James accepted the madness long ago. He accepted it as soon as he had seen a mere photo. A portrait that had brought grey eyes and a strong gaze to match. A face that covered his mind and the walls in his bedroom

He didn’t know where it started really. Probably when he learned about Regulus and never stopped wanting more. He had run into him once at a tea shop and nearly fainted even though his Regulus had just muttered a tired “excuse me”.

The rabbit hole of James obsession ran deep. Photos, schedules, and even a key that fits regulus’s flat. And the things he is most shameful of. The cameras. There’s 4, one for every room in Regulus’ flat. Even though he felt most utterly guilty setting them up, the footage is what he comes home to, what he looks forward to,what he watches until his love decides to drift off into sleep.

He watches Regulus do the most mundane tasks and he basks in every moment. He carries everything he has witnessed of Regulus in his bones. Because someday Regulus will have to accept that him and James are fate. Lines written in the sky. It doesn’t matter that they were etched by man instead of divine.

I would like to add that Regulus definitely knows he’s in the audience. He’s just too scared to even look at Sirius because he wants to pretend that part of his life never existed (no matter how much he wants his brother back)

When Sirius walked in the bar he predicted the loud music, the live band, and the crowd of people. However he did not expect to see his little brother on stage with a guitar.

Even with Regulus’ new tattoos and array of piercings Sirius noticed him right away. He took the time to just stand there admiring what had changed about his brother he’s been estranged from for 10 years.

And then he saw it. A shiny ring similar to the one on Sirius’s own left hand. His Reggie had gotten married. Sure regulus wore rings all over his hands in school but never his ring finger.

Sirius recalled one of his last conversations with his brother. “It’s special Sirius I’m saving the spot for an important ring, it won’t be taken up by some family crest that doesn’t mean shit”

He walked out of that bar wondering who regulus went home with that night. Did he have kids? How long has he been wearing that ring for? And a million more questions he didn’t want to unpack.

Sirius now goes to the same bar every Friday night and watches his greatest loss sing and play the guitar with a ringed hand
