I can't not reblog this here, cause this whole blog exists mainly because of the Happy Family AU, where this lovely commission would probably be based in. Gotta love some wholesome, happy Sigfried and Coppola ((I promise I'll try and get some more stuff queued up; me and a friend just go ham with silly AU nonsense lol. Here's a commission I did for a friend!! This is Sigfried and Coppola, a couple of characters that belong to @filromeroart! This is an au version of her characters where things are more sunshine + rainbows for Sigfried, compared the main story she's working on. Her comic is called Chameleon Charm, and you can read it on the comicfury website, or here on tumblr.

It's so funny, she commissioned me and was like "you want to draw a bookish, kinda stoic+awkward, beefy dude??" Me who was (still is) drawing ford repeatedly: "UHHHH, YES PLEASE" 😭

Because my fans on the Discord, where we have been discussing AUs and other ideas, they didn't like me interjecting that little bit of angst into the Happy Family AU, so collectively agreed, no no, it's not that bad; it's a dream but one caused by Sigfried accidentally knocking himself out. And at the library coincidentally. So we get a lap nap and appropriate reading material to help with a fainting library patron.

While we're on the topic of Coppola's family, let's... look at Coppola's family!

She's the middle child of five. Ford's about 5 years older than her, Francis is 3 years older, Wesley's a year younger, and Anderson is 2 years younger. Also, more proof that I should not be trusted with names. All four brothers are super protective of their sister when it comes to her dating, as she may have had less than stellar ex-boyfriends in the past and they have an over the top vetting system, where they all have to gather and judge the new boyfriend in question, ultimately ending with Anderson, the youngest, yet the biggest and strongest, challenging the potential boyfriend to a fight. Because of course they do. I promise; they are well-meaning, just a bit over the top. Sigfried's a bit OP so he didn't have a problem with said challenge, so he's A-OK to date their sister. This is partially because Papa Murphy (both Mama and Papa currently don't have names cause I didn't get that far) is sadly deceased and that's just made the brothers a bit more protective. Mama Murphy's pretty down to earth and is used to her sons' antics. Both her and Coppola just have eons of patience with them.

When it comes to the brothers, Ford is pretty level headed but loses his cool around Sigfried because of their work-relation, Francis has a slight mischievous streak to him but usually cajoles other people to do his dirty work, Wesley is the most grounded and seems to be the true voice of reason for the four, and Anderson acts like a rough and tough cowboy but can be a softie at times.

I'm just saying.... maybe I shouldn't be left to name characters really. So on Coppola's little "info" sheet thing, it says she comes from a large family, so figured I should... create said family. However, shower thoughts intruded and we ended up with two older brothers, named Ford and Francis, because I'm super damn clever.

Here, this takes place shortly after Sigfried and Coppola start dating and her brothers happen to hear about it, as they both live in the same city. They're very protective and needed to vet the new boyfriend and just "happened" across her path on her way to her date that day. They "insisted" they came along.

They weren't suspecting Sigfried, who at this point is acting as head of the military, which is along the lines of head of the government in the Chameleon Charm universe, so it's very jarring for both of them. He's not what they were expecting, on account of the fact Sigfried acts a bit differently when at work. Coppola's eldest brother has a slight issue with the fact his sister's boyfriend is technically his superior officer/boss and will frequently have issues with this. Maybe one day he'll get over it.

Not today though; they just met.

We were running with the idea that Coppola saw Aylen carrying Ferdinand and also wanted to give it a go. Sigfried really doesn't think that's a good idea, despite Coppola's earnestness. Also Ferdinand will neve be over how cute these two are.

On Coppola’s note sheet, it says she “allegedly” doesn’t get angry. That’s allegedly though and it says nothing about her just being very stern, at least when it comes to the rules of the library. If anything, just don’t break the library’s rules. It’s quite simple, really. Outside the library though, she is extremely chill and down to earth and is usually pretty unfazed by most things.

You may have seen from the tags, but this girl’s name here is Coppola, just because... I thought it sounded cute. She’s a librarian and super chill and needs to be protected, because... she does. Her outfit here is the National Library outfit and yeah, they still rock those sleeve garters, cause I think they’re cool.

Despite Ferdinand’s shenanigans and Sigfried being easily flustered, Coppola’s pretty chill and doesn’t seem to mind. Sigfried might hurt himself if he keeps blushing this hard though.

(I promise he gets better about it but it’s really quite fun to draw him all flustered and blushy so I apologize for nothing)

He doesn’t have a chance to really exhibit it really in the Main Universe, but Sigfried is an easily flustered, nervous guy. He’s just generally has to pretend that he’s not, though.

It doesn’t help either that Ferdinand is easily amused by his flustered nature, but he’s not trying to be mean, honest. He’s happy for his friend, but just finds it insanely funny how little it takes him to turn redder than Rudolph’s nose. These two aren’t just my OTP; they’re also Ferdinand’s.

In this happy little AU, Ferdinand and Sigfried meet up for the kids to have playdates. And to play chess at the park. Ferdinand is still not very good at it and it doesn’t help that he seems to be so bad that he keeps losing to a 7-year-old. Granted I’ve said she’s probably a super genius and Ferdinand’s probably just not taking it as seriously as he should. I think he maybe also thought he had a chance considering she is also just a 7-year-old.

I keep posting things with these kids, but having formally introduced them yet! They do have names. Fia and Farren you might recognize from the Chameleon Charm promo comic I did a while back but I never mentioned what their names were. Sigfried’s daughter is named Aisling, because I have a sick sense of irony or whatever, naming her something that means “dream” or “vision” considering she doesn’t... exist in the Main Canon. I guess for this image Farren’s around 9? whereas Aisling is around 7 and Fia’s around 6. They get along pretty well, though Fia can be a little troublemaker at times and tends to rope Aisling into her shenanigans. Farren tries to be the responsible one, but is also a child, so doesn’t do the best job at it, but that’s okay. This says Aisling is “probably” a super genius prodigy child, but at this point that probably could be taken out, lol. However, she’s not some pretentious genius kid and is pretty well mannered and down to earth.
