Bird in a cage When the four walls around you becomes the darkest place you can ever be, makes you feel like you are a bird caged, unable to fly out into the wild and beautiful world. But at the same time, this is the safest place you could ever be. The darkness becomes your best friend, that understands you no matter what. The sad music you are listening to becomes your mate, your soulmate that hugs you and gives you enough comfort to not give up. But can push you even deeper into the dark, so you don't even recognize the state you are in. The state that makes you believe you are a nobody, that you don't even exist, that you are just a little poor dust in this infinite universe, that is too far lost in the black, scary, and mysterious black hole.

6 words that used to make me smile from ear to ear

But now feels like a jagged knife to the chest.

Daddy's little girl is who I used to be

But daddy’s little girl isn't so little any more.

She's no longer blinded by innocence,

The rose coloured glasses left in the dust

You were meant to be my hero my protector you were meant to keep me safe,

But instead you are the reason I flinch at loud noises and cower when an adult raises their voice!

You are the reason tears fill my eyes when I see a girl hugging her father.

You are the reason I will never trust again!

The reason I look back on my childhood and wonder what did I do to deserve the life I was given?

Why can't I have family game nights and late night talks with dad?

Why do I have to cry every Christmas, every birthday, every fathers day from now until forever!

Why did you hurt me?!
