And would you say the story is attached to the traditional beauty and the beast story, or do you have your own written story of your version of these characters somewhere that I should read as soon as possible?! 💖

Hey there! I'm so glad you like them, and thank you for taking the time to let me know 💕 Those characters belong to a contemporary Beauty and the Beast retelling that I'm revising (it's not published yet) but there's no sequence at all to the drawings. A few sketches depict events that happen in the story, but a lot don't. Sometimes I just feel like drawing my crazy kids :)

For some reason yesterday it seemed really important to draw naked kissing instead of getting any actual work done. But look! I drew her hands totally without reference. Actually I drew most of this without photo reference (I did use ref for his head angle), which means it took me hours (this sketch is my third attempt) but I think it was time well spent because I learned a few things :)

Artwork to kick off 2025! I did this piece for a friend in celebration of her getting a literary agent for her YA fantasy novel. She gave me a few concept options. "Let's do the one with the moths!" I said. "I can use them as a design element. It'll be fun," I also said. Ask me how long it took to draw and render all the fucking moths 😅
