I prefer large fandoms for how anonymous they feel. In my experience small fandoms get very cliquey very fast. Sometimes it’s not even cliquey, it’s like everyone’s there out of obligation. Got into a bunch of 80’s tv shows two years ago and ended up moderating a discord server for this one series I will not throw under the bus. The shit I saw in that space. Woof. Nobody liked each other, but they had no other options if they wanted to talk about this show. It was not a pleasant space.
