Been messing around with the cricut and made a wreath for our front door. It's really colourful and made from old craft card. I haven't really done much papercraft before so it was fun. I just used assets from design space

I'm thinking it's time I made a pinned post. It's only been 6 years lol
Hi! I'm Emily, I'm an artist from Australia. I've been slowly switching to traditional art to distance myself and my work from AI etc as much as I can. Everything on this blog took time and skill to make and if I'm going to stuff up the hands, I'll personally stuff it up lol. I'm always happy to chat and make friends! Let's support and encourage each other!
Tumblr has always been the main platform I've posted on, but I do have accounts almost everywhere. If you wish to contact me directly, you can do so through here (for chat) or on my carrd (business enquiries).
Commissions and requests are closed. Any paintings available for sale will be listed on my Etsy.
Carrd - All of my big links are here Etsy - You can buy originals and prints here Redbubble - You can buy all the other stuff here Bluesky - sometimes i post quick doodles. i tend to share others' work there too. Insta - for local stuff like markets and events. Feel free to follow me. FB - literally just a mirror of my insta. it exists for friends and family who don't have insta and want to see my work. Feel free to follow! Tumblr tags: all art | traditional art | digital art | lino | watercolour | gouache

A print I created for the Incognito Art Show. I printed 4 of these as first editions. Now that most of my artworks have sold, I'm going to share them. The red ink has a gold sheen in the light. I'm reprinting these without the gold as second editions. [Link to my etsy store]

People often say to me: “You draw like some kind of inhuman machine.  If I eat your brain, will I gain your power?”  The answer is yes, but there is another way. The key to precise drawing is building up muscle memory so that your arm/hand/fingers do the things you want them to do when you want them to do them.  Teaching yourself to draw a straight line or to make sweet curves is just a matter of practice and there are some exercises you can do to help improve. If you’re going to be doodling in class or during meetings anyway, why not put that time to good use?

I'm working on another mandala right now too. A linocut one this time with lots of eyes 👁️ these are relaxing to draw because I don't feel the need to focus so hard lol
Just a reminder that you can buy all of my prints on my Etsy.

A Skorpekh Destroyer I started working on nearly two years ago. I decided to finish him over the weekend and hopefully we'll turn him into objective mats soon.

Gelli plate dump 2! getting the hang of stamps and stencils The koi print from yesterday worked out really nicely, all things considered. Also the gold paint in print 4 and 5 is super metallic. It's the jo sonja rich gold. honestly the prettiest gold paint i've had.
7 was my 1st attempt at this method. It's a normal layered gel print with painted details and printed layer by layer. I let it all dry and used gel medium to pull the lot. The paper wasn't holding up that well so i used more gel medium to pull the torn paper from the plate back onto the print. I'm copying my posts from BSKY as it's a really convenient way to make notes but that also means that the posts lose context lol. So I'm doing a little rewrite for anyone interested Below is the koi print still on the block
For anyone curious:
Paper: mulberry
Paint: Atelier Interactive
3"x5" gelli plate
Blue -> wave stamp -> koi - white orange then red -> touch up with gel medium until the print pulls cleanly lmao
Tumblr media
The mulberry paper is extremely thin/brittle. Sometimes it sticks too well to the plate and sometimes it just tears along the long fibres. It's just a lot of patience and patching the paper up with modpodge as i try to pull the print. It's pretty seamless! Just time consuming :)

Gelli plate dump! I'm still learning how to use the plates. These are the 6" x 6" prints I made over the last two days. A lot of the prints didn't actually work but I'm starting to figure it out lmao
