I wanna go back to Knightfall and Ozlem imagery.
Now, why do I think this is relevant considering they are not unique in this regard, Ozlem imagery is often platonic and this example is highly hostile.
Because of context.
In case of Salem and Ozma, this is an end of their relationship which lasted for at least 13 years. Pivotal moment of them turning against each other and becoming mortal enemies.
I'm saying this because there is a similar context with other characters who have such imagery but are enemies, most blatantly Blake and Adam.
They were partners, depending on continuity, for 2-5 years, eventually becoming mortal enemies.
You can find similar imagery with Ironwood turning on his associates, or Ruby cutting down Oscar illusion. It's always partners or friends turning against each other and becoming enemies.
With Cinder and Jaune there is no such context. This is by all accounts their first proper interaction, and they are virtually strangers to each other.
So what's going on? Why use such strong and blatant parallels if they don't carry the same meaning?
I think it's meant to represent the story going in reverse. Jaune started as a fraud, Cinder started as a cursed Grimm maiden, both being Oz' and Salem's current selves respectively.
That combined with Jaune's arc with Alyx (anyone can change for the better, Alyx wanting Jaune to be a hero) could imply the end point of Cinder being able to change and Jaune being there to help her. Eventually both reaching the starting point of Oz' and Salem journey, one being a true hero other being fairy tale maiden. Ultimately answering Salem and Ozma by showing it was always possible for them to reconcile.

I noticed something else about that Ruby's and Oscar's spar scene besides parallels to Cinder and Jaune.
Very similar setting and stance.
However, setting similarity goes further, in fact, it's the exact same setting.
Since that training ground was in front of the house they were staying in that means Ruby and Oscar met in almost exact same place as Salem and Ozma. That also means Salem's father's castle was located near what is now Mistral, ruins likely inside of a forest below.
In conclusion, your honor, they are soulmates.

Superman and Wonder Woman explained: Why their dynamic/relationship matters:

1. The (child) Refugee - Kal-El/Clark Kent born on Krypton, raised in Smallville. Grew up conditioned to hide his identity out of fear/ protection.
The (young adult) Immigrant: Diana of Themyscira born and raised on her island was taught to openly be free to celebrate her identity
2. They are NOT Gods, but they are NOT mortal. They are NOT their powers. They are, however, the in between of the unique worlds bridging said worlds together. That is what makes the complexity of their representations as an immigrant and refugee more compelling and fantastical.

3. With the complexed layers peeled back, at their core, they are simply a farm boy and an island girl with hearts of pure gold. Two of the most powerful otherworldly beings are also the most humbled, kindest, gentlest, self sacrificing souls realize the burden of being put on a pedestal as inspirational forces of world change and betterment.

4. What this relationship explores is how the two function as individuals, learning from and teaching each other their POV from their paralleled outsider experience and their inner loneliness weaving it all together, finding solace and having a very layered understanding.
5. A power couple by definition is a couple in a healthy relationship who support each other, encourage goodness, and make the world a better place.
It’s is not about physical power. It is a testament of equal standing of influence and respect, trust and understanding.
It is showing the understanding of acknowledging their vulnerabilities so openly is a powerful statement to their humanity and morality.

6. It explores the judgements of the world equating to viewing them as celebrities and as two powerful foreign beings pissing off the government and even the League to put the PEOPLE first as the Champion of the Oppressed and Warrior of Peace.
7. In addition to blending the scientific with the mythical, there is also untapped potential of bridging their civilian occupations as a Reporter and an Ambassador. Clark’s influential words within the news media and Diana’s voice to speak for the people.

8. It is the acceptances that while they have their differences, they have similarities to balance the scale of their would be natural conflicts giving a unique complexed well rounded perspective.

9. It is the acceptance of being completely honest and true with each other and within themselves. Not to conform to what’s accepted as “normal” for society’s comfort, but what makes society unique and diverse. Blending in, while maintaining to stand out.
10. Their humanity is not defined by nor motivated by one love interest. They are motivated by love of all life as one that lost their home world yet adopting another and as one who was created from the soil of this world ingrained within its nature.

11. They are never above and never want to be. However they are free spirits with a unique outlook on life and the world such as every other individual does, though on a grander scale.
12. They have a beautiful friendship the evolves over the decades and whether it evolves into a romance, like it or not, there is merit. Best friends falling in love, is not unheard of, if anything it is quite common. It’s all about the right execution.

SuperWonder Drama!
Under arrest in the court of internet opinion.
🧑⚖️ ⚖️
What do you think? Should they be left alone in their own universe? Can the fandom be at peace? Will the naysayers ever stop?
…seemingly the most hated ship [for some reason]
Transcript / Dialogue:
[Scene 1: dark alley in Metropolis; city streets in daytime; police station]
Police: "Hey Superman, I'm sorry I have to do this, but you're under arrest."
Superman: "Under arrest for what?"
Police: "I have a court order to take you back to Lois."
Police: "Superman, Wonder Woman! Superman you two are under arrest. And you Wonder Woman are going back to Steve Trevor."
Wonder Woman: "Steve? You mean Steve Trevor? He's been dead for ages."
Police: "Well Miss Wonder Woman in the event that Steve is unable to fulfill this order, there is a clause here that says you must be taken to Batman."
Police: "For SuperWonder, the whole point of you two to begin with has been deemed erroneous and has been ordered null and void by the court of internet opinion."
[Scene 2: news studio]
Reporter: "Why do you two persist in this SuperWonder? The world doesn't care for you."
Superman: "I don't think you or anybody gets to choose who I'm with. I'm with Wonder Woman in this universe. Go take a hike."
Wonder Woman: "Enough already! I will not stand for this nonsense. We love each other. We love humanity too. No matter how much hate you have for us, we will stand together."
[Scene 3: angry crowds gather round Metropolis Courthouse]
Angry Woman in Crowd: "Lois owns your ass, Superman! Go back to Lois!"
Angry Man in Crowd: "Amazon slut! Go back to where you came from!"
[cut to scene in (Metropolis) Times Square]
Kid Fan: "Please Superman, stay with Wonder Woman. You two are amazing together! Don't let the haters change that."
[Scene 4: outdoor yard; cut to detective's office]
Superman: "What did we do wrong? Why are you so bothered with us? No one is forcing you to like us but we want to be with each other. and in this universe you'll just have to accept or go to some other universe. Which means there's infinite possibilities and stories to tell."
[Scene 5: inside the Batcave with Batman's Harem of female admirers]
Wonder Woman: "The court ordered me here in case Steve was unavailable. Looks like you've got quite a harem going on here."
Batman: "That's because I'm Batman."

They only ask these type of harassing and condescending questions towards SuperWonder.
Making the fandom look like there is something wrong with them. That it’s an “obsession”. A put-down, basically.
You’re suppose to go with the crowd and like Lois or Steve or Batman. Just not them.
It doesn’t respect the person’s choice. It’s a way to bully someone and shame them.
Over comic book characters. That’s what is so ridiculous. 😑

I honestly really love the weapon symbolism in RWBY. Ruby says in the second episode that their weapons are extensions of themselves, and it’s absolutely true.
Like, take Crescent Rose for example: in Volume 4-6, it’s scarred, it’s cracked, it’s beaten up, but it’s still working. Much like it’s owner. And in Volume 7, it’s upgrade isn’t in firepower or something new and fancy, it adds adaptability.
Crocea Mors is also a fantastic example. In the beginning, it is literally not Jaune’s weapon. It’s his great-grandfather’s. It’s a manifestation of the legacy Jaune is desperately trying to live up to.
Come Volume 4, and Jaune adds Pyrrha’s diadem to the shield, symbolising that he’s now attempting to live up to Pyrrha’s example as well. Plus, it gains a mode where Jaune sacrifices his defense for offense, foreshadowing his suicidally reckless belief that he doesn’t matter.
(It’s not a coincidence that this form is first revealed when Ren is going through a bit suicidal recklessness.)
Come Volume 7, and he now focuses on the Shield, symbolizing how Jaune has switched his focus to supporting and defending those around him.
We’ve also all noticed that Gambol Shroud now intergrates Kintsugi into the design: the idea that something that has been repaired, healed can be more beautiful than before it was broken.
But I really love Cinder’s weapon symbolism.
Chronologically, the first appearance of Midnight is in Beginning of the End. Where it’s an actual metal weapon that Cinder carries around with her. But once she gains half of the Maiden powers, she tosses it to the ground and burns it.
Symbolically, Cinder has sacrificed a part of herself in her quest for power.
Throughout Volume 2 and 3, the Midnight we see is a facsimile, a fake created with the Maiden Powers. Cinder is trying to use the powers to replace a part of herself she’s lost.
But that Midnight is made of glass. It’s fragile, easily broken.
And after Volume 3, she hasn’t used Midnight at all. She’s trying to distance herself from what Midnight represents, what she’s left behind in her search for power. There’s nothing actually stopping her from reclaiming it, reforging it, creating it anew… except herself.
And if you’ll notice, when Cinder creates obsidian blades now, it’s never the same blade. The RWBY Wiki lists nine different sword designs she uses just in last few episodes of Volume 5. Even in Volume 6, when she’s making daggers down in the Vault, there’s five different dagger designs. And in the fight with Winter and Penny, she uses three of those swords, and one of the knives.
Combine that with her incredibly frequent outfit changes, and it paints a picture of a young woman who doesn’t really know who she is, only who she doesn’t want to be.

Battling the dust storm that hit the city. (Yesterday in real life).

Wonder Woman: “Here it comes Kal.”
Superman: “ I’ll use my superbreathe to blow it up and redirect it up away from the city.”

It’s so exhausting. 😞
Yea I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much hate over SuperWonder.
I don’t go to other accounts and leave crazy comments. I keep to my own space.
But once in a while somebody leaves a comment. It’s meant to get a reaction. It’s also a time waster.
You can choose to be a respectful consumer of comics. You can choose to be an educated consumer of comics by learning the history of comics. Like Kingdom Come and many other stories.
You can also be aware that in comics there exists a multiverse. In others words, the writer can create or re-write anything in relation to a comic book character.
The problem is DC stays within it’s status quo or preferred interpretation based on the original creator’s idea.
This is where SuperWonder butts head with. Where it stands as an idea that goes against all that. And man, does it make people uncomfortable and angry.
So you get people that say Diana should only be with Steve, and Superman with Lois. While it stays true to the original canon, it puts a roadblock to the development of stories and explorations.
It also hurts the other canon in comics which was the New52. That did happen much to the chagrin of the masses who say it was a mistake. There is a small niche fandom that still supports the ship. Do we call them names or harass them? NO. It needs to stop.
You need to acknowledge that this ship is appreciated. DC comics despite all its ways, sometimes does acknowledge this ship, markets it and many people cosplay it.
So it is celebrated in some way. Just leave us alone already. I’m exhausted with this. I hate having to explain myself. I’m no less a comics fan than you are because I like SuperWonder. I grew up on Clois, dammit. Some of guys weren’t even born when Superman the movie came out. Yea I’m flexing my generational superiority. Get a grip.
This is like somebody forcing you to consume banana ice cream and you prefer strawberry or chocolate. We all like different things.
These are also fictional characters. So saying that they are supposed to be whatever is beyond stupid. It’s in the creator/writer’s imagination. And imagination has no limits.
Man, I think The Boys really ruined it for some of you. You see Homelander and Queen Maeve and equate them with SuperWonder. That is so far off who they are seriously.
I’ve already said that I’ve proven SuperWonder can work. I use the dreaded evil Ai tool to do it. But it works. You know it does. You just don’t want to acknowledge it. Which is fine. I’m not forcing anyone. It’s there. It just simply is.
Remember this is my space. This is my happy place. I came here out of pain. It hasn’t been a year since my mom’s passing. This is where I’ve found myself in the current season of my life. Much of what comes out in terms of inspiration is born from pain. So if you’re here with me, enjoy the exploration. But don’t leave nasty comments. You don’t know a person nor what they’ve been through. It really says a whole about you. And if you are fan of Superman or Wonder Woman, they probably wouldn’t be doing what you’re doing in the basic discourse of comics.

So this comment comes from an actual follower of the account and someone who happens to like all my posts which makes absolutely no sense.
How would you respond?
Even after they tell me that they like the art and was told about the multiverse, they continue to leave these type of comments.
Make it make sense.
Why would a Clois/WonderTrev even if they don’t admit they are, be on a SuperWonder page?
Either they are too dense or this is some high-level trolling.
They don’t even spell Kal’s name right.
“Calle”?
What is up with people nowadays?
Seriously…

There are some parallels that can be drawn between Jaune and Oz in The Four Maidens story. You have older jaded version of a hero visited by girls who would eventually become first Maidens, who keep him a company and give him valuable life lessons.
Sequence makes sense since Oz was first visited by Winter and finally by Fall. Jaune was first encouraged and hugged by Weiss, followed by Yang and Blake. Reconciliation with Ruby happened at the end of the volume. And show is very on the nose that Jaune is suppose to be Oz parallel, even being point of Jaune's Beyond episode, so I don't think this is coincidental.
But sequence kind of exists in isolation, which made me wonder a bit about it. Then I started thinking about V8 ending sequence and Oz' original daughters, precursors to Maidens.
I think Atlas evacuation sequence was meant to be a parallel to Oz and his daughters attempting to leave the castle. In this case Cinder takes the role of Salem, role she consistently plays with Jaune's Ozma. So Oz took his daughters to run away from Salem who ultimately ended up finding them with fight ensuing. Meanwhile Jaune and RWBY tried to evacuate Atlas via Relic's portal only to be found by Cinder with fight ensuing.
In both cases said fight resulted in Salem/Cinder getting all five killed (or at least assumed dead in Cinder's case). At the end of Cinder's fight with Jaune you also have remarkably similar imagery as at the end of Ozma's fight with Salem.
In conclusion, I think there is a merit to Jaune/RWBY and Oz/his daughters/Maidens parallels. If that's the case I think parallel will continue with Jaune eventually playing the role of Oz and giving all his power to team RWBY (probably using evolved form of his Semblance), creating his own Maidens.
This parallel also positions RWBY members into more of a platonic relationship with Jaune, him symbolically playing their father figure. Which makes sense since Jaune does look like both Tai and Nicholas Schnee (when he is Rusted Knight) and he is 10-20 years older than them after V9. I'd say this excludes pairings like Lancaster or WK, but then again RWBY did go in relatively Oedipal direction with Bees.
