A Little About Me?
Oh man, you guys! I just realized as I started making content to put up... I kinda didn’t introduce myself.
So my name is Becca, and I love music. All kinds! I used to be a classical flute player, but I’m not (really) anymore. I’m studying, in college, for music degrees and I just love music so much, all around!
If you guys ever find music you think I’d enjoy, PLEASE send me stuff!
Have a good day!
P.S. All my posts are set to run in a queue, just in case you cared!

Starlight Star-shine by Steam Powered Giraffe
Now hear me out: I know the aesthetic of this band can be really weird if you’re not someone who’s into the steampunk style, but I have good things to say about almost all SPG content, especially because I really appreciate David Michael Bennett.
I appreciate this song for a lot of rich harmonies, and I appreciate the acoustic, but not empty, sound. It’s kind of a folk song, but kind of not.
I can’t lie: I put this one up because it’s a personal favorite, and I just think it’s very sweet. I thought y’all might enjoy.

Hey guys,
Since I began running a music-based blog (it’s not gonna be all song reviews; I just don’t have other musical content to publish!), I thought I’d go ahead and tell you guys about one of my favorite YouTubers, Todd in the Shadows.
He reviews music and he’s really awesome at it. I enjoy his opinions a lot.

Makin’ a Move by TWRP
Okay, first off: AWESOME. I looked into this song based off a recommendation from my best friend, who described this song as the love child of Daft Punk and Mystery Skulls. I have to say: she wasn’t wrong.
I love the juxtaposition of the female voice and the robot voice, and the techno-style dance music is great. I feel like sometimes, people make their music sound to electronic, which connotates something different than the techno sound provided.
I feel like they took great care to make sure their techno elements sounded musical, and it paid off.
Man, this is just a funk jam. A feel good song. What can I say: she knows me!

Can’t Help Falling In Love (Cover) by twenty one pilots
I love this song so much! I love seeing so many people uploading covers, especially since Haley Rinehart’s cover became so popular.
I mean no malice to Tyler, I just think his voice is a little weird, and I’m not sure how to correctly articulate why I think so.
I adore the uke for this song: it’s fitting. I like the contributions of so many people to make this video.
Not much else to say! It’s a cute song.

Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli
I originally stumbled upon this selection when looking for a first dance song for my wedding! I really like the lyrics and the upbeat energy this song contributes.
I love it a lot.
It has a good swagger, and as a former classical musician, I have to intensely appreciate the horn section.
I don’t know that I really have tons else to say. It makes me want to sing or dance, and it seemed like a good selection to put up here!

C’mon by Panic! At the Disco & Fun.
Overall, I enjoy this song.
There are Alice in Wonderland references that I did not pick up on during my first couple listens. Generally speaking, I enjoy the lyrics and there are a couple lyrics that stick with me, particularly the chorus. It’s a good reminder.
I respect both these artists as singers, but I honestly don’t think their voices go well together. I think that Nate’s voice simply has a tone that’s too different from Brendon’s to work well. Some commentators seem to enjoy this pairing, so that’s good.
I can’t say I’d be a fan if it was just Fun. performing this song, I don’t think. Overall though, it’s a fun and interesting collab to come out of this, so for that, I’m grateful!

Valerie (Cover) by Panic! At the Disco
I had only heard this song a couple times before I stumbled across the cover.
I absolutely love it. I think there’s a somewhat heavy use of percussion (rather, the snare and piano are the most noticeable elements to me), but it works. I feel too biased in talking about this song, too, because I love Brendon’s voice.
This song is so cute, and it’s a fun bop.
