Last week I launched my second edition of my fantasy book. Back in February I released my first book Universe of Light: The Ethereal Realm. 6 months on I have launched the refined edition of the same book.

I wanted to free myself of the constraints I put on myself in the first edition. The changes may be subtle but the effect it has had on me, will stay close to my heart forever.

This edition has gave me a fulfilment I didn't know I needed. And allowed me as a creative to understand that you can always go back and improve existing work. If you are not fully satisfied with the first attempt then go again.

It does amaze me the personal and professional growth I have made in the last six months, but I can tell you one thing - I feel alot more free when it comes to my creative work.

What I learned is - if the way you want to do something does not exist, create it. Just do you, and create your own blueprint. That is what I will keep aspiring to do.

I'm happy to announce that the 2nd edition of my fantasy book is now available on my website and amazon.

In February 2025, I launched my debut fantasy book Universe of Light: The Ethereal Realm. As I am a self published author there were things that restricted me and things I didn't know.

So in this refined edition aka my 2nd edition, I created a book cover I felt more aligned with but didn't feel confident enough to do. I improved the book by improving some of the writing, and I wrote a blurb that represented me more.

I have learned alot in these last 6 months and I think the confidence I have gained has really allowed me to just go with ideas and figure it out along the way.

I think I will always be a creative, who believes I can always go back improve work if I feel called to. I can say I'm happy now with this version and I hope you enjoy reading this beautiful book.

We live in a very judgemental world. Where if we do not fit the societal norms or bow to the patriarchal systems we are seen as outcasts.

The beauty of being rare is owning your individuality and embracing the uniqueness you bring to this world. I never understand why people want to conform. Conformity suffocates me, thats why I will always challenge it and rebel against it.

But when you embrace the rarity you bring and start carving a path of an outcast, the judgement level rises to all time high. The conformists hate you, the haters are triggered because they want to be you. The people who feel lost see a part of them in you. Those of like minds or own their differences respect you.

So my advice is, just be you. I know it's not as simple as that, but one thing you should always keep in mind is, judgement will always exist because its purpose is to judge. You will always be wrong in someone's eyes, so just embrace the side that gets the most judgement. If it feels right for you, no one else matters.

Elysian Fields is a flower field that is located in Solasta. Solasta is the light city that is home to Light beings, Elementals and Mystics. You can read more about Elysian Fields in my new introspective fantasy book.

This flower field is what I refer to as the flowers of paradise. There are 6 different flowers that each represent an essence that helps the Beings of the Ethereal Realm, understand more about themselves.

I believe we can learn so much from nature. There is so much richness that we should appreciate more of, especially on this Earth. Flowers to me, have so much wonder and stories behind them. They represent a range of feelings and emotions. That's why I created two flower fields to enrich the concepts I wanted to explore.

Random fact: apparently there was an actual place called Elysian Fields on Earth that was referred to as paradise. I only discovered this after I wrote my book. I found it so intriguing how I birthed an evolved concept of something that existed but I was not aware of it.

Writing can be such a fascinating experience, sometimes you never know if the stories you create are from the knowledge embedded in your soul.

Pain is something everyone experiences, but the way we experience it, is unique to us. Healing is something not everyone experiences or understands.

Healing not only reflects on the outside. It's inner work as well. If the pain we experience is physical, it also leaves mental and emotional wounds. You may not be aware of or, choose not to acknowledge. So even though the physical wound has healed, the emotional and mental wounds are still there, unhealed.

The one thing you should always remember is, no matter how long you experience pain for, or how long you carry it, you can always heal.

Healing is something we choose to do, pain is something we cannot choose. As humans, the more we heal, the more we understand and learn from the pain. Your healing journey is unique to you, but the wisdom it carries is unique as well.

So I hope as you choose to heal yourself from the pain you hold onto. Learn to let go of the control it has on you.

Hello Beautiful Souls,

I have returned with a new blog post. This topic is centred around authenticity, and what that truly means in a creative sense. However it can be applied in a general sense as well.

In the creative industry it is very rare to find authentic creatives. I think that is due to the fact that, many people in the industry have become very good actors in masking their true identity from the world. Most people curate a relatable narrative that sells a pretence of what the truth is. They are the masked creatives. However I think it’s important to be an unmasked creative. A person who presents themselves in a flawed, unfinished way.

Let’s strip this back for a moment, let’s go back to the birth of a person. We come into this world, pure, untouched and authentic in the most real sense. Now the world we are surrounded by, the people who guide us, the environment that shapes us, can play a big part in whether we maintain that authentic self.

I can say that everyone in their life has been either forced to wear a mask, or created a mask where we hide our true identity from the world. Like everyone else, I have fell victim to this many times.

We were instructed to wear masks for a variety of reasons. As this is my post, I’ll share my experiences. I’m a very deep and emotionally expressive person. Through my recent work you can see that . When I was younger I was someone who processed my feelings with an outpour. However I was told to suppress that otherwise I wouldn’t survive the world. I was told emotional vulnerability is a weakness. So that was one of the first mask’s I wore. As I continued to live my life I was told more things I shouldn’t do, so more layers were added. Slowly but surely I was less authentic and more “accepted” by society. That’s the problem with masks. We become so similar to everyone else, we think individuality is only for a selective community of people. When in reality individuality is what we all carry within us.

I guess that’s why in my late teens and majority of my 20s, I experienced a lot of imposter syndrome and dealt with identity crisis over and over again. The reason being, this masked self was not me. The reflection of my soul was not a reflection of this 3D tangible body I was living in.

I don’t know when it began, but I wanted to live my life authentically. I wanted to be able to free the layers of judgement that was projected on me. I wanted to free myself from the shackles of restraint, and live a life of an explorer not a prisoner.

The unmasking started, the layers began to fall, and then there was this push and pull. I had questions of “Who am I?”, “Who do I want to be?”, “Who will I become?”. The simple answers to these questions are; someone who is authentic to themselves, driven by the essence of who they have always been. That pure, real soul essence that was birthed into this world to learn and grow; not be confined and restricted.

As a creative, being authentic is very important. People want to connect with you and the art you create. If it doesn’t connect with you as a creative, then maybe you shouldn’t put it out. That work in reality is inauthentic and deceptive, so do not be surprised if later in life you attract similar people.

Energy is so important because the intention you pour into the world will not only represent you, but it will bring forth the people who want to hear your message. You need to believe in what create and pour your whole heart into it. Risk it all, no matter the controversy and the critique thrown your way. Your belief in your creation is your identity. If you see the true worth in what you create, so will the right people.

It’s easy to be a trendsetter. That trending moment of fame but, the thing about trends are they don’t last. To be honest, majority of trends are forgotten. So you become as memorable as the worth of how you see yourself. So if see yourself as a trend, with time, you will become forgettable.

I would like to be a classic. A timeless piece of beauty that is remembered far beyond my existence. Authentic work is something that leaves a legacy far greater than human life. People believe in a real story that carries a weight of truth. See yourself as art itself. Admired by many, understood by few.

Many creatives want to be the moment, be someone who is known right now. I want to be someone that is a hidden gem. Treasured forever due to the value it holds. I want my work to take you back to a place of nostalgia, feeling or emotion. Something that is worth remembering. Something you connect with on a deeper level, that allows you to dream.

So through peeling the layers of the mask’s away. I see my true authentic self. It will be an interesting journey, when travelling the road of authenticity. But it will be a road worth travelling. The truth always sparkles, but mask’s hide the lies created.

I hope you are able to join this path to who you truly are and remember this real, raw, unseen self is beautiful and worth existing in this life.

Be who you want to be, even if people don’t accept you. Embrace your weird and showcase it to the world. Tell this world that, you are here to explore this life and be who you want to be! Stand in your power.

Do not succumb to the judgement of acceptance. Be as real as the beauty that has always existed throughout this world.

Hardship is something we all go through, but I often feel we tend to dismiss and try to forget the harder times in life.

Probably because of the pain it caused or how it made you feel in those moments. How you may have allowed certain things to be played out, or how you allowed your feelings to be played with.

But hardship is that constant that teaches that life is not perfect like the curated social media platforms we see in this era. We live complex lives that come with it's own set of issues we have to overcome and grow from.

So in times throughtout life, when we look back be softer to that past self and show yourself compassion. We didn't know how it would impact our lives, but as we continue to heal we understand we had to go through that to get to where we are today.

Remember to appreciate what the hardship taught you and celebrate the battles you have overcame in your time, through experiencing the darker times.

Get to know me - Author Edition

I'm back with a different style of post this week.

I thought you can get to know me a little better with some simple questions.

People are complex but we all do live ordinary lives and like ordinary things.

I have always preferred the simplicity of life, probably because I grew up in a chaotic environment.

Just know whether you are someone interested in my work, or a fellow writer, you can do the things you desire even with limitations. The experiences you have been through, the skills you have obtained and, the knowledge you have gained is what makes you unique.

That's what sets you apart. I hope you always see that.

Darkness...something people often fear and run away from. Maybe it's your own depiction of it, or maybe its the way society tries to manipulate the view of it.

In the light we often think that's our true sight. That what is shown to us is the true reality we both perceive. But in the real world, true sight is what we see in the dark. In the darkness we are able to see the things that are hidden and masked from the eye.

In the darker moments of life we are faced with the truth. The veil falls and everything is left wide open for us to figure out. It's not a path people choose to walk, because in the light you can be delusional. You can allow the mind to cast an illusion, but in the dark there's no where to hide and the mask is broken. You have to face yourself.

The darkness always allows us to be true to ourselves and brings us into a light that we choose to cultivate, not a light that has blinded us from the trueness of ourselves.

When I was designing my book cover I had a completely different idea to what I wanted my book cover to look like. I went to many book stores and looked at various book covers to determine an art style I wanted to go with.

As an artist it can be sometimes hard to translate the ideas onto a blank canvas when you aren't completely sure on what you want. I knew my skills were a little limited for the idea I wanted but I didn't want that to stop me.

Hence, when looking at my cover design I wanted it to be different, something that would stand out because it's not uniformly designed like the standard blue print out there.

A thought came to me to do different background designs for different versions of the book. I later discovered that many authors do that. The background for the hardback is more of a sunset feel, in the spring months in the England especially where I live the sky depicts these types of colours.

It's where the daylight meets the nightlight much like the light and dark concept of my book.

With the paperback I wanted a more summery feel, that warmth you feel in brighter parts of the year. Like the hardback contrast, the paperback cover fades from light to dark to appreciate the tones of both.

Universe of Light: The Ethereal Realm is a introspective fantasy book, that allows you to go on a journey to harmonise the tones of one's self. To understand that we all offer something different in the world and that is something we should appreciate, not reject.

Hello Beautiful People,

Welcome to my first blog entry, it feels so weird to say because I use to write blogs back in the day. That’s a story for another time.

I thought to centre my first blog post around my art story so far. As weeks past I will be discussing many topics around my art journey, the things I have learnt so far and things a lot of artists go through. I want my blogs to offer advice, insight and give people an opportunity to share their thoughts. I hope along the way it brings some comfort and happiness to know we are all walking different paths together.

My Art Story

Where do I begin… I guess let’s start when I first fell in love with art. Well, I was around five years old when I realised my passion for art. My mum always said I was into drawing and crafts. I was an introverted child that spent most of my time colouring and drawing. My childhood dream was to be an artist and show my art to the world. I can say I am living that dream right now.

Throughout my teenager years, I did choose Art and Design as a subject at GCSE level. However it didn’t allow me to tap into my full potential. That type of education did limit me, I was a free bird who was forced into a cage and told to follow the system. Even though I learnt some skills, I was limited to what I could learn.

The expectation from society and family, destroyed my confidence and belief in myself. I drifted away from the one thing that brought me joy because I was told I was not good enough to make it as an artist. I pursued a degree that allowed my academic intelligence to flow but dried up my creativity. My law degree taught me, I didn’t want to live a life without creativity, I want to live a life of passion. The problem was, being lost for all that time I didn’t know how to reignite my passion.

Throughout my early to mid 20s, I did some craft projects here and there. It never felt as fulfilling. It wasn’t until 2021, after years of feeling lost and trying various things that I decided to launch my first art shop.

SerenitySKCreations. I started off creating small crafts, like hair clips and pin badges.

In that very year I became a fan of BTS and listening to their music inspired me to create art. It reignited that passion I felt I had lost and allowed me develop skills I didn’t know I had. I started off simple and did lineart pieces. It made me feel happy. The joy I found when creating art.

Around mid 2022, I had a job opportunity to move to London. During that process, I had to keep my art supplies packed away so I couldn’t create traditional art during that point. So I shifted to digital art, I started creating pieces here and there via my phone. That’s when my digital art journey began.

I left my job on October 12th 2022, on October 13th 2022 I decided I wanted to pursue a career as an artist. It was a difficult journey, I will say that. I remember that was the day I posted my first Jimin portrait digital art. One of my favourite pieces to this day. For the first time I felt like I had real talent. Something I hadn’t felt since I was a child.

From that day, I explored and developed many skills and techniques through the digital art medium, I used softwares like Ibispaint and Procreate to create beautiful pieces of art.

Jimin became my muse, I never felt so inspired to keep creating art from a person who held such a creative aura. I played around with colour, themes and styles. It made me feel alive.

In 2023, around June time I moved back home. My mental health was really bad. When I returned to art in 2021, that was a time where I was going through a very difficult time. Art bought me serenity, it allowed my mind to go quiet and feel my emotions. But in June 2023, art was not helping me to feel better. That’s when I realised that the art I wanted to create had to be emotive.

My emotions needed to be in a more balanced state for me to create meaningful art. That year I wanted to rebrand and start a new art platform. That’s when I birthed Sonam’s Art Space. I wanted to create art that showed my various interests, my own little space on the internet.

January 2024 birthed this website. That year I did continue to create BTS art. I went back to traditional art and for the first time I dabbled in painting portraits. I was stunned that I was able to create art I was proud of. My favourite painting from that year was definitely the portrait I painted for Jimin’s Birthday. That was a year where I created a lot of Jimin art, I was just so inspired by his Muse album.

Now we are in 2025, and that’s where it starts to get interesting. In the first month of the year, I was working hard to get my first fantasy book, ready and published. I had finished writing it back in 2023 and over the year that followed I was editing it. I sat down in January 2025 to now design the book cover.

It’s funny when I think back, I would never have imagined that I would be the artist to design my very own book cover for my debut fantasy book. For the first time I felt a lot of pressure, this piece of art meant something. It’s not like the other pieces of art that came before this didn’t, they were created for fun. This book cover would represent a story that I hold close to my heart.

We all know the saying “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” but we all know that people judge the cover. So after three weeks I was able to create a cover I was happy with. I had to remind myself that I had only learned digital art for around a one year and six months. So I had to give myself credit for that and, I am self taught. The thing I am grateful for is that I was able to create something that has my own vision and my own imprint. To be honest, it turned out great.

On February 7th, I published my book. That’s when things started to shift with me when it came to art. I knew that BTS art was coming to an end, I wasn’t feeling guided to it anymore and I had learnt the skills I needed. Jimin is still my muse but I wanted to shift my Jimin art to a hobby.

So I was a bit stuck like what do I do now? That’s when it dawned upon me. I created a fantasy world and I thought… I can create art from this. In that moment I knew this was what I was being prepared to do. That’s when I realised your intention is very important when you decide to be a creator and an artist.

So now you all are caught up. Now in present time, I embarking on a new chapter, one that has an intention to influence and comfort. My first chapter was about joy and learning which I achieved. Where this new chapter leads to only the journey will tell, but I am approaching it from a more experienced and authentic self.

I know as I look back, my five year old self is proud of me for not giving up. So, if you are someone who is pursuing a life long dream, just know your younger self is routing for you.

You often only need one person to believe in you, that person should always be yourself. I was lucky that I had the support of my brother, who never stopped believing in me. One person plus yourself is enough for you to keep going. If you don’t have a person, then I believe you. Go show the world what you bring is just as worthy as everyone else.

Together we can live lives we are happy with!

"The synergy of life is to unify"

A powerful statement to make when we live in a time, where people only keep dividing.

That's why I wrote my book. All my life I never understood why people chose hurt, control and fear to live the lives we do.

My first fantasy book, Universe of Light: The Ethereal Realm may be set in a mystical world, but the themes are not far from the things we experience day to day.

The reason I call it an introspective fantasy, is due to the fact it offers you to look at things with more depth. It allows you to feel, see and wonder. It takes you on a journey with the characters. You will see reflections of yourself in the various characters in the book.

This book allows you to feel that different is not a bad thing; acceptance is the greatest thing you can do for yourself.

I use to remember as a child the way books would make me feel. The stories I would immerse myself in, the book stores that held such wonder. Struggling to pick what book to read next.

My child self would never have thought that on this day, World book day I would be here talking about my book I published under a month ago.

So on this day I want to celebrate my book. I have endured many things in life, had many experiences and met a range of people. When I decided that I wanted to be a writer, it was a interesting journey I embarked on.

I did not follow a traditional path. I choose to carve my own path, one that stays true to my originality. When I say my book is unique and different from alot of fiction out there, I mean it.

It's my true original work; I wrote my book, I edited my book, I formatted my book, I designed the book cover and I self published my book.

This introspective fantasy explores a world which is not that different to the reality we live in and the main theme is acceptance. The complex yet beautiful journey we all go through in life when deciding who we are and who we want to be.

As we celebrate so many authors today, remember you are an author of your life. You write the path you walk, and at any given point you can change it!

Stars often I feel are the most underrated when we look at the universe.

People often talk about how much they love the Sun, so bright and glowing. Enough to make us feel immense happiness. And truly the Sun energy is like that, the warmth is something you cherish.

The moon is dreamy and beautiful. The darkness of the night, light reflecting off the Sun. To give it that mystical and mysterious energy. You often left with awe looking at the true beauty of the moon.

The stars however provide their own light to shine and are only visible when they want to be seen. That's the beauty of the star, its the true power of knowing no matter the dark or light, the star will shine no matter what.

That is the exact reason I chose the Star light for Taehyung in my story, I wanted to explore the star concept more and give my own inprint on it.

Difference in the world has always been ostracised. It you act, look, speak, think differently, it always comes with a sense of judgement.

However being different is not a bad thing at all, it means you are real and true to yourself. You don't allow the world to change you for your identity, you stand proud and speak your truth. True authenticity. The values we hold allow us to celebrate those differences. We unify through accepting that everyone is born to be different not the same, that's how we cherish the difference.

Darkness. Something that is often depicted as wrong and scary. Told to suppress, hide and run far away from. However darkness is the one thing that allows us to embrace the light. Just like the shadow can't be seen without the light, darkness holds just as much importance as the light.

Darkness pushes us to grow, learn, go beyond the limit we put on ourselves. The darkness unveils the blindness the light can bring.

I hope you embrace the darkness as much as the light. As a life without darkness, really does not carry much meaning.

This is from a scene in the book where a person is admiring the artwork the main character has gifted. Taehyung, the protagonist in my story is an artist, this extract is how he is feeling when someone truly loves something you create.

Often the things we create do not always receive the recognition or appreciation by people who see it. However there is always a few collective people who are able to really see the vision you are bringing to life, without you explaining it to them. It's the connection of like minds.
