I’m currently insane about epic the musical, the hyper fixation is wow, real intense right now, the people who live with me can barely stand it Orz

As always, when obsessed with something new I want to read 283759103756 fics of it, and while I already have read a fuckton the amount of pj&o crossovers made me a bit greedy ngl, I kinda want to see crossovers with more of my favorite fandoms too orz

(Odysseus is already getting so long to get back home he might as well suffer in other universes too)

Mostly I’m getting my creative license, mucking up the timeline to help with my vision and putting wangxian+juniors in the story

At first it was just wax and lsz in ithaca, getting there at the same time as the suitor, with lwj in the lotus-eaters island as Odysseus is getting there (cue the fudged timeline)

Make lwj fight to go back to his son and husbands yaknow, fun times! (The canon timeline would have not worked there bc I doubt wwx would stay put for that long, but having to deal with the suitors for 2 to 3 years sound more in character, have a-yuan there also would limit his movement too since he wouldn’t want to put a baby 17 yo in danger, yes he was already suffering the horrors at the age, not my point)

Of course I soon realized it would be much more fun to put the four juniors in ithaca, since they’re in the same age group as the prince they could all be friend, the shenanigans would for sure be fun

Them of course there’s the fact that lwj would probably try to fly by land if he was far from his family… at first I just got Zeus to be my plot device and to strike him if he got too comfortable in the sky but ig trading him and wwx (lwj with the kids in ithaca, wwx with the crew) would work pretty greatly too, having the magic their use working differently made lwj be nerfed in the travel but wwx is That Guy so I’m sure he’d be finagling with the magic enough to make it into a fairly easier fix-it

Another difference is the communication, is so hard to imagine lwj/crew interactions in my head, he not only is quiet and hard to read he’d be polite too which means i have a hard time imagining his interactions with the crew and plot (an actual writer could make it soooo good tho)

Meanwhile a wwx with the crew would be very fun indeed, but I fear he’d end up shooting himself in the foot a bit, which could be another interesting plot stuff, even if he’s quite smart this is not really his world and he for sure not be prepared to be cautious enough. Super plus! Lwj waiting in ithaca, like he waited for his mother, very poetic, very cathartic once his husband comes back home. He’s also super lordly and could bond quite well with Penelope, he’d get a lot of the aggro from the suitors too, this clearly noble and powerful second son is surely competition (they don’t know he is a suitor)

But them they were already apart for long enough, I’d say, 13 to 16 years of death and all the pre death angst sounds like a good reason to not separate them… out them together with Odysseus, on their way to pick up the kids

In this case wwx would be in the lotus-eater island alone but lwj could be on Polyphemus’ island, let the juniors and Telemachus work themselves against the suitors, more dangerous for them for sure but it could be quite fun to read Penelope and/or Athena guiding them, those kids are in need of some feminine role models, it’ll be good for them

Also Odysseus picking up this clearly powerful warrior who seems worried and longing like him even if he hides it better and bonding about missing their family (wwx has been parted for a few days at most lmao, ody doesn’t know) just for them to find his husband in the next island would be very funny, he’d be kinda jealous and absolutely weepy, meanwhile the crew is watching the guy who was learning too fast how to deal with their ships and handed their asses to them when he was goaded into sparing and is clearly a badass turning into a dramatic, swooning, self entitled fragile wife clinging to this other guy… the scene brings me too much joy skskskksksksk

From them, for the travels to take some time but be a everybody lives fix-it (because that’s how I roll) they could scheme to steal without permanently blinding Polyphemus, maybe taking his vision with magic and tricking him into giving food to have it back, it would still get Poseidon to be an ass but without the doxxing Poseidon would not be able to say for certain it was them, so he’d just give them a perilous rote home without actually showing up to drown them

When Luo Qingyang very publicly leaves the Jin sect her shimeis get worried very fast, its not a secret that her (very respectful and distant) friendship with the Jin heir gave her Madam Jin`s support and therefore power

She was still a woman in the Jin sect, which means that power wasn`t really enough to change things, but she used it to make life easier for other woman there, her shimei most of all, it was her self-assigned duty to make sure they were safe from the kind of man JGS and his friends were, she`d run interference and do what she could long enough for them to learn how to protect themselves.

All that to mean that after she leaves the sect, the next week the younger girls gather to talk in the dormitories, they`re a bunch of kids from 11 to 16 years old who are sure that without Mianmian to control jilingtai it will soon be unsafe for any woman, really (they may or may not idolize luo-shijie a bit much).

They end up involving some of mianmian`s age mates too, the ones who are their sisters or cousins and can be trusted, to help organize their group desertion, its easier them it should be, really the leave in small groups and by the second month more them 150 of mianmian`s ex-shimeis and shijies are all camping and waiting for the stragglers.

(JGY is first made to believe that the woman are making themselves scarce going to outside training or night hunting, which he doesn’t interfere with for the first month or so, once he realizes what they`re planning he goes to tattle but JGS doens`t really care, its not like they would really leave the great Jin sect and there isn’t that many female disciples anyway (there are a lot, he just doesn’t get o see them))

By the end of it all, a group of twenty or so Jin cultivators declares that they and some of their shidimeis are taking their personal belongings and seceding from the Jin sect (most of those last ones are adult woman cultivators, plus a handful of shidi of different ages that are related and absolutely trusted)

Jin Guangshan may be pissed about losing face, but he acts magnanimously and derisive in dismissing them, not forgetting to threaten them about not using Jin technics

Remember how I said they were camping? They decided the best place to do that was near Yilling, since they were also hoping to find Luo-shijie and the last time she was seen was defending Wei Wuxian…

Part 2 of my cultivator’s space travel au

Jiang Chengs visit goes differently but also not, he’s still angry about wwx acting alone and not thinking of them and wwx is still not going back and says he should be banished but the lans are there so he goes instead “fuck you, you’re still MY first disciple and because of the shit you’re pulling I’ll pay you only half a salary for the next year” so there’s that

wwx already solved the soil situation, wen Ning is being a well adjusted sentient zombie and the barriers in the bm are good enough with the support of the 3 non great sects who are doing patrol’s for security (who’s security depends on who you’re asking, they’re still all tiptoeing around the issue with the jin since no one wants another war)

He ends up sending bothe jiang wanyin and lan zhan some stuff on how to improve their own barriers, too

So while this would the time for the yllz fall back into his research of the gui dao lwj is ready with a list of theories around qiankun pouch’s of past scholars that range from infinite preservation of food, to instant travel without expenditure of huge amounts of qi

Wwx is absolutely Into that shit (he’s also not stupid and knows what lan zhan is trying to do, but he’s so grateful at the moment for all the help he will keep the working on his resentment focused stuff when he’s not around to get upset)

While the help is good everyone is still too strapped for money to really help monetarily (the jin did cut the loans they were giving to both jin and jiang)

Wwx ends up creating some ‘simple’ everyday stuff like a stasis charm that doesn’t need a cultivator to be permanently activated, and carved charms that will adjust a room’s temperature to warm

It’s stuff that it’s not really useful to cultivators but help on the settlement

Once a Jiang disciple goes there to give another letter with updates on the situation in the outside words she sees the civilians using the stuff and goes !!!!!!!! Let’s sell the shit out of it!!!

Soon there’s not only a rotation of 20’ish jiang and lan disciples being assistants to learn and reproduce his stuff to sell (wwx insisted he wouldn’t be able to make that stuff without lz’s help, so they get a cut ofc) but also always at least 3 lan researchers there to help him with research & development

Since the jiang are taking care of distribution jc is ok with only making wwx chose at least one of the jiang helpers to be a direct disciple and work in r&d too

Things I want them to create:

expansion array (first for use in the tents and huts the wen are living in, after adapted for wagons with stasis built in, to be used by merchants)

Another array to maintain granaries free of pest/fire/water etc

An kiln with no need for fuel, adapted to portable braziers by R&d and into a super duper stove by wwx

“Since we have a stove for the cold might as well make one for the heat too” and them takes 2 hours to make a magical air conditioner that’s the size of a cat

(The jin may be v pissed about not being able to pirate their stuff quickly enough, it doesn’t have many safety measures against it being stolen but it’s hard to reproduce without instructions… there’s not really a treat in that area since even if they do crack one of the inventions the quality will not be the same (bc jgs would want to cut corners on the expenses I’m sure))

He ends up making the compass of evil, improving the yin attraction flags and other cultivation tools too, which is when Nie mingjue finally folds to nie huaisang’s nagging and asks for a collaboration with wwx to make a tool to help with their qi deviation thing (enters wen Qing, who’s been doing her own research with lwj about resentment from a health perspective)

The realization of which, together with all the other stuff and correspondence happening in the scholars’ circles cements the yilling Laozu as a beloved genius for both civilians and cultivators

(I like to think that there’s one very old lan elder who is permanently working with Wei wuxian and they hold correspondence with scholars of other sects)

Finally he decides to work on a big project to help the jiang’s distribution of goods… a super secure and fast ship that is super bigger inside with different storage spaces and can also walk on land and fly and!!- he has a vision ok? the other researchers are also kinda invested too after Wei Ying makes his pitch on how it could be possible

Mdzs fix it au where yllz and the wens go away from the sects’ lands

So wwx, trying to invent a pocket space/ hidden helm ends up inventing warp travel… I want Cultivators in space…

Since I’m pretty sure the 50 or so wen civilians + a doctor, a zombie and a me romanced would have a hard time managing that in a timely manner I’ll fudge things up some more:

Lwj (can’t leave my boy out of that ofc) convinces the elders to the necessity of investigating yilling/the burial mounds and ends up going to visit the settlement before Jiang wanyin even gets there, wwx is all over the place and most of the time working trying to make farming possible, bringing wen Ning back and making the burial mounds barriers better, one of those ideas is inspired by the concept of qiankun specs ofc… lwj let’s wwx study his qiankun sleeves and promises to bring back some books about it for him (the other defense ideas rely too much on resentment to be truly after all)

The lan elders, differently from his uncle and brother do not know about how he’s in love with wwx so they give him the benefit of doubt and want him to investigate more, they’re more afraid of another war with the Jin’s then anything else so hanguang-jun decides this means he will send some disciples to investigate the jin and bring back some others with himself to the burialmounds to get their testimony, and information

They end up helping there ofc, wouldn’t do to nele these people stop their work and building efforts to help them out without giving a hand

He can’t really give books away but he did bring one of the seniors who embroiders the lan uniforms and another a healer who deals with spiritual cognition on possession victims too…

(… I think I forgot about my cultivators in space objective for a moment there…..)

With the lans lurking about the wen Ning situation is solved much quicker, just in time for the Jiang sect leader to appear extremely pissed, the Jiang (and Nie) was already contacted about the Jin’s violation of the post-war agreement by hgj who’s been doing a lot of legwork

I had a liushen dream… modern au liushen where, from sy’s pov they’re best friends and he just realizes he caught feelings, went through a whole journey of avoiding him, self acceptance, pining, jealousy, being afraid of losing lqg, and finally determination to woo him

Meanwhile qingge thought they dated, broke up, he cried about it with a friend, and them sy decided he wanted them to be friends… but now he’s determined to seduce sy back into dating him

I wanted a Nie wwx au and this is my convoluted way to get it:

Lao Nie (Nie mingjue’s das has no name I can remember so I’ll call him this) had a a pretty good relationship with his wife even if it was an arranged marriage, in fact they had an understanding that as long as Lao Nie married the woman his wife loved as a second wife he could have as many discreet dalliances as he wanted (they agreed to have not only the expected heir but also give him two or three siblings, both of them wher already dead by the time nhs was 3 so not an option)

Then we have Wei Changze and Cangse Sanren, who both wanted children but couldn’t have them cause Wei Changze was either trans or infertile so they decided to ask someone else to father the child: ie the Nie sect leader who nighthunted with cssr in her youth, left a good impression on them and has also flirted with both e WCZ and CSSR separately AND together, the fact that he already had a tiny mingjue who was very adorable was also important, good genes

Lao Nie joking about being used as a stud once again, when his recently married second wife had just gave birth to his second son agrees to help them with the agreement that the child will meet his older siblings eventually

Them it’s canon timeline of orphaned wwx, jfm AND Lao Nie looking for the kid but jfm is the one who finds him still

Inspired by @ficsiwontwrite but regressor SJ who kills qjl, steals all of the slave contracts, burns them, and fucks off directly to Cang Qiong.

He doesn't like it, but it's home. And it'll feel nice to haunt YQY and threaten to expose him before he's consolidated his position in the sect.

Instead, upon arriving at the disciple selection he's immediately tackled by YQ (who looks exhausted btw) who is ugly sobbing about how happy he is to see Xiao-Jiu and how sorry he is for being slow.

SJ is mostly shocked and still hasn't really reacted when the sect leader walks up and yq then turns to blubber that Xiao-Jiu is a much stronger cultivator than him and SJ can have his place so long as YQ isn't sent away and the sect leader laughs in his face (kindly) and says to let SJ participate in selection, so all of the peak lords can see his potential

SJ doesn't recover mentally from the whiplash but he gets to work on digging his hole and is selected by his own Shizun again and HEY QI-GE WTF, WHAT HAPPENED TO MAKE YOU HATE ME

(YQ eventually admits to planning to claim his sword early even though the sect leader didn't allow it and sj feels a terrible chill because YQY literally drew his sword only once that's not normal what did he do)

Airplane's mind is a deadly trap for dream demons

Sometimes Airplane is attacked by dream demons (Meng Mo is not the only representative of this species). But it turned out that inside his mind he is stronger than them by default. When he detects their presence, he attacks them and catches them, locking them in a trap. Then he interrogates and kills them.

At the moment, he does not even have to approach them, he can simply send the creations of his mind towards the sensed presence. He deals with the captured ones when he has time and desire, which means they can spend up to several days in the trap before he remembers them.

Once again remembering about catching another intruder, Shang Qinghua, looking into the trap, finds a frightened Luo-shiji there.😐

Meanwhile, Luo Binghe, studying under Meng Mo, has begun to test his powers in the dreams of more than just his students. One day, he hopes to cast a nightmare on Liu Qingge, but for now, he has decided to choose the weaker Peak Lord to test his powers. Who knew he would be so wrong about his target? And now, after an unknown amount of time spent panicking in a trap, he is desperately trying to come up with a plausible explanation for Shang Shishu as to why he has the skills of a dream demon. And also a way to convince his captor to let him go and not tell Shizun about this.😭

Shang Qinghua, who is tried to be moved to pity by tears: "… Trying to beat me at my own game, brat?"😑

P.S. This scenario but with Emperor Luo Bighe is also fun.

Regressor shen jiu (svsss timeline, after he had that qi deviation) going back to somewhere in time before he got into can’t qiong

Maybe when he was with Wu whatshisname, it would take some time for him to assassinate the guy, but even without his cultivation he can still be crafty

Maybe instead he was even younger and already at the qiu househood, it would be even easier to assassinate an asshole and run away them.

This hast to be imagined by sj pov because the tone of narration being full of bitter, anger and angst until he meets a weird street rat kid who talks strangely, knows things he shouldn’t know about people and somehow has weirdly needed knowledge

They’ll be walking and the kid will go all vacant eyes, creepy silence (he never stops babbling otherwise) and wander of till he finds a flower and stuffs it in his mouth

The weirdo’s good luck is useful tho, so sj will reluctantly allow this kid to tail along and call him gege

Also the younger brother is sqh, who with only partial memories of his last life and is still very much a child ran away/got lost due to neglect and ended up activating the system’s life preserving service, where it’ll occasionally send him vision of things that will help him survive

I like the stories where bingge goes dimension hopping to find a ‘kind shizun’ for himself, those are great, I like them even better when he ends up with other characters instead (usually shen jiu, but it’d be a great setting for binghua too)

Now, in a sy x lqg au where sy transmigrated in a npc, that world’s binghe grew up admiring his shishu (lqg) and his cultivation partner but they where never close so he just got a puppy crush in his past but he’s over it and thats very embarrassing to remember, actually

Binghe grew up learning to be a kind and smart cultivator, the hero worship made him subconsciously emulate sy, even if he’s still a bit of a manipulative and snarky little shit at heart

Meanwhile Bingge already knows the soul he is looking for is not always reincarnates as sqq and learned after many worlds to keep a eye open, last time the kind shizun was just getting into a committed relationship so he won’t be slow next time!!!! He’s pissed

He’s been seen with all of those guys but since his manager Shang Qinghua was always close there where never credible scandals…

The husband is Shang Qinghua, ofc, he’d feel offended for being dismissed as an option when they haven’t been hiding their dates since sy’s second award… but he’s actually laughing at sy’s creative cursing of the netizens for being too stupid
