I know we're only two episodes in, but Tom's performance is the highlight of the episodes. He is just so talented and im glad he's getting his time in the sun. I'll be so annoyed if he doesn't get an emmy nom. I feel like he'll get snubbed cause he's playing a villan, qnd *cough cough* people can't separate the actors from the characters.

But I love him, and I hope others do to.

I think it's time to start Tom Glynn-Carney's Emmy campaign for House of the Dragon (I'll never be over Phil Dunster being snubbed for Ted Lasso, by the way!). Because, MY GOD, Tom's performance in last night's HOTD absolutely stunned me. The emotional depths of it. The physicality of it. Just outstanding.

And it's so successful because Aegon is not a good man. He's not, BUT Tom's performance is so visceral and humanizing that you catch yourself feeling for this character. It means the words are great on the page, and Tom Glynn-Carney is putting his all into this role. Gosh, I can't wait to see where this character goes next just so I can see Tom continue to evolve as a performer alongside Aegon. It's so good. I can't stop thinking about it. And the added levels of Aegon and Helaena's dynamic and Phia Saban's breathtaking performance? UGH. It's incredible. Just wow.

And, yes, I know I've said I'm not caught up. I'm still not. But I'm curious and watched the episode out of context, which should tell you how much I loved Tom's performance. I had to write about it somewhere, and maybe I'll wax poetic a bit more for my newsletter as I catch up because I've got this dragon show on my mind.
