RE-DRAW OF HEKATE
Life has gotten BUSY and I haven't had time nor energy to do much creativity for a long time, so re-drawing is perfect! I browsed through my old work and decided to draw Hekate again. I'll put the old work below this new one (spoiler, it is quite different).

Now for the old one...

I made this one in 2022.

Son of the Sun

Coloured Pencil on Paper
35x25cm
Hello after a long while. I've had a couple days free and this idea has been stuck on my head for WEEKS. I have a whole story I'm planning around this, but it hasn't got very far.
Here is one child of the Sun, Helios, wandering around. It can be dark, especially now in winter AND with all the smokes from factories. Even still, he is bringing his own light for us, no matter how exhausted he may feel.
He can be Apollon, if you will, or any nameless child of Helios. A literal ray of sunshine, all children of our Sun.

Here to let you know I'm still breathing (anxiously)!
I'm not nearly as active here as I wish but life has gotten so busy I barely have time to sleep. Let alone make art, and it really takes its toll on me. I have a big case of Weltschmerz and it has NOT been a dandy couple of months. I feel I have wandered away from the gods and it makes me really, REALLY sad like seriously. It's hard for me to find connection with any deity nowadays...
Anybody who has similar feelings? Or any tips on how to get back to my practice or just ANYTHING at this point?
There's so many pieces I want to make and create but there simply isn't TIME to do ANYTHING but work. Modern life eh?

Just popping here to say that I support Palestine. Anyone who thinks otherwise, I advice you to take your time to research what is really happening.
You don't need much information to know that what Israel is doing, is so, so wrong. I have no other way of helping, other than boycotting. I don't have a big platform, but I will not stay silent.

ARTEMIS AND APOLLON

I have a lot going on. I'm moving and I have to get a job (it's seriously not easy). So I haven't had much time to do anything, but here's a quick drawing of the Divine Twins!

Agreed! But sometimes I struggle with HOW I veil, since I don't want to be insensitive to other cultures and religions... I haven't quite found materials on how the Greeks or even Romans used to veil, even tho they did do that. I don't know how popular veiling even was but still :))

Thank you!! I myself have a habit of veiling, so i tend to draw some goddesses veiled as well. For me Hera is like the matron of veiling, but Hestia and Artemis also remind me of veiling😊

HERA'S WRATH (redraw)
DIGITAL
I keep going around in circles with my art, bear with me. My relationship with my grandma hasn't healed yet, because of my religion and veiling habits, so Hera is my emotional support here. She is still being disrespected by my family, and this is devotional art for her because of it. I do try to make connection with my grandma again, but she's so very stubborn, and old, so I'm scared I don't have much time with her anymore. This is me coping with it all :') Quite an improvement compared to the last one I think.
✨ ✨ ✨
I'll put this here just for comparison.

NUUSKAMUIKKUNEN

VERY MIXED TECHNIQUE
Not like my usual artwork. I made this using a woodpanel as the "canvas", I sketched with a rock from the Sea and carved the shapes with my Swiss knife. Yeah I don't know how I got there, but I think it looks nice, and it's a pretty big thing too. Almost a meter tall. Been watching Moomins lately and got inspired✨ Yes that's Snufkin in Finnish. Cute ain't it😂

ZEUS (with better pictures)

I got a camera as a gift, still learning to use it, but the difference between my phone's camera and this is MASSIVE like LOOK AT THIS! Compared to the pixely mess pictures I posted before of the same drawing wow

This isn't an ask so it's okay if you don't respond to it. But I just found your blog and honestly I'm very thankful I did. I saw you and Khaire's posts in response to an anon asking about Zeus and his "history" and it's given me a whole new perspective on the matter. And I feel bad as I never bothered to look into him past the myths I had heard.
In fact in all honesty, just an hour ago I was looking into the stories involved with his son Hermes and I was putting the blame of his supposed actions towards women onto Zeus, saying he wouldn't have been taught any better because of who his father is. Which frankly was a terrible thing to be saying, but with my narrative on Zeus I thought it was justified. But I'm realizing now that likely neither of them did what was said, and was just the writings of nasty men who couldn't help but deface the gods for their own fantasy.
I'm just thankful you and Khaire took the time to debunk and reshape the perspective on Zeus. And in turn the perspective of the other gods involved in those sort of myths.
And to end on a lighter note, your art is wonderful! I'm excited to see more of it!
I love this! It's awesome that me and @khaire-traveler were able bring another point of view for people! Warms my heart, and thank you for the compliments🧡
