The batkids physically lashing out at Bruce when they get angry because they know that he knows that they want him to duck away and not actually get hit.
But one day a Bruce who doesn't move. Doesn't duck the blow or twist so that it hits his chest instead of his ribs, who doesn't catch their wrist before they can make contact, because hes at his breaking point.
Because maybe this time he’s crossed the line and this time they don't want him to duck. Maybe this time they want to make contact and hit him for making the same mistake over and over and over again and maybe,
even though Dick gives him plenty of warning when he rocks back on his heels before throwing the first punch, he wants Bruce to know that.
And maybe the kids have a moment of shock, of horror, as they watch their fists, their staff, the butt of their gun, swing wide, and
Bruce does nothing, just stands there motionless, no hands raised to block, no twisting away to dodge, just makes eye contact with them and its too late to pull back, to soften the blow because its always been this dance so they never had to pull punches with him- because he was always fast enough- and theres nothing to do but watch in horror as their fist slams against his unprotected jaw. As the staff explodes against his ribs. As the gun collides heavily with his temple.
And the shock and horror as Bruce sacks to the floor, or stumbles, hands moving to staunch the flow of blood, or to cradle the injury, but watch in even further horror as he does no move away. As he just stays and waits for the next blow, the next hit, just waits and is willing to take it.
Because he hates himself that much. Because he’s crossed the line too many times and if they aren't willing to blame him for it he’ll do it himself.
Idk. angst on the brain... or smth

Never drew two guys in a box before… it’s really hard guys. I tried my best😔

You love to see it.
Brucie Wayne accidentally killing the joker
This happens before Red Hood is revealed as Jason, but after he shows up. Bruce is at a gala and has been very stressed lately, which is why he was so caught off guard with the Joker arriving. A big thing about today? It’s Jason’s adoption day anniversary. Bruce is barely clinging to being good.
However, Joker has a new laughing gas that he thought would make everyone fall into a catatonic state of laughter, striking a blow against all of Gotham’s elite.
That’s what he thought it would do.
Instead, it lowered inhibitions and increased their emotions. It also reduced their ability to think things through. Doing this to Bruce, who is stressed with Red Hood making moves and Justice League stuff getting more stressful and it being the anniversary of the day he could finally welcome his beautiful boy into the family, only to be face to face with the reason he lost his kid?
It only takes one comment about the old Robin for Bruce to go feral.
He isn’t thinking things through, isn’t focused on how hard he is hitting things, or where they are moving until he’s on a balcony with the Joker, and he’s distantly aware he’s been screaming about the clown having done enough-
Everyone watches, spellbound, as Brucie Wayne, under the influence of this new gas, pitches both the Joker and himself off the balcony, twenty stories above the ground.
Red Hood catches Brucie Wayne.
No one catches the Joker.
The morning papers scream about how the Joker died from Gotham’s prince being drugged, and how the city’s new crime lord kidnapped Brucie before he could die.
Everyone in Gotham is in disarray.
Dick is panicking after seeing the headline. (He was in Bludhaven.)
Tim is cursing himself. (He was home sick with the flu.)
Jason is struggling with his emotions.
Alfred is loading his shot gun.

LOUDER!!!!!!!!!!!
"Dick had to take care of Bruce and teach him emotion"
"Tim had to mentally support Bruce when he became Robin"
Shut the fuck up, they did not. They did not have to do shit. Bruce learned from raising Dick and having Dick around, Dick did not have to take care of Bruce or shit. He learned from Dick behaving lile a kid and having to deal with that, not from Dick taking his hand and teaching him. Tim literally only had to be there for Bruce to be better, it is explained in A Lonely Place of Dying that Bruce needs a child to take care of, and that's what Tim is, a child Bruce can take care of. They weren't parentified to take care of Bruce instead of him taking care of their emotional and mental wellbeing. HE TOOK CARE OF THEIR EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL WELLBEING. Damn, with Tim, he does it when his parents don't. With Dick, it's the whole point how Bruce took him to take care of his emotional and mental wellbeing because nobody did for Bruce, and Bruce succeeded.
Stop infantilizing autistic adults. Bruce being autistic and having difficulties with communication, emotions and relationships because of it doesn't mean his kids were the one taking care of him. It means his kids had to learn how it is to interact with an autistic or neurodivergent person.
Bruce being well only when he has a kid to take care of is what is difficult for the kids, because it makes the process of becoming an adult more difficult when your dad needs a kid.
I challenge y'all to be able to talk about Bruce being mentally ill without painting it as a burden to his family, because that's the only way you ever do it.
