🖤 Tom Marvolo Riddle — commission for @wrengaunt 🖤
I’ve been itching to paint Tom for ages—and yes, Michael Bublé’s “Sway” was on an endless loop the whole time. Cheers for letting me have a go at him, mate. 🫂 Christmas has come early.

If you're posting online, you open yourself up to all type of criticism. Demanding only positivity and glowing reviews has always been mocked because it's ridiculous to expect absolute control over what people say to you in a public space. If you don't want or dare to have someone calling your fic or art shit (which, if you're avoiding criticism, chances are it is shit), then don't post it online. That's internet 101.
See how this feels strange? Any guesses why?
I’ll tell you if you can’t.
Sure, we can’t technically find anything factually ‘wrong’ with the statements; the mug (and fanfiction) is indeed open to criticism and we can’t, practically speaking, expect to control that. But find someone for me who would not agree that offering technical criticisim of such a piece would be in very poor taste (which was never intented to be presented as or measured against professional work). And then what? Are we not supposed to say that it is in poor taste?
Yikes.

Fanfiction should not be reviewed publicly like traditionally published books, period.
If you want to share your personal impressions with your friend(s) privately and in cofidence, that’s fine.
Any public posts about fandom-works should always be in support of the community/culture/creators—and whatever you don’t like: don’t engage, don’t create, scroll on ‼️
This is fandom etiquette.

Listen, sometimes a ship is less about wanting them to kiss or have sex or whatever, and more about needing them to be so endlessly intertwined and connected to the point where they might as well be one creature.
