Finished the sinking town animation meme. So this animation tells Daniel's story before he met Darius. When he was taken, trained, his friends thrown into the furnace and then saved by God and lastly Belteshazzar's feast and the message on the wall.

Also this is probably my fave expression of Daniel XD Like, Belshazzar tried to make God happy and to spare his life by dressing up Daniel in royal clothing.

Saul hates sex but wants love

Yeah, he gets pleasure, but that’s about it.

Actually no- he’s too scared to love anyone, but he wants to be understood. And he “hates” it as in he doesn’t get anything out of banging someone he has a hard time loving just to have a few moments of relief, but it doesn’t help with his raging paranoia, making it very unfulfilling for him

And this is with everyone who genuinely loves him, but in the process, his apathy hurts them, and Saul doesn’t understand why

Also, I’m interpreting Saul’s “envy” differently, as in he doesn’t care about fame or praises. He’s only happy when everyone treats him normally but is paranoid about the way he’s perceived.

Also, what is exactly “normal” to Saul? You see, even that’s subjective.

Throughout the Book of Saul, he’s constantly afraid of losing control in front of everyone, and well…

I actually sat down and decided to do some updates on Michal's design because of this! XD I noticed that my first draft had some things that didn't really make sense, like how the shawl around her arms even worked. So I made a version that would (or more I hope it can........) be more practical for cosplay! I HOPE THIS WORKS OUT! Tho how the shawl works is still pretty weird ngl... Almost every bible retelling I’ve read has been quite preachy and just very afraid to do a unique take on a story. It gets to a point…

For example, I read this David/Jonathan trilogy that is honestly written so beautifully, and if it was a queer take on them I would’ve eaten it up, but the preaching really took me out ngl, and I feel like they could’ve done more with them…

Not trying to self-promote lol, what I’m doing is still a wip, but as I’m currently writing my King Saul retelling that I’ve worked on for a while, I really just want to try something that shakes things, something that will send evangelical Christians into a coma lmao, since Saul’s story has been shelved to glorify David by making Saul the “bad guy”, and it fascinates me. Also, I need more old evil men yaoi…

Picked up Jezebel by Megan Barnard and I was thinking... there are a freaking million Greek retellings, where are all the bible mythologies? Not the weak, preachy, afraid-to-shake-things-up ones that the christian publishers put out, but the subversive, I'm-competely-retelling-this-as-an-epic-fantasy versions? Like, I want a bisexual, brutal, whorish King David pining for Jonathan as he fucks Bathsheba; I want a sapphic Naomi and Ruth; I want the Ethiopian eunuch's backstory and how he came to be sitting by the seaside in Palestine... (okay I just want it to be queer, see) So many stories there with potential. Please tell me if you know any that exist.
