I feel like we should normalize more "uncommon" gear in the alterhuman comunity. For example my dream gear is having cat claw nails and permanent fangs. Gear isn´t only paws, ears, masks and tail. Although I do love my tail and it makes me feel euforic and all but I would love to have more unique gear (eventhough it is hard to get for me), or for example gear to resemble avians, ungulates, fish etc. I would love to see more

as someone who isn't even aplatonic, why does the arospec community put so much emphasis on the fact that you need platonic bonds and friendships to be happy?? there's infinite types of bonds, it feels hypocritical to try and force a community into a label when that's exactly what we're against.

however.

ive seen so many systems of color get jumped because others assumed that they were white and decided to interrogate them.

and frankly, i don't really think a system of color should have to pull out a badge of sorts to prove that they're not white.

like, there's always a way to work against racism than to assume that every system you meet is white. you should absolutely work against that assumption, it's inherently harmful.

in short: quit assuming racist shit in your attempt to be anti racist, there's other ways to go about it.

I use aplatonic to mean that I don't really get platonic relationships - QPRs, Platonic dating, etc is something that I don't experience and thus can't understand as much as it's explained to me.

I prioritize romantic and sexual relationships over friendships (which by itself are also very confusing to me haha), but I can have friends, it's just that to me, friendships are confusing as a term. I care about people in a way that is not just platonic, y'know?

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing the asexual/aromantic/aroace pride posts, but I wished they included aplatonics too. I always look at them hoping they'll include me, and a majority forget that aplatonic as a term even exists. :/ Please people mention us more often, it doesn't hurt.
