And another thing about this finale,the 217 must absolutely hate Eddie Diaz.

They literally said they would not hire him because they thought he would flake and go back to LA. Now he’s literally the day before about to start his shift at the 217 and now he’s come back to LA. 😭😭

Well….

Ultimately if we look at it as a normal tv show and not through a fandom lens, it was a ‘fine’ episode for the finale. The emergency took up a lot of space to really do nothing for the emotional character beats until the last 15 mins when they had to save Graham. Athena & Chim didn’t even really talk to each other the entire time they were trapped , then all of a sudden made up once they were out? But each ‘case’ was still kinda interesting and engaging. Other than that, no real cliffhanger and everyone just kinda…’exists’ until next season with their ‘plots from 8A resolved’.

Through fandom lens, this sucked. Once again we spent so much time on an emergency that ultimately did not matter and no time with our characters and their personal dynamics like last episode. But everyone else could have mixed feelings on this, so to each opinion their own.

After Bobby’s death I said that the final 3 eps would determine if I will continue watching this show. 8x16 was trash. 8x17 was great. 8x18 was meh (as a regular ep and finale). My final verdict is I’m not done with the show but I’m definitely not watching live anymore. I’ll be lurking in the fandom but not really engaging on premiere nights.

Edit: I’m also not going to be going into the awful marketing tactics they have done surrounding this finale and the Buddie of it all. Although I am Ace, I don’t feel like I have an authority to say if this was queerbait. I’ll leave that to others. (also also: if it is, do NOT blame the actors or anyone else. This would be firmly on the shoulders of the show runner, Tim, and the Marketing team)

I’m back from my semi-undeclared hiatus and I will be live-blogging the finale.

Let’s just say that this episode quite literally will make or break next season. If it’s not absolutely perfect (never a concern acting-wise, set design, filming, costume and makeup, etc. TL;DR if the writing sucks) then s9 may actually be the last season.

Who thought it was a good idea to give a five minute tacked on to the end of the episode funeral to the biggest main character on this show? And bring back Gerrard? I’ve seen SVU bury a recurring character who was on for two seasons with more dignity.

I’m done with this show and not coming back.

Marvel Rivals made me realize that I am so goddam attracted to Dr. Stephen Stange. Particularly the ‘God of Magic’ alternate skin from the game.

Gosh! His design combined with his voice lines 🙀

It also made me realize I have a type, because he reminds me of Aaron Hotchner (in personality) from Criminal Minds.
