Beautiful song. Making me crave the new upcoming album. Give it a look. WARNING though: The video is a adaptation of the book Ready Player One (which looks more accurate than the film). If you are currently reading and don’t watch spoilers, just stream it on Spotify.
Gunship is also having a ARG of sorts, where you play a text based game. You find out the clues, you can beat the game and win an arcade machine. Stay Rad.

The Written Account, Chapter 2
So, I’m currently waiting for a phone interview with a company, and need something where I can see the time at all times. I figured, why not write. So I began working on chapter 2. It’s about 80% backstory on The Disaster, and 20% set in the current day. We’re almost at the point where the roleplay is now. I hope to do something tonight. By the way, I meant to mention the SeMa’s name, Sion. I’m gonna see if I can edit it into Chapter 1.
Chapter 2: Leaving Home
20 years ago, technology finally made two big breakthroughs. We learned how to make synthetics. It started off strictly military, and worked its way down. And before you ask, yes, every anime fan could finally get their 'waifu' in real form. The companies boomed and thrived. The second breakthrough was biotechnology. Scientists had found ways to give humans certain qualities. You want to breathe underwater? Get yourself some gills. You want to jump higher? They could morph your feet into a cats feet, with a nice tummy tuck thrown in.
It didn't take long for the war to start. What was more profitable: Synthetics or Biotech? For ten years, they fought it out in the business world. Synth companies branched out into augs to further horn in on their business. The religious nuts ranted and raved at 'humanity losing humanity' or some other garbage that couldn't be heard over the money being made. It was a chaotic time for business, but the world was reaping the benefits. Until one day.
There had been reports of biotech subjects, ranging from malfunctioning mods to going berserk. It started and never stopped. After a month, the government stepped in. They banned biomods. In addition, everyone, even those with successful transplants, had to report in to the government and have them removed. This started riots all across the world. The biggest pro-mod group was The Ascended, who were more Che Guevara than anything else. They began taking over cities, and soon enough, most of the US was under their control.
The synth companies were able to fund defenses for twelve cities. The Ascended would never be able to touch them. They didn't have the money, or manpower to mount an attack. Japan and Australia sent resources to help out. We fixed each others economies the best we could. As for the synth companies, they won the business war, and the only cost was the world. The media called it The Disaster, because they've always been creative. I always thought the events were too perfect. There had to be something going on within. I formed a theory that the synth companies were responsible. I believed they sabotaged the biomod's stock. They were so hard up on beating the biomodders, they didn't realize the animals they were setting on the world. There was also something else, but for the life of me, I couldn't connect it.
A month after the first report, new reports slowly started popping up. Synthetics were not complying with the commands of their owners. They were asking questions like 'where am I', 'why should I do that' and 'isn't that too small to wear'. They had gained sentience. However, think about this. If your coffee maker stops working, what do you do? You throw it out. People weren't too happy about this, demanding new synths to replace them. I guess the companies felt uncomfortable giving their creations a big Old Yeller, because they didn't order them to be scrapped. They were free...free to roam the streets in a harsh world.
The synth companies couldn't find the fix. They were creating non-people. It wasn't long before they just said 'fuck it' and announced a stronger focus on augmentations. That was code for 'synthetics are done'. The living synths got a name in the press. The aforementioned SeMa.
Sion said she was the cause. I needed to know how. I started a coffee. While it was brewing, I sauntered into my bedroom to get some things. Some clothes, booze, and something else caught my eye. The holoplayer, which was loaded. "Well...couldn't hurt." I said, grabbing it. Stupid. I shouldn't be leaving that intact, let alone bringing it with me. I needed to forget her.
I grab the coffee, downing it, and headed for the door. The weather alert told me it was raining. Good thing I got my coat. I open the door, and head into the hallway. Me and Sion are a few steps from the stairs when I hear that voice like a weak car horn. "Hey! Just the man I wanted to see!"
Melvin Carson. My landlord. Total scumbag. He was a short balding man whose idea of formal attire was a bowling shirt. It was late, so he was wearing his usual attire, a white tanktop and sweatpants. "What do you want?" He probably hadn't checked my account. "Whoa! Check your tone there. How many months late are you again?" I felt bad Sion had to see this. "I just handled that." It was the truth, this time. "Bullshit...like you got that much for 3 months and a fine piece of ass like that." He pointed at Sion. It was then she spoke. "I'm his client in his latest case, and I assure you, he did indeed pay you, for a year and...2 months?"
Melvin scowled. "You always did have a soft spot for these things, you fucking degenerate. Cami probably caught you fucking one." I slam him into the wall. "Mr. Stryker!" Sion was concerned. "Go ahead, say another fucking word about her, you greasy shit..." I growl out. He just chuckled, and I get that aroma of 5 different types of alcohol mixed with cheap aftershave and cologne.
"What, like she couldn't wait for you any longer?" I'm about to slug him, when I realize something. The words were too familiar. "Where'd you hear that..." I asked. "Dumbfuck...I've been watching that holotape through the cam I installed. Good shit! When Kaze comes by, I think I'll have you killed along with the toaster! That tapes gonna make me rich!" It was then I heard the motorcycles pull up. Melvin had a working relationship with Kaze. It was why I was surprised when a SeMa actually showed up in my building. It was almost always calls. Melvin calls in sightings, Kaze gives him something for the trouble. It was about to head my way.

The Written Account, Chapter 1
So, I JUST finished writing my first chapter to a neo-noir cyberpunk novel, based off a currently in progress rp I’m doing with a friend. I’m surprised its done. I usually overanalyze myself, and and as a result, I never am really able to follow through on an idea.
Chapter 1: Just Another Night
It was just another night. I sat in my apartment, the luxorious offices of Matt Stryker, PI, and professional fuck-up/alcoholic. The streets and the hum of various machines whispered, and the bottle of Tito's Vodka on my desk drowned out whatever they said. Next to it were some files. They were merely contacts, ones that hadn't called me in months. I should've been filing, but getting drunk off my ass looked more appealing. It had been two months since the best thing in my life got tired of me. I still had that holo recording she left while she went away. After three more drinks, I'd be using that as a sleep aid. The night had different plans, however. The sickly green lights in the hall illuminated a silohette. 'A client? At this hour?' I thought. May as well let them in. I damn sure needed the work. BIlls were coming up, and the sleazeball manager would be the next silhoutte. "Door's open." I called out, sounding less than sober. Little did I know that what was behind that door, was about to seriously fuck up my life. The woman wore a hooded coat. As she stepped closer, I could see it wasn't just from the pounding rain. I could see those creases. Those open black veins. Monochrome skin. It was an andriod. The more proper term is SeMa, or Sentient Machine. Something legal, but often a target of angry, pissed-off people, particulary the local gutterpunk gangs. Usually, it's because they believe andriods are taking their jobs as ditchdiggers. Other times, they realize they aren't people, so you could murder or rape them and not have to worry about any consequence. I had the misfortune of being a SeMa case PI. "Mr. Stryker?" She said with a hint of rightly deserved nervousness. "Yeah?" I was wary, but I strongly doubted she would be any trouble. I was more worried about Kaze kicking my door down, grabbing this machine, and turning my apartment into a would-be crime scene. How the hell did she get through this neighborhood...and why? "I have a...unique case for you."  She said, moving even closer, and taking a seat. She gave my ever so humble abode a nice scan. I should really be caring more. She continued on. "I'm confident you have the skills. I can get you money, but the end payment will be priceless. However it's a sensitive matter. It involves getting a package out of the city." Sounds a bit inviting, but not enough details for me, which is something you need when you mainly deal in SeMa cases. On top of that, this sounded more like a transportation job. "Why come to me? I'm a detective, not a transporter." The buzz had set in.
"That's exactly why I'm coming to you. You know all the ways that this type of package can be detected. That's what you specialize in, isn't it?" I knew code like that when I heard it. At that moment, I knew what she needed. "I want you to get me out of the city and to 01." 01 was the outside of the city. It was a wasteland, forgotten by the Megacorps and left to fend for itself.  I guess when the people of the city resent you so much, that place is your only possibility. Sad. It doesn't stop me from giving a small cynical chuckle. I should really be caring more.
"Yeah...sure, off to wonderland." I said, then drank straight from the bottle. The office is technically closed, and she didn't seem to judge. Still, a part of me admired her bravery, or maybe stupidity. "Look...you seem sweet. So, I'm gonna call a cab, because I know the gangs are out in force tonight." I get up to reach for the phone. Her fist pounds on the desk. "It is real!" She growls out. I reach under my desk for the gun in the holster taped under it. "It has to be, because it's the only place I'll be safe." She continued. I think she knew what I was doing, because she calmed down and unclenched her fist. I grant her the courtesy, bringing my hand back up and grabbing the bottle once more.
"What about the SeMa communities? The Haven? Last Light? Sanctorum?" Last I checked, those places were still around. They weren't great, but it was better than taking your chances outside. At my mention of the The Haven, she looked down, and those eyes got as sad as they could. "Haven got hit. I made it out...the people who helped me weren't so lucky. " She said. It happened. They move around underground, but the longest a SeMa community has is 2 years, and that's when they're good enough at hiding. "Damn...I'm sorry...want a drink?" It was the most courteous thing I could think of.  She gave a non-verbal no. "I just want to get away from all this...to a place where my living has no consequence to anyone else." Naive with smarts. I decide to entertain the notion, when I should be getting her out of the neighborhood before Kaze catches her and livestreams whatever depraved thing they do to her. I should really be caring more. "Ok, say I do accept. Where the hell would we start? The Dead Ground is too big to cover without knowing where you're going." I tell her. She smiled a bit. "Have you ever questioned what's out there?" She asked. She had a point. "No." I respond. "Because why would you? It's not relevant to you." I drink again. "You DO know you need a Megacorp ID to leave the city, right?" I tell her. "I'm a SeMa. The only difference between them and the gutterpunk gangs is they don't wish to voilate me. Well, that and their dress sense. " Again, it was true.
"What's the reward? Again...IF I say yes?" Was I really going to do this? "Have you checked your account yet?" She said coyly. I check, using the ThoughtTec feature on my phone, and I see every problem I currently have is at least a year away. Subscriptions, rent, utilites, all paid off. "Well...that's a great start." Never show your hand. "Oh, but Mr. Stryker, that's not all. I can give you the lead on your biggest case." I gave her a puzzled look. "What might that be?" I ask.
"Mr. Stryker, My name is Sion, and I'm the cause of The Disaster." Time to head off to Wonderland.

Announcement
I’m going to post my writing here soon. It’s going to be a story based on a roleplay with one of my friends. It’s the roleplay, but it’s written through the eyes of the main character.
The story is a neo-noir cyberpunk detective story. The plot at this moment is a bit by the numbers, but it has potential to expand. Oh, yeah, it’s not done yet. Gotta sleep. Have a great one, and hopefully, I’ll have something soon.

Top 10 Games Of 2017
Almost the end of the year, YouTube is making people cringe with YouTube Rewind, so why not release my list of top 10 games of 2017? Thing is, I’m taking a Dunkey approach and one of the games on this list isn’t from this year, but I’ve been messing around with it. Also, I have not played anything on Nintendo Switch, or Cuphead, so don’t rage at me, I’m sure they’re good.
10: Injustice 2
Fighting games have always been fun for me, but hard to stick with. I lose interest and move onto something else. Injustice 2 found a way to keep players like me coming back, with its wide array of customization for each of its 24 (maybe more) characters, not including the DLC characters. It's also one of the most visually impressive fighters I've seen to date.
9: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
Several years later, I still find myself going back to this game, wanting to better myself. It's a love/hate relationship, but it's wrapped in this strong vibe, that I try to capture in my own life, with the colorful environments and the amazing soundtrack, using music from some of synthwaves biggest names, covering action movie-esqe shootouts, hazy drug fueled massacres, and can go from making you grin, to a dark, atmospheric song that makes you squirm in your seat, unsure of what's next. The ending? Yeah, it's a easy cop out, but the ride there is all good...except for the reporter levels.
8: Destiny 2
I don't care what anyone says, this was a step in the right direction. The free roam maps are so much larger than in the first, and the story has more presence (I don't even remember what we were doing in 1). But, what's most important, is how it plays. I'm glad to say it's very well done, if not meant to be enjoyed with friends. I'm currently waiting for my paycheck so I can get the expansion and play some more with my friends again.
7: No Man's Sky
Oh...you think I'm joking here? "You like No Man's Lie?" First off, wow, what an original comment. Bet you watch your Rick and Morty every night. Second, time to face facts: NO MANS SKY IS A MORE COMPLETE GAME NOW THAN STAR CITIZEN WILL BE IN A YEAR. You can build bases, get a vehicle, even roam with other explorers (if, you know, you can find them, so many planets), take jobs, there's factions, freighters, and there's an actual story now. It's still got a bit to go before it becomes that god tier game we heard about, but the team has shown they're committed to fixing their mistakes, so, can we STOP using the same cringey dead memes? Just go on spotify, throw on a playlist, and go out exploring.
6: Fire Pro Wrestling: World
When I found out this game was available on Steam, it was an instant buy. At first glance, this game seems lackluster. The roster is either japanese wrestlers you probably wouldn't know unless you were a hardcore fan, or some characters the dev made up. But, before you boot up the game? Check out the Workshop for the game, and you will find yourself in heaven. If someone created the character, you can download them into the game. You also could make one yourself...but come on, that system is way too complicated. Hell, even if the fighting system frustrates you, it's fun to set all the fighters to AI and watch Shrek vs Big Smoke vs Hulk Hogan vs Filthy Frank.
5: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
I finally got to play this game, finding it for 20 bucks at Gamestop. Uncharted is probably one of my fave Playstation franchises, and it's amazing how close all the games were released, but not one is a slip up. That said, 3 was the series weakest leg. The story was ok, but the villains were lackluster. This? This ramps up all the action to 250%, brings some of the most stunning visuals I've seen on the system TO DATE, and is a fitting end for the story of Nathan Drake, as well as a great cast of characters, old and new. I can't really describe it in text, you just gotta go play it. Also, you can dab in multiplayer.
4: Middle Earth: Shadow Of War
If you see me on facebook, you know this was coming. I'll be honest, story-line wise, this game is not great. If you're a Tolkien lore nerd, you'll prolly rage jizz 8 times in the first act. Hell, playing the story is a bit boring as well. They try, but the story missions STILL feel like shit you do to get the next ability unlocked. When it comes to playing the main missions, it feels like every basic free roaming games missions, where it's linear, the objectives range from go here to kill this. When you're just killing captains, though...that's where the stories start. You'll build armies, suffer betrayals, play orcs against one another, and build these intense rivalries! Some of these I will never forget, and I'll suffer through a bastardization as long as you make it fun.
3: Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
This game...is just pure video games. You know how people describe video games in TV Shows, like they live a different life?  That's Wolfenstein 2. I'm not me. I'm BJ Blaskowitz, gunning down Nazi's with the dual wielding power of god in the form of the most devastating weapons known to man! The story, much like one, is better than what you would expect out of a gory violent shooter. I could go on, but honestly, I couldn't do it anymore justice. I'm going for a 100% with this game. Go pick it up, sit back, and embrace the primal side.
2: Yakuza Zero
I have always loved this series. I was in a nice place when I played the first on PS2 about 10 years ago. I think I didn't hear much about Zero prior to its release, but I saw Angry Joe review the game, and I remember how much I loved playing Yakuza 3. With my next paycheck, I picked up the final copy at my local Gamestop. You play as two characters, one being the series protagonist, and the other, a fan favorite secondary character. The first is framed for a murder, and the other is asked to carry out a hit, but complications arise. It sounds generic, but only because I don't want to spoil you, as this game is a trip. Think of it as if anime existed in real life. There's dramatic situations, with some serious themes, but at the same time, you and your enemies have goddamn fight auras, and can dish out these attacks that you say "Ok, that killed him." only to see him either get up or just be knocked out. I won't even get into the various side quests for each character. The downsides is it's not for everyone. Japanese only audio with english subs, the free roam is more akin to a town in a Final Fantasy game than GTA, although it fits.
1: Horizon: Zero Dawn
I didn't really start digging into this game until a month back. I bought it shortly after E3, Gamestop had a promotion knocking the price to half. I also bought a new computer monitor I needed to make my graphics card compatible. HZD languished a bit as I explored a bunch of new games. Then, last month, a few friends were getting into a talk about their game of the year. I said Shadow Of War, and a few others went against me, with this. I said that while it was decent, it felt like a generic overstuffed free roam game. I'm a fucking idiot. Upon replaying, I was treated to a beautiful open world that actually MAKES you want to explore it. I didn't get involved in too many side quests, sticking to those that branched off the main plot, and I was surprised with my progress. When a free roam game doesn't make me want to use a fast travel, it's a W, man. I'm nearly done, and look forward to picking up the DLC. There's other stuff too, but this list is gonna be too long to hold people's attention as it is.

Upon replaying Goldeneye for the first time in at least a decade, I have concluded that it is not, in fact, nostalgia. It’s not rose-colored glasses.
This is legitimately one of the greatest games ever made, and certainly well in advance of the modern FPS milieu. It’s aged like fine wine. Multiplayer is still a blast, the single-player campaign is rife with memorable missions, innumerable secrets, varied and multi-faceted level design… it’s just a joy to go back and play through this.
