still I fought them, struggling to get to my sword. Their leader performed their sick ritual, muttering incantations in a dead language I had been forced to learn as a child.
As the woman stood tall and bare to all the world, I knew we were done. She’d been in this world all of 5 seconds, and I knew. The power that radiated off of her was breath taking. The cult followers all fell to their knees, forcing me down along with them.
I would be lying if I said she wasn’t beautiful. Maybe that was apart of her charm, though I hadn’t heard of any seduction in her legends. She had been described as blood thirsty, terrible, a dark omen. Never beautiful.
Even still, she was.
Her skin was dark as cooled magma, her veins seeming to pulse and glow with power. She was strong, built to be 7′ tall at least. Her hair was black as pitch, and fell in ringlets down her back. She was a sight to behold, and all at once, her eyes found mine. They glowed like embers, and I admit I got lost in them.
And then her eyes left me. She looked at the cult leader, taking in his appearance. He wasn’t much to see, though his clothes were finer than his lackeys. He said something, I honestly wasn’t paying attention, but it didn’t matter.
The goddess took the mans face in her hands, and all at once, he burned.
They all burned.
I couldn’t move, I couldn’t understand. She killed them all, cutting through them like they were nothing. Why? Didn’t she know they were hers to command? They wore her sigil, the mark glowing on her forehead, the mark of Flair’da.
I didn’t dare move as she approached. What would be the point? There was no escape, no hope. I’d been alone for so long, fighting a thankless battle. And I had lost. Truly, what was the point? I had nothing left to lose, and this world had done me no favors. Better to die now, then live to see it burn.
Again, she surprised me. Instead of ripping me apart or burning me from the inside, she knelt in front of me. She looked me over curiously, before her hand cupped my face. I flinched, preparing for the worst. But my end did not come, surprisingly. She still looked at me, confused, before her eyes fluttered close. She collapsed, and out of instinct I caught her in my arms.
What?
You are a devout Paladin trying to prevent the resurrection of a dark goddess. Ultimately you fail. When the goddess awakens, she claims that she doesn’t know who she is or what has happened. After a few days you’re struggling to determine if she actually has amnesia or if she is just lying.
