General Rules

These are not meant to be restrictive, merely to get everyone on the same page.

All mediums of creation, and all fandoms/original content are welcome

All content is allowed so long as it is tagged appropriately, but if you take the prompts in a NSFW or graphically violent direction, that content must be under a readmore

I'm more than ok with you combining these works with works for other events, so long as the other event also allows combinations

WIPs are perfectly fine and don't need to be complete so long as the prompt is represented

If you're using a pre-started WIP, that's more than fine, but ideally you should be continuing the creation process, not just posting. This can be as simple as reworking details to fit a wintry or holiday theme; as long as you're doing something new, it counts

Posting can be here or the ao3 collection I will open soon, but you don't have to post. Just let me know you've created something based on the prompts

Last but not least, please do not use AI. I don't mind spellcheck or features built into creation platforms, but AI "creation" is an incredibly threatening thing to creators' rights and livelihoods

We're operating on the honor system here, but I'm expecting I can trust y'all - don't let me down!

Should be simple enough! As far as days/prompts, just note them at the top of the post - this should avoid hassle of formatting.

If your work goes on the whump side, tag trigger warnings in your additional, but since tumblr is weird please also put them up with the days/prompts.

Like Mariah Carey, I am quickly unthawing from my ice block, and on Thursday (Thanksgiving in the US) I'll have a brand new set of prompts for you all. Last year took off more than I ever expected, so I'm super excited to see what you guys come up with this year!

The event rules will be pretty much the same as last year, so look out for those reblogs in the next few hours and days. As always, feel free to leave questions and comments, and if you have a favorite Christmas song you'd like me to put in a future playlist, drop a link!

This one is a DickBabs music video for Day 5: Spidey-Bells, Prompt: No Capes AU. Did I stay up until 2am on Christmas making this? Why yes, yes I did. Totally worth it.

This was supposed to be a short drabble about baby Merlin using magic. Somehow, this turned into a 3-shot with Balinor + Hunith's love story, Hunith struggling to be a single parent, and her watching Merlin grow. Warning: angst galore, soft parent-child love, some fluff, and a hopeful and happy ending which somehow makes you cry.

Day 10: Imperfect Christmas: Passing Down Traditions

Nightwing looked across Blüdhaven, sitting on the roof of one of the taller buildings in the city. He leaned back against his hands, closing his eyes as the sun slowly crept up the horizon, golden light just brushing against the snow-covered rooftops.

It was quiet and late — actually, no, it was early by now — but he wasn't quite ready to go back to his apartment just yet. He took another deep breath, opening his eyes to watch the colours slowly bloom across the horizon. He didn't usually stay out this long, especially in the wintertime, considering how cold it got, but he'd been feeling restless lately, needing to do something and unsure as to what, leaving him to patrol for longer and longer times.

It was only from his years of training with the literal freaking Batman and his own instincts that kept him from jumping at the sound of light footsteps behind him.
