Maddie received no pushback for telling a caller to kill themselves, Brad saying that his captain hotshots or whatever is going to live so the guy can’t kill himself, “don’t jump” being thrown around at Buck when Gerrard was captain in the beginning and the captain at the end is Gerrard (I know he’s leaving), guy who struggled with suicidal ideation ends up having to sacrifice himself after finally deciding he wants to live, Athena is building her dream home just to lose her husband and sell it, Chimney on top of the roof before the Bobby funeral only for him to appear headed for a job he’s never really seemed like he’s wanted, Hen having a whole episode about being forgotten and it being okay to take up space deciding that she’s not going to be captain actually. guys. I think the recurring theme of the season is that it’s good to give up on your dreams and maybe dying is okay actually.

im just. not a single storyline this season had satisfying conclusion. not the texas arc for eddie. not bathena rebuilding the house. not bobby dying. not madney expecting a second child. not henren adopting mara. not chris returning home. not whatever the fuck was buck’s storyline this season. nothing that happened makes. so much was done either offscreen or in a rushed montage at the very end of the episode. why. just why.

I think what annoys me the most with this 911 S8 development is that now whatever plot points they push forward (and wether I like it or not), I won’t get invested because there’s a big chance it won’t be developed at all or well 😅

sure ok. why did eddie even go to texas then? why set up that he’s gonna choose to stay with the 118 (not even like. a buddie thing specifically) for himself because thats where he belongs and then instead he’s forced to stay by CHIMNEY??? why did bobby die?? why did athena sell their house? why did eddie go to texas?? why was eddie going to texas buck’s entire storyline for the season? why chekovs el paso fire employee who abandoned them for a wife in another state? why did eddie tell buck he wasn’t going to make him move out if he came back and then he moved out?? why did bobby die in the middle of a season of rat disease?? why the silly and flippant tone after bobby died? why the 4 minute funeral? why the theme of people returning? why the grahambobby parallel except he lives??? why did athena take bobby’s body to minnesota? how is maddie already giving birth?? how long was eddie in texas? why didn’t chris ever express any desire to move back to LA ?? why did hen do literally nothing all season?? why did bobby die? why did eddie go to texas?

idk personally I do need something a little bit more explicit/textual re: buckandeddie in order to feel satisfied with their story for this season and where it’s going BUT I also don’t think getting like. a kiss/mutual confession/start of a relationship in this episode would make sense or be satisfying based off how things are going so far. I think the ideal scenario narratively is some sort of verbal confirmation of feelings for one of them (buck confessing to ravi when they’re trapped like, eddie saying something to hen when he goes to help out buck, etc.) and/or not denying it when someone else says something about their relationship (i.e. captain morales says something about eddie staying in LA for his “wife” and eddie smiles and doesn’t disagree, pepa saying something to one of them and they just sort of look longingly at the other, maddie circling back to her and buck’s conversation from 8x11 but he doesn’t freak out this time) but they don’t actually talk to each other about it. because then it would be totally set up for the ga who aren’t tapped in yet but they could do all of the actual development in s9. and that’s #mytruth.

teen snape defenders actually scare me because we all know snape. you've met him. i've met him. we've all had a snape. that piece of shit who says awful things about your other friends and makes you feel bad for being yourself and tries to control your life and disses everything about you while pretending they care. your "best friend". that's snape and it boggles my mind that there are people who can defend who he was to lily at all.
