So I saw @year2000electronics awesome sketch (everyone check out the original sketch it's so great!) and my thoughts were a combination of 1. This is one of the funniest Billford fanarts I've seen that will now live rent-free in my head, and 2. I really wanted to make it a fully colored piece. So that is what I did! Thank you so much year2000electronics for giving me permission to upload this ^_^

I think one of my favorite parts that I added myself was the glow I put around Bill and his word bubbles, it was fun figuring out which tools would get the glowing just right.

Also I'm imagining the real Ford's reaction off-camera, knowing that he now has to explain to his family certain things XD

Anyway!

This is another thing I did a while ago but forgot to upload. I absolutely love when people take Pokemon sprites (trainers or Pokemon themselves) and fuse them in a way that looks really cool.  I decided I wanted to try my hand at sprite manipulation.  It was an interesting learning experience for sure!  For so long I was intimidated by the very thought of trying to do sprite art.  Probably just because like with anything, if you’re unfamiliar with the specifics and the how-to’s it can feel overwhelming and daunting.  But sometimes you just have to go for it, look up some resources and how-to guides, and try it out!  And yeah, it’ll be difficult, and you’ll make mistakes and have to redo stuff, but that’s the truth with everything!  Life’s all about taking chances and making mistakes!

Hahaha, sorry don’t know why I suddenly decided to go all Ms. Frizzle at the end there.  Point is this was a fun experience and I’d like to try out more sprite edits in the future.  Maybe I’ll come back to this and figure out what I need to do to make her bangs look right XD

I initially wanted to wait until I made separate reference sheets for them, but I’ve been too busy lately so I’ll just most this image separately for now! 

My username namesake Floweramon, an OC I’ve had since I was about twelve, and her sister Evefemimon whom I seriously need to draw more. (last time was around 2005 I think XD)

Long story short, these two were in need of new reference images.  Floweramon has a few recent drawings I’ve been using in addition to the main reference for her I drew... back in 2006 XD So yes, it was long overdue to make a new main reference for them both.  I might update this later with the reference sheets when I finally do them, or I may just make a new post.  We’ll see!

Oof, cutting this one close XD But today is my birthday!  Anyone who’s known me long enough knows that I have a favorite comic that I share every year on my birthday (or they don’t, honestly since it happens once a year I wouldn’t be surprised if no one remembered that XD) Here is the comic in question!

Last year I decided to make my own real-life version of the birthday skeleton, with a little spooky cake for a stand!  For some reason I didn’t upload it until just now even though I’ve had it done for over a year now.  Oh well!

I have a little tea light that is supposed to light it up from the bottom.  I even drilled out the eyeholes for the effect (well that and for the bugs), because the whole thing was a hollow but solid plastic piece before I painted it.  But the black paint absorbs the light too well and you can’t really tell unless the room is completely dark.  Maybe someday I’ll add some sheen inside the skull to capture the light better.

The sprinkles are beads I painted to look a bit more sugar-coated XD

On a side note, I always imagine the Birthday Skeleton to have the same voice as the Dark Brotherhood Door from the Elder Scroll games.  Someday maybe I’ll have the courage to contact Jason Marsden to record the lines and I’ll make a video dub of the comic XD

More Charlie the Unicorn stuff!  Something something if you want merch you have to do it yourself something something.  They came out a little darker than intended, I probably could’ve put another layer of highlight on them, but overall I think they look fine ^_^ 

I almost didn’t do the faces because I was terrified of messing up such small details, but it ended up working out fine!  The eyes, surprisingly, turned out to not be so difficult, but getting Pink and Blue’s smiles right was a pain.  Luckily I still had some extra highlight paint to touch them up.

I got the base miniature from Shapeways, from this listing here.  I used an x-acto knife to cut the fur tufts from the legs. I debated sanding the manes down since they don’t have those, but I just decided... meh.  I may try to make Charlie the CEO and Starfish/Startaur in the future, but as you can see from the listing they are pricey miniatures, so we’ll see XD

Also I realized while typing this that I should have given Charlie the faintest little scar on his abdomen, for reasons :)

Also kind of want to do a dice tower of Candy Mountain, but I need to finish my current WIP dice tower first.

I always had a problem with the initial and most popular version of Bowsette because.... it doesn't look like Bowser as Peach, it just looks like Peach as a goth punk. The only real similarities were the spiky bands and the horns.  So I did my own version, slightly based on her Super Mario Sunshine halter dress.  Also, while I was working on this, a friend pointed out that "Bowsette” as a name for this transformation because the “-ette” in “Peachette” comes from Toadette’s name.  So I am calling my version “King Powser”.

Is it cringe to make fanart of your own mildly successful post?  Probably, but I don’t care, look at this baby I drew!  That is literally the best baby I’ve ever drawn!

The first and last moments he saw them...

So about a week ago I discovered that Charlie the Unicorn had a grand finale last year (I feel disappointed that not more was made of this and I have only recently found out :/) Aaaaaaand watching that has awoken my FilmCow-obsession.  I remember before I had a smart phone I had most of the FilmCow shorts at the time saved on my iPod and would watch them on repeat.  atching the finale was like being flung back into high school except without the shit of having to actually be in high school XD

Anyway, if you follow my main blog you probably also noticed I went through the search results of Charlie the Unicorn and have been sharing like crazy.  I’ve really been enjoying the art of @constant-downer​ who had make awesome humanoid versions of many of the characters as well as awesome animations (here’s two animations they did 1 2 ).  So this is based on their versions of Pink and Blue which I love so much!  

I also noticed while doing this that in the first and last moments Charlie sees Pink and Blue, his perspective is flipped.  The first moment he was lying on the ground as they look down on him, while the last time he’s floating above them as they look up.  I don’t know if that was an intentional parallel Jason Steele did but I like it!  It made for a fun little exercise to depict that shift in perspective both in the drawing of the characters and the background.

Also drawing crossed legs is haaaard.  In retrospect I probably could have made it easier by changing which leg was crossed over which, but whatever, live and learn.

Hey I finally finished this!  So I have been a long-time fan of WTFIWWY ever since its days on Channel Awesome.  I also follow Tara’s tiktok (not as much as I should because I am bad at tiktok) and when I saw this video (and a follow-up one where they showed off similar cups they had) I couldn’t get the image of Tara and Dan as Persephone and Hades out of my head.  And when I envisioned their cats as Cerebus (Caterebus???) I knew I had to bring the mental image to life, with the cups that started this whole things!  I wish I was better at drawing cats but it was fun deciding which part was for which cat.

I also decided to experiment with coloring the lineart after the fact so it gave a sort of blended outline appearance.  I think it works better in some areas of the pic than others but it was a fun experiment!  I also just kind of bullshitted the background with brushes and stuff, still on the fence about it. I went through three colors before I settled on a worn leather look for the couch because I’m super indecisive.

I now want to draw Nash as Momus, Greek God of irony and satire XD

I've always liked the phrase "Aunt Flo has come to visit" because it always brought to mind an irritating, uninvited relative that visits every month that makes life harder but you have to put up with because she's family.  

And for some reason I got the urge to draw my mental image of Aunt Flo, with a menstrual cup dress trimmed with cotton, handbag and necklace that look like tampons ( I wanted to go for one of those weird but expensive bags that no one would buy if they weren't a status symbol, except I imagine in Aunt Flo's case she genuinely likes it and doesn't understand why anyone wouldn't like it ), and sunglasses in a "liquid" drop shape.   I thought about making one of those elaborate necklaces in the shape of uterus and fallopian tubes, but I had already drawn the tampon necklace by the time I thought of it.  I wanted her palette to be red, white, and various shades of feminine-hygiene-product pink.

Someone pointed out she looks like she’d fit in the Doug universe, and now I can’t unsee it XD I’ve been getting the urge to do comics centered on her visits.  It would be a shame to let such a fun design stay at just this pic.  I don’t know, I’ll think about it.

My second attempt at a custom Funko pop! This is RGB from @modmad 's excellect webcomic The Property of Hate!

I used the head of a Prince Robot IV funko and the body of a King Dice funko. I wish I'd looked more carefully at the references prior to priming the body or else I could have sculpted out the differences before priming (like the coat tails and the open jacket). But oh well, we'll just call this an outfit variant XD

The cane was made from crafting wire, very simple. The hat was made from the cap of a distilled water jug, with the outside catch cut off (you can still see my very poor attempt at sanding and smoothing out the brim XD) and the hole plugged for the top. I originally used nail polish top coat to give the TV screen a glossy shine, but the sealant dulled it :/

I will say that I'm proud of how the smile came out. The green and pink dripping effects also look pretty nice I think ^_^

I have other custom funko pops I want to do, but I'll leave those as surprises for now ;)

Day 3! Got to break out my brush pen for this one. This is a creature that aids Carol and Osborn in safely escaping the other world, and for various reasons joins them. They are particularly attached to Osborn, and it is Osborn who gave them the name Keith because their real name wasn't pronouncible to humans. They often accompany Keith by shapeshipting into a cat or an article of clothing (whatever they feel like, they have no default form). If anyone notices the odd malleability of their form, most chalk it up to a trick of the light, and Keith is careful not to stick around in one place as a cat too long for people to notice their lack of eyes and look closer. While they are close to Osborn, he and Carol have a... slightly more complicated relationship.

Day two of Inktober! This is the second main character of Wayward Souls, Osborn Lovett. He is the eight year old cousin of Carol who looks up to his cousin a lot, following her around much to her annoyance. Unfortunately this means he ends up getting caught up in Carol's misadventures, which is how they both wound up transported to another world. While Carol was excited to explore it, Osborn was more hesitant of the situation. He is more scientifically minded and thus the unfamiliar situation made him more cautious. He was right to be cautious, considering what happens to him...

My friend and I haven't settled on the full extent on how the other world had affected him, except that he used to be quite chatty before the incident but is much more quiet.

Hello! I'm going to attempt Inktober again, this time I'll be drawing concept art for a story idea I have been working on with a friend called Wayward Souls. It's about a bunch of magically afflicted people living together in a sort of boarding house and aiding each other. It's kind of a fantasy Hey Arnold. This is the main character, Carol Johnson, a ten year old sent to live with her Grandma at the home. Her thing is twofold: she was "isekai"ed into another world along with her younger cousin and in the process gained the power to manipulate others like puppets, which is extremely dangerous and huge amount of responsibility for a small child. She also suffers PTSD from events in the other world from things done to her, things she did, and things that happened to her cousin, which is an ongoing issue in the story for her. She is a sarcastic and brash child that likes to explore her environment, with a biting wit and dry sense of humor that can come off as bratty. She also has an interest in the occult (which makes her current living situation ideal for her interests) and gardening. (gardening is one of the only things that can calm her)
