Neil Gaiman Tumblr FAQ: Good Omens
Tumblr questions that Neil Gaiman has already answered.
Yes, it does have some Neil-provided info of S2. But, it is spoiler leak-free! (It also does not have spoilers from early screenings of S2.)

Iām excited about Good Omens 2 and I was already going through Neil Gaiman's blog ( @neil-gaiman ). I initially made it for me and my friends for reference, but then decided to go ahead and throw it out into the Tumblr void, too. I hope it helps.
I made my own FAQ about this here (please check it before messaging me): OrpiKnight's FAQ FAQ

the new solangelo book SUCKED. hereās why
(all my personal opinion)
as a queer person whoās been invested in the pjo universe and solangelo in particular since around 2015, i cannot tell you how excited i was for āthe sun and the starā. i was so sure we were about to get another rick masterpiece full of action, rich character detailing and fun, realistic mythology trivia; imagine my disappointment to open the book to almost 400 pages of the DULLEST, most untrue to character story iād certainly ever gotten from rick, and possibly most other authors.
first off, nico. what the hell did they do to you. nico, a depressed teen whoās sister and mum died when they were 10 years old, with enough angst and trust issues to fill the river styx, turned into this stereotypical gay gen z caricature of his former self. iām all for letting nico be a kid and be happy, but the turnaround of his character in this INCREDIBLY short time frame for no real given reason apart from his relationship with will (which, hello, romance doesnāt fix mental health issues) is just so unrealistic and tbh it really emotionally distanced me from his character arc, his emotions and his journey. i just didnāt feel like this was nico. it was some imposter who had been given a vague description of his character.
secondly, will. the reason i liked will in pjo and hoo was his chill. his laidback personality with a constant smile and welcoming arms. i thought nico and will worked because will balanced nico, he calmed him, he figured out solutions. but in this book, he became the most boring, cardboard character i think iāve ever read. think jason in his absolute worst moments.
thirdly, the plot. 1) why the book marketed as a trip to tarturus when they donāt even get there until half way through. and when they get there, tarturus is WAY less scary/intimidating than weāve seen previously in HOH (one of my all time fave riordan books). 2) iām sorry but this book was just entirely fan-catering, money getting for me. no real action or cohesive storyline, just a focus on solangeloās relationship that this book doesnāt exactly help me to love.
finally, i just miss rickās input. i think itās great that he consulted with a queer author, but i get the sense especially with how busy rick has been with the tv show and the new trio book etc that this book wasnāt really a riordan book, it definitely felt a bit more like this book had been authored by the queer author primarily, which is ok but i read the book for rickās writing, which i really enjoy and wasnāt necessarily reading for this other author.
anyway iām sure thereās more iām annoyed about that i might post later but i donāt remember right now so that it haha

ik this is a pjo page but i need to put this somewhere so im gonna give you guys my queer analysis of ā18ā by one direction, idk if these thoughts are original or not but i came up with them on my own so yeah :)
queer stuff in 18 by one direction
i got a heart and i got a soul, believe me i will use them both
bascially a commentary on his humanity despite his queerness- he isnāt undeserving of love simply bc it isnāt cishet
we made a start, be it a false one i know
possibly a reference to how open harry and louis were in the video diaries and 2010-2011 era about their close bond. could also refer to simply harry and louisā perhaps forced closeting, despite maybe having been out/open to family and friends at the time of the formation of 1d. shows the regression of their abilities to express their sexual orientation.
baby i donāt want to feel alone
possibly referring to the loneliness that comes with being closeted, and the isolation you can feel from your peers and society at large.
so kiss me where i lay down, my hands press to your cheeks
i donāt know if this is intentional, but this line, specifically the wording places a more traditionally feminine role on the singer- being ādominatedā almost as they lie down almost āsubmissivelyā, thus implying perhaps a more traditionally masculine partner.
a long way from the playground
this āplaygroundā mentioned i actually believe is metaphorical wording for the x factor show itself. the show was the boysā introduction to the world of pop and the music industry and they were just at the age where they were starting to leave childhood, meaning as they grew and matured the x factor show was really a āplaygroundā for the boys to muck around in a bit and learn the ropes to the industry while growing into young adults.
i have loved you since we were 18, long before we both thought the same thing
louis met harry when he was 18, but he met eleanor later, aged 20. incidentally, harry has been seen at several shows shouting ā16ā over the line ā18ā which is when he met louis. ed sheeran, who worked on the song said that he wrote the song āfrom their [the bandās] perspectiveā. i donāt think itās too much of a stretch from that to assume that he would be writing from the perspective of louis, seeing as louis was the only boy who was 18 at the time of the bandās creation.
to be loved, and to be in love, and all i can do is say that these arms were made for holding you
honestly this sounds like a defiance of religion to me. a common argument of christians and indeed other religions is that god did not intend for queerness, and he made everyone straight, so being queer is defying his will and is therefore a sin. to me, this sounds like a clear criticism of religion-based homophobia from a queer perspective.Ā
i wanna love like you made me feel, when we were 18
from my point of view, this is basically a confession from louisā perspective to harry that he would never be able to love someone as much as he loved harry, and that he wanted to return to that state of perpetual happiness and passion they had in the āhoneymoonā phase of their relationship. the way he says āwanna loveā also perhaps provides a hidden double meaning- he couldāve meant it āwant a loveā in which case proving my last point, but if in fact he meant āwanna loveā this could perhaps be euphemism for s3x, and the fact that other people (probably specifically women) donāt turn on louis like harry does.Ā
