Roses

I’d seen dried rose petals in the back of her phone case the other day, when she was fiddling for a 10 rupees note. It was our first date, I’d held back my thought of asking her where it was from? I’d imagined if it’s from a past lover whom she treasured.

I never saw those petals again, but the thought was on the back of my mind, building up the courage to ask,scared if what I’d imagined was true.

Fast forward to today, I am offering her a rose, pluck fresh from the garden her family owns back at her home town, relieved to know where the petals came from.

She opened her phone case, blew air into the back of it to remove those petals and slowly squeezed in the petals from the rose I’d just offered…staring into my eyes and smiling all the while.

I will never know what those petals meant to her, but at least I mean as much as it did. I’ll take that.

Good things take a lot of time to happen, unless you let it happen to you!

How do you let good things happen? *

1) Believe

Believe that wonderful things can happen at any moment in your life, it doesn't matter if you're not working hard lately, it doesn't matter if you're going through an emotional downhill, or you don't have enough money. Wonderful things are waiting to happen to you, and it will.. beleive in it.

2) Say yes

There are a lot of situations in life where you simply say no to an opportunity assuming you're not worth it, or by overthinking what could go wrong. Next time if you get such an opportunity think of the things that could go right, take that leap!

3) Contribute

Although people say that the universe provides for you, more often than less we expect it to happen through people. Today take charge, and make someone happy. Doesn't have to be something big, sometimes just a phone call to a friend to check how they're doing could make all the difference.

By making someone randomly happy, it's now easier to believe that something like that could happen to you ever so suddenly, without any clue.

4) Observe, Imagine

Imagine, you just got to know that something nice is going to happen next week. Imagine the amount of joy it creates in your life throughout the week, how you ignore the little inconveniences that occur through that week and focus on the joy. Yes?

Copy that exercise and repeat, wonderful things are meant to happen year round.. believe that, be grateful!

*These are only few exercises that I've learnt will help in letting good things happen. There can and will be million other ways.

I would always want to be a little sad, a little longing, a whole lot of lost in the abyss kind of person, so that I can really enjoy philosophy and poetry :)

Really not in the mood to be alive today, No..I don't want to die ,who knows I might feel wonderful tomorrow.

And then I made a promise to myself, through all of this, if I do make it out alive, I'm not going to stop there.

I'm going to make myself something wonderful, and lead an aesthetic life.

Most of the joy in childhood came from, not knowing stuff!

The excitement of learning was something else.

Anyone who can keep that excitement going on in their adulthood, truly knows how to do life!!

To an empty place my dreams have sailed and I feel lonely under the shadows of a big banyan tree.

Seated amidst hundred people in a cinema hall, few who I can call friends, I'm lonely staring at the movie screen..the voices disappearing into the void.

A glass of milk lay beside my bed, who kept it for me? I cannot comprehend.

I stand alone by the beach, I feel arms around me and whispers, that ask me to be okay! Endless ocean, endless thoughts.

I wish for someone to hold me right now.

Count my fingers and put their face into it.

I wish someone crawled out of my bed and and sucked me inwards, towards the endless.
