Today's the day! Finally flying to Germany🫶
I'm also taking my cat with me so I'm a bit nervous because it'll be his first flight. But also super excited to finally be able to build a new home in a new country!
I'll be listening to Oathbringer during the flight and layover since I wasn't able to pack a book in my carry on—it's full of cat stuff for the 20+ hour trip and I still feel I didn't pack enough😥
Might update later as my trip progresses.

Currently sitting at a coffe shop listening to my audiobook (Oathbringer, by Brandon Sanderson) while passing the time for a lunch date in less than an hour—pregnancy hunger is a serious thing!
Went to the bank earlier this morning and got some shopping done for my trip next week. I'm a bit tired but don't have much left to do this afternoon. Will try to finish reading The Phantom of the Opera by tonight so I can post a review online by Sunday (I do YouTube reviews).
I have to admit I've been enjoying my time alone today (^-^)

The day I had the most to do had to be also the day it rained the most (-_-)
Had a vet appointment with my cat this morning to get his travel certificate. Since we're moving to Germany next week, we need to get all his papers in order before our trip so he can make it on the plane with me. The plan is for him to travel in cabin since he's so small (in size) and will be fitting nicely under the seat.
Right now I'm at a doctor's appointment myself, checking some blood work I got done last week. I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant and needed to check for diabetes. Things are looking good apparently.
Later today I have another doctor's appointment to check the same blood work, but with my gynecologyst. She'll also be the one to crear me for traveling next week and give me my travel certificate. So far, traveling alone with a cat while pregnant is something I would not recommend—too much to do, not much people to rely on.
Today's to-do:
Read at least 1 chapter of The Phantom of the Opera.
Do at least 1 German lesson on Duolingo.

Went to pick up my visa today! The Embassy let me know at the beginning of the month that it had been approved and inmediately booked a flight for early June. The challenge now is to travel with my cat, so I'll be doing the paperwork to be able to move to Germany with him.

Life as of late
I've been keeping up with my studies, both in German and French. I also managed to finish On women, a book I started over six months ago and hadn't finished yet. Booked a flight to visit some relatives this weekend and, since my visa is finally approved, also booked y flight to Germany for next month! My cat is also moving with me and he's been extra cuddly this week, so I've been enjoying his company these last few days.
Tasks for today:
Duolingo for both French and German.
Study German grammar.
Journal before bed.

2 May, 2025
Spent most of my morning doing some housework, which made me feel quite tired by noon. Ordered a burger for lunch and watched the new episode of The Apothecary Diaries while eating. Read a bit of On women, by Susan Sontag. Then, I spent most of my afternoon watching CSI on the tv, cuddling with my cat.
Today's tasks:
Duolingo lesson for both French and German.
Read a few pages of On women's last essay, by Susan Sontag.
Wrote some notes I had pending on some Bible chapters I read during April.
Joined a Journaling Challenge and journaled a bit following today's prompt.

Goals for May🐝
I failed a bit during April to keep a consistent posting schedule in most of my social media accounts, so for May I'll set the same goal to see if I can actually accomplish it during this month. This counts towards my Insta, Threads, YouTube and Tumblr accounts, since they're the ones I use almost daily.
I'll also be setting a new study schedule for my Bible and German studies during the week. I won't be trying to catch up to the schedule I had before, but set a new one to keep on learning at my own pace. Will also try to pick up my French again, so I don't get too rusty.
During May I'll do my best to incorporate stretches and light yoga or pilates to my weekly routine, besides from still going on some walks. I'm nearly 5 months pregnant and been having some pain on my hips and legs, so I'll need to work around that before baby gets too big and I can't move properly anymore.
Speaking of baby, might do a pregnancy reveal some time this month. I created this blog to keep the anonymity online and have been keeping my pregnancy a secret from most people I know or privacy reasons. It has helped that I've not gotten too big and usually wear oversized sweaters, so nobody has noticed yet. Still, would like to see how long I can keep it a secret (again, for privacy reasons).
As for my writing, I did not finish my detailed draft, so I set a goal to get it done by May 15 so I can begin properly writing my book by the second half of the month.
And for my May TBR:
The Phantom of the Opera, by Gaston Leroux (re-read).
Oathbringer, by Brandon Sanderson (will force myself to actually finish it in a month).
On women, by Susan Sontag (still have an essay left, will try to finish it before the weekend).
Hero of Ages, by Brandon Sanderson (if I finish Oathbringer, might get to read this one before the end of the month, but I don't like to read two Sanderson books at the same time).
Wings of starlight, by Allison Saft (maybe, if I feel like reading a romance).

April was chaotic. I turned 26 at the beginning of the month and 10 days later had to fly to my home country from Germany to sort some things out (and still haven’t been able to return because my visa has not been approved yet).
As to my goals, I did ok, I think. I did start posting more consistently on my social media, though I only started to do so this week. I am definitely behind on my German and Bible studies, but will make a new schedule and plan during May.
I've also had some few dance sessions as workout, but I've been mostly taking walks and making sure I walk almost anywhere (it's been helpful that my license expired and can't drive anywhere now).
As for my writing, I managed to write the deatails of like 5% of my undetailed draft. My new plan is to write the rest before May 15 so I can start properly writing during the second half of the month.
And now, my reading updates:
Oathbringer: Did not even pick up the audiobook, definitely a TBR for May.
Sunrise on the Reaping: SOBBED while reading this book. I later ugly cried in front of my husband trying to make him understand why it was so devastating. 10/10 experience, 5 stars read.
Iron Widow: Finished it today. What the actual F*? I'm angry I left the sequel back in Germany because I need answers. Probably also a 5 stars read, haven't made my mind yet.
Mysteries of Thorn Manor: A cozy read to light up the mood after SOTR. I'm also sure the author has some explaining to do so I'll be needing a sequel, please.
On women: I only have one essay left, but have not been in the right mind to read it, so will be finishing the book in May.
The Apothecary Diaries: It was not on my TBR because I hadn't planned on buying the manga yet, but since I loved the anime and found a pretty good deal, I had to get it. 100 times more difficult than any other book I read this month because I picked it up in German to practice my reading and I still don't understand half of what I read.
Wings of starlight and Marry my husband: Didn't even think of picking them up this month. Might read them later during the year. No pressure.

Goals for April

I took some time off most of my social media, including this blog, so I haven't updated in a while. That's why I think one of the main goals for April is to be more consistent with my social media posting, even if it is only a couple times a week instead of daily.
I also fell behind on my German and Bible studies during March. For April, I'll be getting back on track with my studies again, focusing on the quality of my study sessions instead of the quantity of the material I review each day. I'll also set up a new schedule to be able to keep the routine going.
Working out is not one of my favorite things to do, even if it's an easy enough workout. But I've found that dance sessions are good for the body and help me clear up the mind a bit. Besides, it's easy enough I can take a couple of minutes every day whenever I feel like moving my body without having to set up a space to work out.
During march, I was able to write 95% of my undetailed first draft for my future novel. I still need to write the ending, which I'm not sure how I'll manage to solve, but during April the goal is to write the details for each section or chapter so I can start writing by May.
I also have an extensive TBR for April, which I'm not completely sure I'll be able to fully read, but here it is:
Oathbringer, by Brandon Sanderson (it was also on my March TBR but didn't finish it).
Sunrise on the Reaping, by Suzanne Collins.
Iron widow, by Xiran Jay Zhao.
Wings of starlight, by Allison Saft.
Marry my husband volume 1, by Sojak Sung (Webtoon).
Mysteries of Thorn Manor, by Margaret Rogerson.
On women, by Susan Sontag (didn't finish it last year, so it would be good to finish it now).

9 March, 2025.
I fell behind on my studies this last couple of days, so I've been catching up today with everything. Specially with my German course. I've also been catching up on some video recording and editing for my YouTube channel so I can make content creation my job this year.
I´ve also been listening a bit to the Oathbringer audiobook, though not as much as I'd like. I've been obsessed with this K-drama, Crash course in romance. I think I watched like 5 to 6 chapters the last two days, which is a lot for me.
For the next week, my main foccus is getting a bit ahead of myself, since I'll be traveling to Germany on vacation next Sunday. I have a Notion that I use to get organized and will need to update it a bit for next week so I can keep up.

Study German: Finished my daily goal and got ahead of myself for Thursday since I have a doctor's appointment and won't know for sure when I'll be free. It's nice to go back to the begining to it can be fresh again in my mind before I move over to the A2 level.
Reading: Didn't make it to my daily goal, but read enough for the day as I'm falling asleep while I read.
Notion updates: Went and got even more updates. Long story short, since I'm pregnant and unemployed, I'll try to make content creation my job so I can get some income in the future. For that, I have to treat content creation as a job from now, so I can get into the habit later on.
Workout: Did an abs and core 10 minute workout. It was not too difficult nor tiring and it really helped me with my lower back pain. Will try to do it again this Thursday or Friday cause I really liked it.

Inspo & to-do list
Study German: Today I begin with my German course again. I'll be taking it slow and be focussing in understanding the lesson plan over only taking notes for further refference, since that's what I basically did the first time.
Reading: I'm currently rereading Howl's Moving Castle and really enjoying it this time arround. I have set a daily reading goal and will read only to that point unless I decide to go further later tonight.
Notion updates: This one is more an updtate than a to-do, since it's what I've been up to this morning. Got a new Notion template and have been spending some time playing with the layout, but yesterday I was watching some videos and loved a template and I had to recreate it as best as I could (the creator did not have it linked>"<).
Workout: I'll make some time this afternoon, between lunch time and my evening snack to get some movement in. I've been feeling a little pressure in my lower back and some tightness around my hips, so I'll be doing some hip opener excercises that are easy for the 1st trimester.

Goals for March🍒

Bible study: Will be reading and studying the first 4 books of the Bible, from Genesis to Numbers. I got a new Bible a couple of years ago and decided to add my annotations and thoughts to the book for future reference. Mixing up a bit of academia, scholarship and faith.
German lessons: Will be taking again the A1 free course the Deutsche Welle site offers. Mostly will be only copying the lessons and grammar rules, won't be doing the excercises again.
Workouts: I have some pregnancy safe workout videos and will do my best to get some movement 2 to 3 times a week. Will try to make a schedule or routine for the week so I can actually stick to this habit.
Books to read: I'll be listening to Brandon Sanderson's "Oathbringer", the third book of The Stormlight Archive, for my book club and will give Diana Wynne Jones' "Holw's moving castle" a second chance, since I didn't really love it the first time. We'll see how this re-read goes.
Journaling: I'll incorporate this habit into my weekly routine as well. Some days it might just be for my book/reading journal, other for my personal journal. Might also add a digital option in case I want to add some photos or digital elements, but I'll do my best to maitain this habit.
Writing: This month's primary goal is to write the undetailed plot of my novel. I'm still going over several ideas and getting them into writing —physical or digital— might help me get a better grip of the story and see how I can work with it.

✨️Inspo and updates✨️

Decided to add the date, for "Today" and "Tomorrow" is too vague and does not help me remember when things happened.
All things Germany: The road trip to the Embassy went quickly, but it went as well as I had hoped. No answers, no way of knowing when I might get my visa. At least I got my passport back in case I need it.
Reading: Listened to my audiobook during my road trip and my commute to and from the Embassy, so managed to get like 5 hours 30 minutes in before I got home. I then hung out with a friend, went to the library and got something to eat, so didn't listen to Words of Radiance during that time. Still, I think I can manage the last hour and a half before bed since it's still early.
