I have lived in a desert for so long that I started to believe that I was cursed to live there till the end of my days. Any effort to leave was met with failure and diversion.

At some point, I even started doubting whether I truly wanted to leave. What if my attempts failed because my heart wasn't actually in it.

But here I stand. Tiny snowflakes touch my face, instantly melting. My nose is burning slightly from the frosty air I breathe in.

I got out! I left the dead sea of sand and dust!

My hands and feet begin to tingle and numb from the cold, and that makes me feel more alive than ever.

I slowly walked through the tall dying grass. I could see a structure looming up ahead. I was so tired, I needed a break.

Life brought me more questions than answers. Is this how it feels to get old? When you are young, you hope you will understand everything a little better and deeper as you grow.

But the truth is, you remain the same wondering child, only with more worries on your mind, and barely any answers.

Are we ever meant to find out why we are here and what is the point of everything we do?
