Game #4 on the wheel is DISCOLORED
Tumblr media
Discolored is a puzzle, point and click adventure game with the main focus being trying to bring colour back to a roadside diner.
POSITIVES
The main mechanic comes with allowing different colours to exist in the world, allowing for certain things to exist/ not exist, for example, an item might only exist if green is visible but to get to it you need to get rid of blue. This works very well as it is allows you to exactly what colours need to be sorted before a puzzle could be solved, and almost all puzzles either make sense logically or if they are not logical, are framed in a way where it makes sense what needs to be done, apart from a single puzzle, but with the games hint system I was able to figure it out.
Along with this the music is very calming and fits very well with the games environment, with soft piano to set the tone, along with this there are some small secrets that will make you feel like a genius to figure out.
NEGATIVES
This game feels short, going through and 100% the game took me about an hour and a half, which took even longer than it should have as I made plenty of mistakes that caused me to play through the game like 3 different times to get every achievement.
Along with this the game feels more like a proof of concept for the colour mechanic to be used in the next game, Discolored 2, which also feels like it will be more horror centric, and for the base price of $7.99 it feels like a lot for the amount of actual content in the game, however the game does go on sale and can even go as low as $1.99
OVERALL
I think this game is great, however, its relatively small scale and length can be a turn off to some people, I would recommend getting this game next time it is on sale, and I will be sure to buy and play through discolored 2 when it releases!
My overall ranking is a 7/10, I recommend giving it a chance if you are a fan of puzzle games.

Time for the 3rd game on the wheel and today we have Kightfall: A Daring Journey
Tumblr media
I don't think I need to give knightfall an introduction but I will:
Knightfall is a 2 player co-op battle royale where you play as knights fighting to reach the castle so you can give a rose to your fellow knight along the way you will raid towns for guns, bombs and spells to fight off the other knights, you and your fellow knight get along on your horse and speed off by horse drifting, that is right
HORSE DRIFTING
This game used to be $5.99 when I had bought it but due to low player rate causing the game to not be playable normally, the game is now free!
THE POSITIVES
The game is very fun, horse drifting feels satisfying and failing a drift and landing on grass slows you down enough where it is worth learning how to do and doing it correctly feels so great that you feel so powerful when you nail an entire route without mistakes.
gunplay can be very varied, with plenty of different weapons like bows, pistols, shotguns and even spells, all have very fun reload animations and all work very well together, and for each weapon there is a chance for you to find an enchanted versions, like dealing poison damage or healing you for each hit, giving you even more variety when playing.
The game also allows you to host and join custom game lobbies, meaning if you just want to play a few games with your friends, or even get a server together and have a blast, especially now that the game is free and a very low bar for entry specs wise.
THE NEGATIVES
The game has a very small player base, checking steam db it has about an average of 95 players, or a bit above 3 lobbies, meaning that if you want to just jump in and play, you might be waiting a while to join a game.
Another issue I had is only going to happen if you are playing on your own, if you are pairing up with a friend you will (Probably) not have this problem, because the game forces you to work with your fellow knight, it means that if your teammate just doesn't want to move, you are also not moving, as moving too far away will kill both of you, meaning that if you experienced what I did, where I joined a game and the person I joined was just afk, I was forced to quit and just re-join.
Tumblr media
OVERALL
I think this game is very good! if you and your friend want to have a quick game and want to try something new, give this game a try, and along with this try any game from landfall and I am sure you will have a great time!

So second game from the wheel Survivalist: Invisible strain
Tumblr media
Few things I want to say before I continue this review
This game is in early access and so issues I might have with this game might be changed by its full release
This game has steam workshop and might include a few QoL changes, but I decided I would give myself a flat experience with nothing added to the game that the creators did not add themselves (Mods, User created levels: no but DLC and updates: Yes)
I think the best way to describe this game is just to explain my experience playing it, then just giving closing thoughts at the end.
So with all that out of the way, time to tell you the story of NORMAL MAN
Tumblr media
Decided to make my character just a regular guy, I decided I would pick the archer class because assassin did not sound like my usual play style, which leads me to the first positive I have for this game
CUSTOMISATION
This game has a lot of options to decide how you both look and play, its almost overwhelming as someone who has not played a game like this before, but I could imagine how someone could spend a while making a character to resonate with, but to make him just like me fr, I made him bisexual and donned him in all black, and loaded into the world, and with that positive I have to sadly mention my first negative I have with the game
AUDIO
When creating my character I had to listen to the games audio, and it felt like I had two tracks playing next to each other, which made it really hard to listen and enjoy, along with this I would often end up surrounded by zombies, and the audio just was not for me, especially in early game where you just have to wait and listen until zombies leave.
Exploring the world
So once I have loaded in I was told to find a community, and as I walk I am instantly seen and chased by a zombie, which as I run away, I am chased by even more zombies, so my only option is to hide in a house, and now that the zombies cannot see me, they... don't move anywhere, meaning I cannot leave otherwise I will be instantly spotted, meaning that there is only one thing left to do.
WAITING
Tumblr media
This game expects you to wait... a lot, so much waiting in fact, you can speed up the game and pray the zombies will move away, during this time my character has been bitten and is infected, as you can see on the left.
After finally getting an opportunity to escape, I ended up finding a commune, where my character is told to give up his gold if he wants to stay, after talking to the leader and realising I have no gold I asked if I could pay in some other way, assuming I could get a quest to earn my keep, only to find out my bisexuality had kicked in and my character could only respond by hitting on the leader, and so I am instantly shot on site and killed.
My character then wakes up in another commune, talking to someone who I had never met and the first option I was given was hitting on her, which she then calls me a creep (Which, honestly was understandable) but was finally given a quest to get firewood, luckily I had earned an axe so I went to go chop some wood.
Tumblr media
...Only to find out I had no storage, at this point I was confused, tired and did not want to play any longer and quit the game.
Final thoughts
I... Do not know what to think of this game, I tried looking at the reviews and saw that it was very positive, with a lot of people talking about the games steep learning curve as well as its heavy reliance on RNG, and so maybe I just got unlucky and if I stuck with it, I would have enjoyed it more, but as of right now, I don't want to play it again.
If you are a fan of games like project zomboid, It is worth picking up with its $9.99 price tag, but I can only rate this a 2/10.

So first game from the wheel: Draw Slasher
Tumblr media
Draw slasher a hack and slash where you can only use your mouse, I actually really like games with unconventional control schemes, the first (and only so far) game that I uploaded was essentially "What if you played jump king with your mouse" so I was excited to give this game a try, especially because the art style reminds me of flash games that I would play as a kid.
I ended up playing this game for 2 hours and 45 minutes, this included an entire playthrough of the story mode and an attempt at some of the challenges that the games give you, in this time I achieved 9 out of the 13 achievements.
POSITIVES
I think the game looks very nice, the scenery looks very nice and there is a very clear distinction of what is and what isn't interactable. the gameplay is also very simple but has enough enemy variation where I was not bored and had to focus to make sure I did not die. Along with this the challenges will test your gameplay ability and puzzle solving and even after this review, I might jump back in to finish the challenges.
All to say this game is very worth the price being only $1.99 if you are up for a pretty good time
NEGATIVES
Firstly while I think the game looks very nice and the level design does show what is can and cannot be interacted with, I should say that most of the time, one issue I felt I came to a lot of the time was fighting with the camera to actually see what is going on, to explain this here is what the game usually looks like:
Tumblr media
your character is often near the middle of the screen, with a bit more room to the right, which makes sense as the game wants you to move in that direction, the problem is when you dash, the camera only moves back to this position once the player has touched the ground, meaning during combat or in sections of the game where precision is demanded of you, this can cause problems as you might end up dashing and then not knowing what is directly in front of you until the camera resets.
My next big issue comes with how levels and bosses feel like they go on for too long, this game has 6 levels, and each one takes about 15 minutes to beat, to give context, a beat em up like the original streets of rage usually has levels usually less than 5 minutes, and while if you like hack and slashes and beat em ups, the extra time per level might sound good, it is considerably less go when you can only use the mouse, as it can cause some pain to form when you are shaking your wrist for that long.
The bosses are a real mixed bag personally, with bosses like stomper and the phantom being laughably easy, the Gunslinger and Hangman were brutally unforgiving, requiring the aforementioned precise movement, the hangman especially was a pain due to how the level design sometimes would hide the mines you are supposed to avoid!
Tumblr media
And with this boss, a single mistake can cause you to go right back to the start and try again, my main issue is that the game equates how long a boss was with how difficult it was, which are not the same, as most of the time I am just waiting for the moment where I can react and deal damage.
IN SHORT
I think this game is well worth the price, though I feel like it would be more enjoyable if it was available on mobile, as the movement will feel more at home on a touch screen.
Overall I would give Draw slasher a 4/10, while I did enjoy myself and I think if the game sounds interesting you should give it a try, the story mode feels too drawn out for me to go out of my way to recommend to someone.

Finally done! all 1353 games added to the wheel! would give it a spin today but I have been at my computer for almost 3 hours now making this wheel and I want to get some sleep, will try a game tomorrow!
Tumblr media
Here begins the start to a very bad idea
Hi, I like programming, specifically I have wanted to make games since I was young and even recently graduated university with a degree in video game design, and because of this love of games I have amassed a video game library that has such a considerable backlog of games that I need to play. My solution to this problem: Create a wheel containing all 1000+ games I own on steam and every day (When I can), play and write a quick review about a random game from my library, hopefully this gives me an improved idea of how diverse video games can be, and hopefully the people who read this will later be able to scroll through and see something they might not have thought about trying and actually give it a go! About to start making the wheel, may god give me strength
