Life has been chaotic so I'm just now getting around to my Christmas 2024 baking summary! All in all everything turned out well, but I did need a new pot for the honeycomb. So in counterclockwise order:

Chocolate crinkles - I make these every year, they are my favorite. Recipe from Allrecipes.

Spritz cookies - a traditional recipe from Dad's family, it's basic but good. Dad insisted on two colors or it wouldn't be quite right.

Raspberry chocolate chunk cookies - from my new cookie book, the first time I've made them! ("Cookies - the new classics" by Jesse Szewczyk) I really liked them and so did a few others, but generally mixed reviews.

Date pinwheel cookies - another first time cookie! A pinwheel filled with dates and walnuts, I will absolutely make this again. The family loved them. Recipe from Valerie's Kitchen.

Honeycomb candy - this is the second or third time I've made this but the first time for Christmas. Another mixed review addition, but I like it. It's fun to add a candy to the cookie roster. Recipe from Sugar Spun Run.

Three cookies complete plus the candy is done other than the chocolate dipping. So I'm just about done... Which means of course I'm fighting the toxic urge to make one more batch of other cookies 🤣 LISTEN SUGAR COOKIES ARE GOOD OK

Two cookies down (plus the two loosely supervised batches) and now I'm taking another crack at this candy. I will not be defeated!!!

Two cookie doughs in the fridge and one candy on the way. Trifle turned out delicious thankfully so I am well on my way now!

I'm totally not going overboard for Christmas baking. Absolutely. It's only three different types of cookies plus two different candies. That's it. Plus the two batches of other cookies I'm supervising/providing supplies for. Oh and the cookies for the cookie party. And the Christmas trifle for the other party.
