why i dislike RCTA/ECTA

Info: I am willing to discuss and my opinion is ever changing, feel free to have a conversation in the comments. Please be respectful and use common sense. Do not attack anyone. No matter if your pro or anti RCTA/ECTA if you use a slur, dox or harass anyone you are disgusting.

RCTA/ECTA is a difficult for me. I do not believe you can claim slur against a race if that is not your race. That is racism as you were not born with that prejudice. However I think that it is not wrong to identify with a culture outside your own. It’s not OK to claim to be that culture as that is not what you were born us and that is what you were not you do not have to deal with the struggles. I wish race did not have such a strong impact on our society as it shouldn’t matter what you look like in your skin, color to base around with fashion and what personality traits you have. I feel RCTA is not by definition valid, however, in certain circumstances, I can understand the use of it. No culture can be summed up with superstars and popular stereotypes. That’s disgusting however, if you were genuinely interested in a culture or race and you feel more comfortable being around people of that race or culture that’s 100% valid. It does not make you that race. But in some ways it should mean something. In all my times traveling around. I’ve met multiple different people of different races, but I would never say that I am black. I would never say that I am Asian, because I myself am white. I do not have the right to claim their culture as my own. But if I adopt pieces of their culture, it’s not appropriation and if I do it correctly. There’s a difference between RCTA and cultural appreciation. If you find a lot of joy in eastern Japanese culture, such as Japan or Korea, as I’ve seen more common RCTA. Recognize that they are not just the stereotypes that you see online being Asian is not all of the stereotypes that you want to push onto them. It is a race and not a personality. if you find genuine joy in learning about the culture learn about with the good and bad, do not claim to be certain race that you were not, and you can enjoy their activities.

in conclusion RCTA is not valid. It is the way to identify and respect certain religions, certain races in certain things like that however, you cannot claim someone’s race or ethnicity as your own. You do not have the struggles in the life experiences of someone who is that race and you never will respect is not the same as taking their identity
