winter dad and his summer children

lore fact: Eddie’s bday is Feb 28th. At the end of winter just similarly to how the mystery twins are born at the end of summer! (August 31st)! very intentional parallel, gonna be tons of winter theming with Eddie :]

Remembering few pages in the book of bill does hit differently considering the next day in a couple hours soon— Ford didn’t seem too ecstatic over his and Stan’s birthday? Definitely it’s the loneliness, but importantly… Fathers Day does take place on the same day, June 15th.

Not only the twins go on through their birthday without each other, they also have Filbrick, their father, who they probably have to share celebrating the day over, yet…

He doesn’t seem to be in frequent contact with either of them.

Filbrick not talking with Stan is very explanatory, considering that he… did kick him out. But Ford? Had Filbrick ever talked with him? Ford had empathized in Journal 3 and Book of Bill that he has been lonely during his time in Gravity Falls, so that does indicate a “no”. That really means that what Filbrick has said really put the idea that to make up for their worth, they have to work on making big money in his eyes.

Ouch, can’t imagine how awful they both feel on that day. Not only the things they probably do to celebrate their birthday is no more nor they have anyone to celebrate it with, imagine how they would see other people with their own dads, all happy on that day. The one who treats them badly yet they still admire as their own dad doesn’t even try to be that dad.
