The only good thing about being sick for the past four/five days is that I finally got the chance to watch Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel and now I need blitz and stolas fanfiction so bad I might actually cry.

What are your favorite strategies to make players engage with your world?
Oh wow my first ask, That's exciting hehe!
Hello 👋🏻
I'm still new to all of this, so I'm just figuring it out as I go. Honestly, until last session I was really struggling to get my party to be invested and engaged with the world around them. They're very single minded in the sense that they had one job and that was the only thing they were interested in. Last session was literally the only one out of 5 that they actually engaged with the people of the city and went shopping. The only thing that got them to that point is that I gave them useless but expensive loot whenever they searched the bodies of their enemies. Someone found a gold wedding ring, an emerald necklace or just anything expensive that they can't really use but would be sold for a good price to fund their journey. What helped more is one of the party members had skinned a rabbit while they were camping and wanted to turn the fur into gloves and a hat and I took the opportunity to make the others interested in wandering through the shops by making his experience go not so well. Like the first shop he had gone into was an armory and the shopkeeper was a dwarf and he was an elf and it was hate at first sight for both of them and he ended up being chased out of the shop and it just went downhill from there. He was rude to the apothecary and a couple of other people so he had created this bad reputation. The rest of the party hadn't left the inn and so when he was on the way back, having witnessed what just happened as themselves and not the characters they thought it would be fun to go out to buy armors and new swords and make fun of their "friend" with the people of the city.
It was really fun, I'm not sure if that was considered meta gaming or something but I'm glad it happened because they had fun roleplay and making fun of the party's druid (the one with the rabbit fur) and they mingled around and explored the city.
I've had them overhear rumors about the towns they were at or witness trouble unfolding but every time they have no interest whatsoever to explore or interfere so I thought giving them things to sell would be a good option to try out!
Each party is different, mine are really difficult when it comes to exploring the world and taking interest in it so I've been trying to be creative and try out different ways but you know your party better and will be able to tell what they would like or what works for them better than anyone else!

10 Non-Lethal Injuries to Add Pain to Your Writing
While lethal injuries often take center stage, non-lethal injuries can create lasting effects on characters, shaping their journeys in unique ways. If you need a simple way to make your characters feel pain during a scene, here are some ideas:
Sprained Ankle
A common injury that can severely limit mobility, forcing characters to adapt their plans and experience frustration as they navigate their environment.
Rib Contusion
A painful bruise on the ribs can make breathing difficult and create tension, especially during action scenes, where every breath becomes a reminder of vulnerability.
Concussion
This brain injury can lead to confusion, dizziness, and mood swings, affecting a character’s judgment and creating a sense of unpredictability in their actions.
Fractured Finger
A broken finger can complicate tasks that require fine motor skills, causing frustration and emphasizing a character’s dependence on their hands.
Road Rash
The raw, painful skin resulting from a fall can symbolize struggle and endurance, highlighting a character's resilience in the face of physical hardship.
Shoulder Dislocation
This injury can be excruciating and often leads to an inability to use one arm, forcing characters to confront their limitations while adding urgency to their situation.
Deep Laceration
A cut that requires stitches can evoke visceral imagery and tension, especially if the character has to navigate their surroundings while in pain.
Burns
Whether from fire, chemicals, or hot surfaces, burns can cause intense suffering and lingering trauma, serving as a physical reminder of a character’s past mistakes or battles.
Pulled Muscle
This can create ongoing pain and restrict movement, providing an opportunity for characters to experience frustration or the need to lean on others for support.
Tendonitis
Inflammation of a tendon can cause chronic pain and limit a character's ability to perform tasks they usually take for granted, highlighting their struggle to adapt and overcome.

I'm not saying I'm wife material, but that's exactly what I'm saying—you know? I woke up early and made bread, like I actually made it with my bare hands and fed three people before 7 am. I think that's as good a reason as any. What more do people expect anyway? I am an accomplished young lady 😌

Okay maybe I do look a little pretty when I cry....... I kinda understand all those times they made me cry on purpose and then said "but you look so pretty when you cry" like that justifies it. It doesn't, but I do understand the pretty part. Not too bad, not too bad!

Okay so hear me out: I work with someone who is a walking example of "weponized incompetence" she's what one would say is a selective disaster. Anyway, we're not in the same department but my work depends on her entries so I have to contact her a lot during certain closing periods. I don't like her, she apparently can't tell I don't like her and have been under the expression that her friendship is welcomed—it is not. She tried to be funny with and what not and when she found no reciprocation she switched to trying to offend me or belittle me (she's a decade older than me). I simply said, unfortunately not to her (she disappeared mid conversation), that she doesn't have enough intelligence to insult me, the people who were present to hear this, said I am a savage and should tone it down.......? Excuse me????
