I have a lot going on. I'm moving and I have to get a job (it's seriously not easy). So I haven't had much time to do anything, but here's a quick drawing of the Divine Twins!

Artemis and Apollo each has a collection of coffee mugs with their favorite animals on them that they have gotten from each other on their birthdays. You can't change my mind on this.

the fact that the first time we probably meet Chat, he is going to be standing beside the West Rose Window of the Notre Dame Cathedral. The fact that this particular stained glass of this window depicts Madonna with the Child........ Saviors of storm-wracked ships, tamers of horses, and protectors of travelers, the Dioskouroi (Divine Twins) appear to sailors during storms in the guise of St. Elmo's fire--an electrical discharge which creates a glow about the mast-head and rigging of ships. Every year on July 15th the ancient Romans celebrated the feast of Castor and Pollux, their Roman counterparts.

ok I like my Divine Twins tanned just like the next person but--

imagine Florence Pugh as Artemis & Jamie Campbell Bower as Apollo. both have fair hair, fit but not bulky bodies & the ability to go from giggly to stern (acting-wise at least) in a second. gimme them going feral as they seek revenge. gimme sibling antics, where he keeps teasing her because he's taller (even though she's a bit older). gimme them arguing in 1 scene, but being supportive for each other in the next--

Can you talk about the Divine Twins please?

The Twins are a contradiction, a paradox. They are at once Lovers, Brothers, and Rivals. They are the singular Consort of the Goddess, in addition to being Her own Twin. They are representative of the fluidity I feel as a queer man, a deified Dichotomy where opposites may occupy the same space in harmony.I see Them often as the Sky and the Sea, the Dove and the Serpent, the Blue God of Feri.

The Sky represents the celestial powers, the properties of the mind and of order. He is the kind Father who begets angels and Who warms the Mother’s soil with sunlight and nourishing rain. However, He is also the storm which rages over the plains, lightning striking viciously, wind howling in a fit of wrath.

The Sea represents the infernal powers, the underworld King and the residence of the soul. He encircles the Earth, fueling hurricanes, producing a myriad of monsters, and tearing at the foundations of civilization. Yet He is also the birthplace of life, the crucible of creation, the void from which all things sprang.

The Twins are a contradiction, a paradox.

Bit more detail about these gorgeous murals. They were painted by Karl Friedrich Schinkel in c.1827 and were originally in the Palais des Prinzen Karl and Ordenspalais in Berlin which Schinkel remodelled in the C19th. During the Nazi regime, the building was used for the Ministry of Propaganda. Sadly though, the building was destroyed in 1945 leaving us with only a few photographs. The murals depict the Greek Gods and are really gorgeous 😍 🏛😍
