As somebody who’s never had a parasocial relationship and never obsessed over any celebrity famous for anything, or thought my favorite artists ever owed me two cents, seeing people lose their minds over the reminder that their favorite content creator is in fact human and not beholden to the vision of people-pleasing perfectionism they’ve crafted in their brain is really fucking tragic.
Go outside ffs.

Just saw that Netflix has finally made another Fear Street film!!!!!
Can’t wait I love the trilogy so much, they may not be the scariest of horror films but the story and overall themes and messages are too good to not have more of these. I hope this is the start of a new series of films for this franchise.

the most annoying people are people who don't understand storytelling. they be like "oooo how convenient that this thing happened to the main character in the very beginning". yeah no shit. that's why the story begins here

In my PMDD week without the medications that help limit it because getting a doctor’s appointment is damn near impossible unless you wake up at the asscrack of dawn. Honestly more annoyed at how tired I am because like seriously we’ve been doing this shit for years and my body still reacts this way.

The best piece of grammar advice for dialogue tags laid out in an easy format to understand
Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):
“For most dialogue, use a comma after the sentence and don’t capitalize the next word after the quotation mark,” she said.
“But what if you’re using a question mark rather than a period?” they asked.
“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.
“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”
“This is a single sentence,” she said. “Now, this is a second stand-alone sentence, so there’s no comma after ‘she said.’”
“There’s no dialogue tag after this sentence, so end it with a period rather than a comma.” She frowned, suddenly concerned that the entire post was as unasked for as it was sanctimonious.

How come one pencil lasts me actual months of use but the next one doesn’t even last me two weeks. How is that possible it feels like it shouldn’t be and yet. I finished more pages of my manuscript with the first pencil, why is the second one already gone?

the worst part of writing is when you realize you accidentally gave a side character a better arc than the main character.
