According to Grammarphobia, “Esq.” is not only for gentlemen. However, if you’re using the honorific as part of your signature, you may be overdoing it. Read more to learn how usage varies per location, and whether or not you should be including it in your title.

If you’re a serious writer, you don’t want to lose research notes, finished works or the countless drafts and in-progress work you’ve set aside for a different time. It’ll be worth your time to read Robin Rivera’s “bugout” tips for authors.

My advice to aspiring poets is to find a community of other poets who are willing to read one another’s work. And to read widely, in a variety of time periods and cultures, to identify which traits of poems are appealing and which aversive. And what can be stolen.

What an odd thing a diary is: the things you omit are more important than those you put in.

Take another look at the psychology of appealing to others, via Brain Pickings, under the tutelages of author Maria Popova and Ben Franklin. As you read through the article, see if you recognize familiar patterns in your own life experience.
While some of us are more naturally inclined to this phenomenon, others may gain valuable insight.
"Brain Pickings — which remains ad-free and supported by readers — is a cross-disciplinary LEGO treasure chest, full of pieces spanning art, design, science, technology, philosophy, history, politics, psychology, sociology, ecology, anthropology, and more; pieces that enrich your mental pool of resources and empower combinatorial ideas that are stronger, smarter, richer, deeper and more impactful. Please enjoy."

The title here contains my descriptions of two poems recently read and enjoyed. Enjoy #poetry? I follow a student from Alabama (at least I think it's Ala.) who makes a habit to read his #poems and post them at YouTube. He's a good one to put on when you're in the mood for poems and want to stream some #audio. One of my favorite #VoicesInPoetry, and usually provides an introduction as well.

Do you have any advice on creating the motivations and wants of a character? I’m afraid all of them for my characters are based around the same kinds of things, so how do you get diversity? And what’s the basis of developing a character’s motivations and wants at all?-...

I've had this question at Quora for months and no one has been able to answer. . . Re: Facebook Pages- Why don't new Facebook page likes show up on count rendered at the top of the page? Also, while analytics show multiple likes on page posts, these do not show up on the page itself for other users (or myself) to see. Why? How do I fix this?
