But I appreciate my free time more now??#What you're looking at above is 64 of the cards from the game I'm makin. They are all programmed in and done. I've done another 32 since.#You may recognize the bottom row as elves from beasties of greenhollow. They aren't as central to the story#But I frankly adore the game mechanic they provide. I don't think any card game has done what they do#Flatmate loves when I give him a new version to test. He will sit and experiment with every deck I've made#I've taken a little break from it. We went to Amsterdam together a week ago and loved it. Well in hindsight anyway.#I was frankly stressing out about every little thing. But I got some nice photos.#First time organizing a holiday with a friend... that wasn't just to Arran. We did that and it was miserable. sorry.#Really it was only because of the state I was in emotionally. But also there isn't a lot to do there.#I recently got back to walking. I took a break over winter because my shoes got DEMOLISHED from so much use.#And I had to use my backup ones. Today I walked for 3 hours and felt damn good after. I might get even fitter this year.#Work hours are down. I'm doing okay though. Frankly I want more time to work on this game.#ALSO I SAW NELWARD LIVE!!! I was so fucking excited. He signed my record sleeve. I'm kind of collecting them.#It's far more of a “normal” hobby to collect records than digimon cards or japanese ps1 games. Maybe I'm growing up????#I'm really proud of what this is forming into. The story is forming up and it's linking everything together beautifully.#I just need to actually finish it. I've proven with BoG that I can actually finish what I start and I'm really proud of myself#But it turned out far less than I wanted it to be. I'm not at liberty to say what went wrong but let's just say I'm glad I'm solo for this.#I'm eating a good bit better too. Until amsterdam I stayed off sugar for like almost a month#Not too much to complain about. I am content

I have a new very close friend from it and have made a few others as well#Our little group is in a discord and we're all a good bit nerdy haha#I'm far from the oldest one in the class/group which is always good to see#We got two weeks off for winter break which is great. We come back tomorrow. I'm not ready lmao.#But with the time I got I treated it like a game jam. Me and friend were like “we got two weeks let's make what we can”#And I wasted the first few days. Not by not working but by using AI to try and help with code. Turns out it's terrible at it.#I've been openly anti-AI but our course encourages us to use it for coding so I thought it would be good at games.#Nope. It's dogshit. It worked for a while but I ended up working so much more efficiently just making the code myself#So this new game. It's a card game. you might be thinking “This has nothing to do with the 16 characters you were making what happened??”#It's all connected. ALL of it. Greenhollow. HoaM. Elphame. This new project. The 16 characters. They're all connected.#It's gonna sound like the story will be oversaturated and it is. But I'm not worried about that rn. Just making sure the game is fun.#And I can confirm: The game is fun. It's playable. Graeme and I have been playing it a ton and I feel so happy. I love designing the cards#I don't want to explicitly state what's up but here's a clue: These 20 cards are all playable by the ISTP character#That will either make you understand completely or not help you at all.#Anyway. I'm tying in previous projects so they all get to tell their story. My sister made designs for characters ages ago#and I'm finally getting to show them. One is on one of these cards. But I intend to show all of them and tell all their stories#Of course since there are so many characters a lot of the little side stories will be optional.#I'm getting ahead of myself. But I'm loving doing art and programming for this rn. Tomorrow I return to DA lifestyle...#But at the end of the month I'll be a lot less busy and might get to work on this again. No idea of a release ETA#but in 2 weeks I've done 20 cards. I'm hoping for between 128-256 (I love symmetry). That said it's faster once I'm in the habit of it.#I have a little bit of programming left before this version is final (4 cards left) but yeah. It's looking damn good.#I'm not as manic as the last post but I am very proud of myself#Also 2024 was my favourite year for movies lmao. Inside out 2 wicked and sonic 3 were all amazing All 3 make me sob like a baby#2024 was crazy. I lived so much hahaha. I met a lot of people and travelled so much and got so fit (then lost it all in winter)

#long post#mbti#color palette#I'll be honest I'm feelin pretty darn good today#Last I spoke here things were R O U G H. But I'm thru it now.#I finished therapy and feel damn good for it.#Our last session was great. I felt like we had a huge breakthru. Early on she said I need to get approval from myself#And that along with “loving yourself” is something I'd never understood. I can approve of another person? Someone else can approve of me?#But approving of yourself? Impossible. There's only one me. But by the last session I completely understood!#I love what I've made for myself. I love the things I'm proud of and get excited about. If I was another person I'd give him a hug!#I cried for the second time in that session and I looked up and my therapist was crying as well. Some would say that was unprofessional but#I think it goes to show that I really made an impact on her. Not to flatter myself but I think she'd gonna miss me haha :')#I honestly think nobody has changed my life for the better so much in such a short time. You just gotta find the right therapist!#Other good things: I quit d&d and everyone is still my friend. After I quit one friend even had a call with me and confided in me stuff tha#reassured me that he considered me his closest friend. Everyone's just moving on and that's just fine with me because I am too!#I'm starting a short course soon since my work hours are down. Boss is sad but I've been there over a year now n need to progress!#It's weird to be entering education again. It'll lead to a new job after that is unrelated to art in any form.#But I'm happy to work on art in my spare time now. Despite being a disorganized person I crave routine.#I challenged myself to design 16 characters based on MBTI. They're all done but I'm making some adjustments.#I've been posting them to tiktok challenging myself to make each animation better than the last. The last one kinda popped off#I know this is very weird but when i look at my lock screen n see the characters I've designed it gives me such a buzz#like... on the same level as getting a message from a girl I like hahahahahahahahahahaha aaaaaaaaa#I feel very capable rn. I've found a way to make myself happy independent of those around me (or how fast they message me back)#The characters themselves are more like a way to have the most diverse range yet. Lately if I design a bunch of characters#It's usually pretty female-heavy. I guess because that's mostly my friend group/environment growing up. But this is 50/50#Going to a wedding tomorrow and going to be very unapologetically myself. I'm so happy.#What a life it is#Editing to add: I went to see caravan palace live like RIGHT after I posted this. Andy had a spare ticket#It was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have learned from this that my anxiety is in the very very high end.#And I guess the only thing that surprises me about that is that it's an abnormally high amount vs the average.#I've had more intrusive thoughts this week than in a long time. (I almost said ever but that was 2021 where they woke me up...)#It's mostly about my mistakes and ppl I've scared out of being in my life because of the actions based on my anxieties.#Like “if i could go back in time I could fix it”... girl you'd be going back in time like 100 times. At that point it's not fair lmao#I think I shouldn't talk about who I'm dating here anymore. Friends told me to stop seeing so many new people and I took that advice.#I'm exercising incredibly frequently; obsessively so. It really doesn't change much in my anxiety. I walk for like 3 hours a day.#My friend group is... difficult. One of us had a falling out with another and the dynamic is just so awkward for me now.#it just seems like everyone else has moved past it though but I still miss him. I don't think this can be reversed#we used to talk on my stream and play digimon cards n jackbox and d&d... But now they're only interested in d&d which I don't love#For god's sake I've published a game and moved to a nice new place. why aren't I happy hahahaha#work is no longer enjoyable since BoG was publised. our new project is in an iffy category but it's not my place to argue#I want to write music and animate but I have to do my hours for this new project before I can do anything like that...#I ended up siding with my current boss in that ethical dilemma I posted about and rn idk if that was the right decision.#Okay what can i talk about that's good? We moved to a nice place. I'm celebrating BoG's release with family tomorrow.#Graeme's playing Iconoclasts- one of my favourite games! He's also returning to work soon so it'll be less awkward to have a lady over#Thinking about good stuff going on just draws the mind to holidays I've had before. I treasure my memories!#Okay so I've complained for a long long time bc life doesn't feel great rn. But rest assured I already know this is 90% my fault hahaha#Oh another good thing that happened!!! NEVER LOG OFF 2023 - animated
#So I wanted to reblog something just so I could say somethin in the tags. Was planning to share art but everything I have is a spoiler#I am still single! This is a record breaking period of singleness. Almost four months. I have gotten so much living done in these 4 months.#At first I was like “I don't have a girlfriend! :( :( :(” But Now I'm like “:)” I don't know how else to summarize it...#But I have been on dates with 17 different people now. It's very strange behaviour but I am categorizing them into pokemon types in my note#And thus I don't want to get past 18 until I meet someone really special. They added the stellar type but in my mind there are still 18 typ#I'm not meaning to say I'm not seeing them as people or anything like that. It's just a fun way to... separate myself from the whole proces#Meeting new people is exciting. But most of the time I know if I'm gonna like someone before I go on a date with them#The absolute highlights are amazing. I stay up late talkin with them and we have a great time. But then when we meet it's like “This is bad#I'll tell you about one specific story. We matched and she called me handsome which immediately made me like her. We talked all night#We met the next day and went to cinema with barely any sleep. We really clicked over dinner. We agreed to see each other again#So that was great. Next time we met I stayed at hers. She lives with her dad and smokes. It wasn't as good. Her flat was filthy.#She's the only one cleaning but still. I tried to put my shoe on to leave and it was sticky from all the shit on the floor.#And suddenly everything was ruined. I went away to malaga for a week and had to finish with her by text. Didn't feel good.#There are two who just didn't reply after a date and I wasn't feeling it so I was like “you've given me an out I'm taking it.”#There were maybe four who I was like “You are the one” and for some reason it didn't work out. I am learning and growing#Anyway. I'm almost done with Beasties of Greenhollow.#I might do some animations this weekend to promote it. My socials are 99% dead.#Weird to be this close to publishing a game. Doesn't feel real.#I need to pee so I'm gonna go. Also we are moving soon. Not sorted a destination but we're saving to move house.

This is a big deal for me because I am coming to terms with my status as a serial monogamist#I think my ex has been not single longer than I have so I'm not feeling guilty about it. Just feels weird being single is all.#I'm doing the whole dating thing again. Have been on 2. First one I stayed at her spare room and freaking cried. Haven't spoken to her sinc#Second one I stayed in her spare room and she stayed with her roommate. Both times I didn't want things to go physical. Both over now.#The second one I was more optimistic for tho.Prominent thing was that she wanted me to date her and others. So I'm not exclusive with anyon#And I still maintain that. Doesn't feel good bc when I go on a date with one it feels like I'm cheating on the others.#But i have such low confidence that I don't want to turn anyone down or keep anyone waiting for me to ask them out. So idk what I'm doing#anyway. moral quandary. I just realized I can't actually talk about it. But I have to choose advancing my own career at the cost of my sou#it would be really nice to get some big £$£$ but I'd have to sort of betray new boss a little. #Arright here I go again I gotta do some of these when I gotta vent#posting this on the 17th of August#So the elestral thing is going alright. My focus has shifted a LOT there but I'm still working with em#But the majority of my work comes from another client now. It's another one of these things that I'd love to make by myself#But someone else is making it and wanting me to do the art and music. It's gonna be huge. What a life it is. Anyway#This gif is from yet another project I started recently. Separate from Smile More HoaM and anything else. I keep fucking doing this#But this one's strange. It reflects my current working skills I've built up all these years. A multimedia experience that has a start n end#featuring all your favourite elphame characters in a new style. I'm enjoying making it but there's one problem#I haven't worked on it in like a month and a half#Work is piling up. Pixel art is something I don't do for myself anymore#It's not even a case of “as soon as I have time to myself my fingers can't move" it's that I just do not have any spare time lmao#I meet Ashley once or twice a week. We still play digimon a lot but we're taking this month off since she's petsitting and can't go out lat#My flatmate has basically taken the summer off work since his job pays well enough for him to do so#so having him around to play games with is nice. Feels awkward taking baths with him in the house tho lmao#He is kind of the only reason I take breaks. I got pikmin 4 and it is incredible. Genuinely might have replaced Digimon World as 1st place#Mum took Andy and I to Netherlands recently. It was incredible. I played in a local digimon tournament and ate shit#Have just been so excited about travelling lately. Ashy taking me to manchester soon and I think we'll go london next spring or sooner#Worried I'm overdoing it with the tags so I'll sign off here. Work is stressing me out but it looks like big things are happening.#OH MY GOD I HAVE STOPPED BLEEDING BTW. Like almost altogether. Haven't in like a month. But the point is I will finally be a big shot#My home and love life are comfortable as can be but I have been worried about money a little recently as commissions are sporadic#But... I'm actually on track to move to full time animation. I'm so excited.#Game is still under construction. Story is done and I'm still coding. Might need a new computer soon because this one is nearly a decade old#I'm so hopeful that the universe has finally thrown me a proverbial bone at least career wise#I have a small fanbase who is really really nice to me and I met a lot of friends there and I need to remember them when this all kicks off#Misty Ripley Heck are three that have been super supportive and I will help give back to them for keeping me afloat this whole time#Ashley has also been subscribed to me for a year. It's our year anniversary soon and I'm so nervous bc I'm not certain what to get her/do#Will just be grateful to have more memories w her. Might get a little trip away somewhere if she can get someone to watch pets#just checked. Nothing standing out but I'll figure it out now that money is significantly less of a worry#I guess that's nearly every one of my worries gone. Just gotta actually grind and finish game and I'll have nearly nothing to complain about
