i played OFF for the first time (the original, not the remake but i plan on it after i beat silksong) and WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW this is phenomenal

maybe not the best GAME but certainly an absolutely amazing abstract and surreal piece of art.

Timegazing - ISAT

short fic of in stars and time (spoiler warning)

A wind brushed past Siffrin, caressing their cheeks and carrying along their hair gently. Above, nebulae of various swirling tones of lightness held their breath behind dancing stars. The moon casted a soft light on everything.

They’d been unable to sleep in the clocktower, tinkering with their dagger and glaring at their reflection in it, seeing their eyelid heavy and distant without the slightest trace on their face of anything. Siffrin had rolled over to face Isa, and when they saw him sleeping and breathing so gently, so warmly, with the softest expression on his face…

Staring yet again at the creature reflected in their blade, Siffrin had decided to get up and snuck away into the field they’d stargazed and had picnics with Isa and their family so many times that they could act out every movement and word each one of them said.

Siffrin held their index finger out and traced the stars, and yet no image ever seemed to form. They didn’t recognize any constellations, couldn’t put a name to any of them. All they could do was stare at this impossibly far away sky, desperately trying to feel for even just one constellation, but the pictures were all fleeting.

Some stars seemed to be glittering dimmer and dimmer, but Siffrin realized that they wouldn’t be able to tell if they were gone the next day, or the month after, or the decade after. You don’t realize when a star is gone until all of them are.

Siffrin sighed and dropped their hand to their side. The only thing they wanted to do at that moment was close their weary eye and let darkness envelop their world, but they couldn’t. They just couldn’t fall asleep.

It wasn’t like any previous nights, where their interminable mind with racing thoughts kept them up; no, instead, nothing seemed to be able to come to their mind. There was just an emptiness. And that was just it, wasn’t it?

Emptiness.

They took their hat off and held it up for the stars to gaze at, flowing in the gentle breeze. For a moment, they considered letting go and allowing the winds to claim it.

Maybe you could bring it back to the stars, they thought to the breeze.

Stars. Stars, stars, stars.

Siffrin looked over to their side. Normally, the script called for Isa to be present. They would inhale sharply, and then he would say, “Y’know, when you asked me if I needed help earlier, I wasn’t sure what to do!”

There was just silence. Their family members weren’t present — they were still sleeping soundly, unaware of where Siffrin was.

…Family.

A leaf blew by and Siffrin reached their hand forward…

But it was just out of reach, and vanished into the night headed to the north.

How long has it been? How much longer will it be?

Siffrin was cold. So, so cold. They couldn’t seem to remember what warmth felt like.

Again they looked at their hat and cloak. 

Siffrin dug into their mind, searching for the slightest memory of what their real family looked like, yet no image seemed to form. They didn’t recognize any of the traces of people once in their life and now vanished and forgotten, couldn’t put a name to any of them. All they could do was reach for an impossibly far away past, desperately trying to remember even just one person, but the memories were all fleeting.

Four leaves blew by in a bunch and Siffrin reached their hand out. The wind carried them softly into their hand, and they held the leaves close to their chest.

Siffrin breathed in,

and out.

once turned in a fanfic for a school assignment :P

wasn't worth a grade in the end but it was for english class, we were reading the count of monte cristo and we were told to free write for an assignment. essay, story, etc. i wrote a fanfiction about louise d'armilly and eugenie danglars (the lesbians), turned it in, and also got the teacher to read it to the class XD

(i also wrote another thing where edmond dantes is brooding 10 years after the story is over)
