The boy who swallowed the Sun

-A destiel fic that came to me after listening to Suneater by Leanna Firestone (title taken from the song)

Castiel remembers the day the sword of Michael was born. The angels rejoiced and heaven seemed brighter. He remembers telling his garrison that the righteous man had arrived on earth and becoming  enraptured that the word of his father came to fruition. Yet as the years passed and he saw what was becoming of the once happy and shining young boy's life he couldn't help but think maybe his father was wrong.

Castiel remembers the day he was charged with saving Dean Winchester from the depths of hell. How he thought it would be hard to find him in all the darkness and despair, Yet his soul still shined as bright as the day he was born even after forty years in hell had passed. Castiel had wished his grace would be that bright. Looking at Dean everything else had disappeared, The dark,his own shame. Looking at Dean, holding his soul in his hands was quite possibly the only thing that made Castiel feel something he couldn't place yet.

Castiel remembers the days and years that passed after their first true meeting in the barn. The way he tried to help Dean and still follow his orders. How he disobeyed the orders from heaven as Dean’s light reflected on him and made him better.  Castiel began to understand human emotions and realised what he felt. The longing looks he shared with the man he was destined to save. How everyday he wished to tell him but knew he couldn't until that one day. How he made a deal to save his son , only to have the same deal save Dean yet lose him too.

Castiel remembers the day he was saved. seeing that blinding light in the void of the empty.  He remembers the days after, Dean looking at him like he might disappear again. Remembers the fight they had. Screaming the words that had each held onto all these years. Remembers telling Dean that of course he meant it, how could he not fall in love with the man whose soul was the purest thing Castiel had ever seen. Remembers Dean shouting back that Castiel could have had him the whole time, how he loves the man that always saved him and helped to make him shine bright.  

As Castiel lies in bed, laying with a sleepy Dean Winchester on his chest he remembers the kiss that led to this. The smiles they shared. He knows now that while he may be the moon Dean Winchester will always be the boy who swallowed the sun.

So I was able to leave a comment on the fic.

I think I did the right thing but not sure if she will see it as it has been a few years.

What do you do when you find out that a co author on AO3 you wrote with deleted the work and has reuploaded it in just their name.

Like we wrote it together in 2017ish and then after writing nearly I think 15 chapters I decided to focus on my other works.

I've only just seen that they deleted it and uploaded it in their own name but kept all the parts I had written?

I feel like it's been to long to confront them. It hasn't been touched since 2018 but like its got my written work in it.

What do I do?

I was walking through the toy aisle at Target when I found this thing and had a VIOLENT AND IMMEDIATE FLASHBACK to when JP first came out and they had a bunch of REALLY COOL T Rex toys that I would have sold one of my scrawny small-child limbs for but my mother wouldn’t get me one because they were “too violent and also ate people” :(
