With Hogwarts Legacy on its way pre-orders no doubt on the horizon, I just want to remind everyone that there is literally no reason to buy the game.

By the time of release they will most likely have already been paid. I say "most likely" because some shitty companies have contracts determining that payment will only happen after the game's release, but this is a garbage practice and companies that do it shouldn't be supported.

Either way the people who made the game will or have been paid a set amount of money already filed away as development costs. Every bit of profit the game makes will go to the producers, the distributors, and Rowling.

Buy it used or use ~other means~ to acquire it.

It absolutely does matter. Even if only a fraction of a cent of your money goes to Rowling, that's still more than zero, which is too much. And it kinda says smth if you're okay with that just so you can play a neat looking game a little bit sooner. Just wait for it to show up used or on ~other websites~

Never said or implied that, but I know people are going to take that away from this anyway. There is a world of difference between liking a work of fiction and monetarily supporting a terf. One is liking a work of fiction. The other is monetarily supporting a terf. This ain't rocket science people.
