Strange but true. Think about how people lived in the 20s, freezers and fridges were not items ordinary people had. The first freezer wasn't invented until 1927. Fridges were only 30 years old (invented 1899). People bought what they needed for a few days, all fitting into baskets. So seeing trolleys for the first time was something new. Our habits change, and with the ever changing technology we think it's strange what happened during the 20th century. The comments of disbelief at life 100 years ago is amusing, somewhat ironic because we forget how different life was for everyday people. I often wonder in the 22nd century what people will think of us in the 21st century. Perhaps that is just my mind but we're so keen to talk about how progressive we are will we be judged by the same standards. Then again my son thinks the VCR in the kitchen is a post box because he has never known any different. So who knows what the future holds but I think it shows how easily things aware forgotten as we march through time. And all this procrastination because of a trolley facebook post.
