HAPPENING NOW: passover seder from our comrades in columbia's liberated zone/gaza solidarity encampment. this encampment is a profoundly religious space. we've seen muslim protesters praying multiple times a day, a christian communion was held, and multiple jewish prayers/celebrations have taken place. solidarity is a beautiful thing, palestine will be free.🖤🇵🇸

Track Freedom Flotilla here:
Please keep Freedom Flotilla on your radar for the next few days!! I hope every activist that is aboard this ship is able to safely deliver aid into Gaza, and that Palestinian people/medical staff on the ground receive ALL this support from every person involved in making this happen.

The Water Transport Workers Federation of India is an affiliate of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), which on February 13 issued a call for solidarity with the people of Palestine. The WFTU, referring to the forthcoming Israeli attacks of Rafah, where over a million and a half displaced Palestinians in Rafah now face the looming threat of an Israeli ground invasion with nowhere safe to go, said in a statement:
“What we demand is that the United Nations and the international community will take urgent decisions to prevent this new Nakba in the Palestinian land. At the same time, we condemn the hypocrisy of the USA and their allies, who pretend to be the protectors of the international law and order, but they silently or openly support this genocide.
The class-oriented trade union movement, once again expresses its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people, and reaffirms the readiness to intensify its actions in every possible means, until the end of the occupation and the liberation of the Palestinian land.”

I saw people do this & adopted it myself, and it’s actually been super helpful—set a daily reminder to do your arab.org click of the day. It has been said ad nauseam at this point, but if each person in the thousands of people who engage on palestine posts clicked on this, we’d be raising thousands in revenue towards humanitarian aid. Don’t think your one little click is unnecessary. It adds up fast—but only if you actually do it.
A lot of people asked how they can help if they don’t have funds to spare. This is the most passive way to raise donations towards Palestinian aid.

Today, I submitted my resignation as director of the Center for Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Although it might at first appear that this choice was driven by the ever-intensifying political attacks against gender studies in Florida, these attacks are precisely why I would have wanted to remain as director. As a genderqueer scholar, I have been deeply committed to defending the center and advocating for the value of our research and teaching. However, I am also an anti-Zionist Jewish scholar, and since October 7, I have experienced unrelenting pressure from the university to disavow my religious practice, my religious community and my ethical commitments.
On January 16, FAU administrators made it explicitly clear to me that to be a leader at the university, I must support Israel. I have chosen to resign from the directorship in order to speak out about what I have experienced, and to add my experience to the hundreds of stories of academics and cultural workers who are being targeted in order to silence criticism of the state of Israel amid its genocidal campaign in Gaza.
one of many many instances of pro palestine voices on college campuses being harassed, doxxed and pressured to take certain political positions by zionist faculty and students, and jewish anti zionists being purposefully targeted and pushed out of their own communities and academic spaces meant for jewish students/faculty

Hi! I was on Instagram recently and stumbled upon Nisreen Shehada's account. Before October 7, Nisreen posted very aesthetic, well crafted baking TikToks/videos (which looked delicious!) Since October 7, she has been sharing her daily life in Gaza.
This is the first reel of hers I saw. It's so important that she is not only documenting her daily life right now (for public record, for memory, for history) but that she is doing it in a format that is so familiar to anyone online right now.
Tumblr media
I think that even well intentioned people can sometimes unintentionally dehumanize groups fighting for justice amidst tragedy. It is vital that we view Palestinians not just as victims or impoverished or assume life has always been this non-stop nightmare. Literally, Nisreen is like so many people I know. Like so many people you know! Just a regular lady who loves baking! Just your friendly neighborhood dentist! Aperson who loves their families. A devoted cat mom. A very stylish dresser.
I love that her page shows how people are living day-to-day now. And I love that it shows her finding moments of joy even in the darkest of times. ❤️
Tumblr media
Please give her account a follow.
Edit to add: I've made a separate account for archiving videos and posts from regular people in Palestine documenting daily life. You can follow it @watermelllonarchive

I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND AN UPDATE ON THIS BOY IN ANY NEWS OUTLET
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source: Defence for children international - Palestine.
Israeli occupation forces unleashed a military attack dog on a four-year-old Palestinian boy in the northern occupied West Bank this week.
The incident occurred during an arrest operation in Balata refugee camp near Nablus on February 4. The dog was unleashed into the Hashash family apartment, attacking 4-year-old Ibrahim Hashash after knocking him from his mother’s arms.
The dog tore his clothes and bit him repeatedly, causing profuse bleeding for about three minutes until Israeli forces intervened.
Ibrahim has been taken to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where he’s expected to receive plastic surgery to repair his injuries.
“Israeli forces routinely show complete disregard, and often contempt, for Palestinian children’s lives and safety. In a hyper-militarized environment where systemic impunity is the norm, kids like Ibrahim will increasingly be targets,” said Ayed Abu Eqtaish, accountability program director at DCIP.
Israeli forces systematically use military dogs to attack Palestinian civilians, including children, during military incursions into Palestinian cities and towns.
I just want to add, what could a child seriously do to the heavily armed soldiers in the West bank?? They're just doing this to fulfill sick and twisted fantasies and horrors.

Regretfully, I had to leave all my books behind. I couldn’t bear to make the choice between my beloveds, so I left them all.   Give them back. Give us back our beds. Give us back our offices. And give us back our books.
Nabil S., from "It Was All Songs: A Letter From Gaza" translated from the Arabic by Sarah Aziza, published in Mizna on February 12th, 2024. You can read the entire essay here.
