“If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro’ narrow chinks of his cavern.” William Blake

Her hair an ocean across my pillow
Her scent the air that once I breathed
Her frame contained the beauty of life
Her mind did set me free

It's late at night but there's a surprising number of people here, waiting at the underground crossroads for the high speed shuttles to carry them closer to their destination.
I stare ahead at the red and blue tiled wall facing me from the other side of the station. The silence seems bolder against the sheer volume of people, raising within me the familiar feeling of cognizance.
I breathe.
I feel the sideways gaze of the security officer on duty as they patrol nearer to me, the uniform raising subconcious feelings of authority and fear. I close my eyes and feel the invisible thread, the truth that there is something more that binds what is.
As the footsteps approach I open my eyes and look towards the source of the feeling. As my gaze finds that of the officer I'm surprised to find a young woman. Her eyes quickly look away but the space between us remains alive with awareness.
As she passes I can't help but wonder what a difference a gesture could make, how different ones experience would be with a simple nod and a smile. The implication of kindness exists not in the action but the effect. Everything we do seems to reverberate forever, always changing, never ceasing. What it must be like to see how far one reaches.

Fire tinged her aura that set the world alight
Air spoke her name as the dusk turned into night
Water led her soul from the seeing to the sight
Earth brought her closer made the all a little bright

A broken sun.
The light that shines within us all,
Brings about the final fall,
With inward strength and will and might,
A broken sun will end the night.
