Okay is it just me or does it get a little funny when someone presses on you so much asking you if you have a crush because I think it is lmao — my question actually was how do you answer people when they ask you “why you were talking to [whoever that other person was]? do you … like them?” even when you try to explain you don’t “do” crushes (without telling them you’re aro/ace because I’m not doing that yet lol)

Hmm this is indeed a very common predicament, and I remember having to go through it quite a few times myself before I came out! I can reassure you that as you get older, this becomes less and less of a problem because people realize you can talk to others without developing feelings hahah! For now, you can just say "Honestly I just think of them as a friend" or "It's fun hanging out but I can't see myself developing any feelings", and just have them think the person in question is just not your type. I know this doesn't work all the time but it'll get better over time! I have many guy friends now and no one bats an eye.

So I'm kinda questioning me being on the aro spectrum. I couldn't expirence romantic attraction before but then in quartine I have been lately but I'm also sure it's like secondary romantic and also expirence platonic, but I sometimes expirence romantic but I'm sometimes not positive if it's plantonic or not but then sometimes I do, but I want a connection with the person, but I mildly expirence these attractions, it's just not fully. I'm just .... Confusled lol.

Hi myheart! It’s totally normal to be confused, especially as someone on the aromantic spectrum, and I’ve certainly had those moments as well. Usually these feelings become more clear over time. In my personal experience, when I’m feeling some confusing not quite romantic not quite platonic feelings, I label it a “squish”, which is kind of a crush, but not romantic in nature. For me, this term describes platonic or alterous attraction, which is wanting to be emotionally close to someone. I hope this helps! Good luck! <3
