The secret obssesion

I made a mistake. I did it and I'm paying for it. I hear the comments people make about me, even though they are whispering, when I pass by, I feel the judgement in their glances, following me. I am watched, they inform you of everything I do, they don't like me and they didn't even try to talk to me before deciding that.

I knew this was going to happen. Specially, when everyone loves you, so I get why everyone hates me. What I don't get is, you did the same and there you are, free.

Not to me, but with me, not at the time I did but years later, yet, it's the same thing. Nobody looks at you angrily, you have so many friends and people that are beside you and support you... Oh, they don't know about us, would things change if they did?

I want to tell them. Yell at the world the person they adore so much is as rotten as me, that person who was the victim is now the victimazer. I can't help but laugh, your girlfriend really loved you as who you were, tolerated your mistakes and saw herself with you growing old together, she wanted the future I don't want, but you still left her for me.

And that's why I have to keep my mouth shut. No, nobody would blame you. I would be the witch who, again, made you fall into my trap and, now wouldn't have broken only one heart but two. Stealing someone that wasnt mine... I never wanted that, you came on your own. Don't forget it.

I get furious when in public, you act like I'm part of the background. You wanted me. You like me, so I don't like if others think I'm the one who's chasing you. You know people would hate me more if they knew the things you tell me in private "I'm protecting you, I don't want them to hurt you, I promise, we won't be a secret forever. I will be yours to everyone." Maybe I don't want you to be mine. Why am I still here?

I was the official, then a stranger, then the other one and now the secret. I'm still judged, but you, have the best of everything with absolute no consequences. I know, I'm a bad person and deserve this, but I'm tired of this constant punishment. I regret with all my heart what happened, and I hate what's happening now but, I can't stop myself. Do I want to destroy me or do I want to destroy you and won't stop until you feel what I feel? Maybe it's both.

How does it feel to love something forbidden? I'm not naive, maybe you don't even love me, but it's okay, that would make everything easier when I, eventually, leave you. I feel sick of hiding and lies, I want to be free, like you.

A part of me is afraid of this secret and whar it entails. Will I ruin my life again? I really wanted to make things right, but I'm a people pleaser, and you, seem to be obssesed with all of this.

Nobody should be like me

I feel jealous. I envy you, for all your friends and the people who love you. When you cry, there's always someone who comforts you, when you laugh, there's always someone laughing with you. When I cry, I do it in my room, by myself and drowning my whimpers with music, when I laugh, nobody listens, the same happens when I speak, but everyone listens to you.

But you love me, and that's the problem. Why do you love me when I hate you? Why do you look at me like I matter when I don't?I hurt you in the worst ways, but you still say you never stopped loving me, that I have something you like so much, you fall deeper and deeper. I pity you, I only wish for you to be as lonely and unhappy as I am and yet...

If I lose you again, I will be alone. All your friends will hate us if we continue this path, they will hate me more than ever, you know this, and still say that you won't care, that you'll protect me, that you won't let them hurt me anymore and you will discard everyone if it means that I will be yours. Am I deceiving you? Why do I care? If I never met you none of this would have happened. I wish I never talked to you that day. I wish that I was a better person, so I could say that I wished you act like them, but I don't want that. I like you, loving me.

A part of me though, dreads the idea of hurting you again, hates seeing you cry and wants to hug you and give you the impression everything is going to be fine, that this time it will work, that it will be different and we'll get our happy ending, but before I can think there's still hope for me being a good person, there's the other side of me. My brain keeps screaming why do you have all the things I want, how easy is to discard them for you, why I'm here, feeling like I'm drowning every single day, while everyone loves you. This is why nobody should be like me, and why you should run, yet, you're here and I'm in your heart. It's too late for us.

Google book recommendations suck.

I need friends to lovers book recommendations, not mutual pining, not unrequited love, not rivals to lovers. Friends to lovers books.

The ones when the protagonists understand each other and care for each other before it's romantic, when they ask themselves "Is this what friends do?" At some point in the story, when they have a connection that goes beyond the attraction, when they are platonic soulmates first, and then, something else.

But Google seems to confuse this with "Oh so you want one of them to be in love with the other for years but the second didn't realize their feelings yet!" Or "Ohh so they're helplessly in love with each other since the beginning but don't want to ruin the friendship!" NO. I want a story about 2 friends that are the most important person of each others lives first, and just then, start developing romantic feelings for the other.

So Tumblr, please help me. Help me find the story that will make my heart warm and give me butterflies. I'm desperate.
