After I finished the Academic one, I got the strong urge to do one with Maven and Beechwood playing a genuinely nice friendly no-pressure game after the shit they went through. First time I've drawn a monkey since I was little so it's kind of weird, but whatever XD

A friend pointed something out that I didn't intend, but the back of the cards look a little like Yu-Gi-Oh cards XD I did think about doing a more elaborate backing on the cards akin to the Storridge card, and if I had that might have helped. But tbh I was starting to get a little burnt out so after a point I was just like "This is fine!" Other things that fell to the wayside as a result were doing more elaborate background with things like plants and bookshelves, again because of said burn out.

One other thing that didn't make the final drawing was: For the Maven vs Academic pic I was originally going to add some visual to show their inner thought process (like you sometimes see in anime), with Academic's intentions being more charged than just friendly competition (ala the comment of it being a "a friendly not at all charged game") and Maven picking up on it and being worried and unsure, all to contrast the friendly demeanors they have on the surface.

Other things I love in the pic (because I need to get more into the habit of saying nice things about my art)

-For once, the hands look mostly alright! -The card suit symbols on the buttons of the Academic's vest -Having the beads on the monocle string be made out of glim -Violant-colored collar brooch to match the violant eye makeup -The tea set is loosely based on a reward from the FATE-locked story "The Ceremony" -The First-City Coin stacks, not just the stacks themselves (though I am very happy about those) but the way I decided to arrange them (flower for Maven, card-like rectangle for Academic, cross for Beechwood) -The heart-shaped gem on the chairs, originally wasn't gonna do that but I thought it looked a little too plain and wanted to add an extra little touch.

Drifting

(I wrote a poem for the first time in years. It was all in one go, sorry that it's rough)

I am drifting Battered around With no control of where I go

I try to latch onto something I try to direct the tide I try to find land I try to swim I try I try I try

All I succeed in doing Is exhausting myself

Roleswapped Talaiporia and Rakove!

So these are characters created by @alexis-royce that have appeared in many stories of his, two of them being in the visual novels May I Take Your Order (highly recommend playing this, it's short and will show you a lot of their dynamic and character) and NonPlatonic Forms (warning, the second one is a Mature game, but still highly recommended if you are interested!). He recently made a fun roleswapped AU for NonPlatonic Forms with the main characters of that game, so I got it in my head to try and think of a roleswapped version of these two characters.

So here we are! Talai as a sadistic serial killer who is only getting away with her crimes because she is favored by this God-like being who is obsessively in love with her and won't leave her alone. Not totally sure about Rakove's appearance, he gives more ghost or genie vibes than God, but I like the way he playfully hovers behind Talai and her expression. I meant for it to just be him stalking and observing her as she murders some poor victim. But in retrospect this makes it look like she killed his human form and he is materializing back out of it behind her, flirting with her by complimenting how expertly she disemboweled him.

Trying to decide what Rakove would be the platonic ideal of. Obsession? Maybe she got his attention because of her insatiable obsession with violence, torture, and murder, and he in turn became obsessed with her. It was also suggested masochism would fit, and I could see that!

(It's also funny to imagine Rakove preemptively taking out anyone on Talai's serial killer trail, and she gets pissed because SHE wanted to kill them how dare he steal that opportunity from her.)

Just realized that I never uploaded this, so... here. It's old and not that good, but it felt seasonally appropriate. I saw this trend going around of v-tubers and artists putting their characters/models in a template with just a coat and scarf. I had this old art of my OC that was meant to be an early attempt at making a sprite just for fun. I scrapped it for various reasons, but it was good enough to use for the meme.

An attempt at doing a fusion (or I guess DNA Digivolution?) of Impmon and my OC Floweramon. I was tempted to add elements of his mega form Beelzemon, but I feel like such a thing could like be an alternate form in and of itself (like more grays and blacks, blonde hair instead of purple, red eyes, guns, formal leather jacket, ect) I don't know if I'm totally happy with it, but I've been meaning to draw this for forever so at least it's drawn now. I kind of want to name her Quinnimon because she gives me vague Harley Quinn vibes XD

Decided to do one of those Draw Your Character memes. I might try to do more to get myself back into the habit of drawing more. I did Inktober last month (I'll have to upload the pics soon) and that seemed to really help, so I'd like to keep that momentum up so I can upload something more than once or twice a year (if I'm lucky XD)

Seriously though, can't remember the last time I drew these two together. I thought of the script for this months ago but didn't know if I would ever get around to drawing it. Lo and behold, here it is ^_^

Earlier this year or last year I did an experiment to try and make a Hellaverse imp version of Impmon. I used the official image as a base but changed up the proportion a bit as well as using aspects of his mega form (the spiky hair, the markings that look like his third eye and the skull emblems, having the lower half of his clothes be leather in gray tones, ect) I had the idea to make his hair frame his face like how his white face fur is shaped, plus the eyebrows add to that as well. I also gave him eyes with red irises and greenish-yellow sclera (like how Fizzaroli has) to reference both the red eyes in his standard mega form and the green eyes in his rookie/blast-mode-mega form.

I like to imagine, much like in Digimon, in this version he likes to pick on Sinners as some big tough front to hide how weak he is, but the moment it looks like a fight might actually happen he runs away. Also in this theoretical version I like to imagine his day job is running deliveries for a bakery run by Sinners (a certain family who may or may not be based on other characters from the show ^_^), and they are getting sick of him picking fights and causing trouble.

So I saw @year2000electronics awesome sketch (everyone check out the original sketch it's so great!) and my thoughts were a combination of 1. This is one of the funniest Billford fanarts I've seen that will now live rent-free in my head, and 2. I really wanted to make it a fully colored piece. So that is what I did! Thank you so much year2000electronics for giving me permission to upload this ^_^

I think one of my favorite parts that I added myself was the glow I put around Bill and his word bubbles, it was fun figuring out which tools would get the glowing just right.

Also I'm imagining the real Ford's reaction off-camera, knowing that he now has to explain to his family certain things XD

Anyway!

This is another thing I did a while ago but forgot to upload. I absolutely love when people take Pokemon sprites (trainers or Pokemon themselves) and fuse them in a way that looks really cool.  I decided I wanted to try my hand at sprite manipulation.  It was an interesting learning experience for sure!  For so long I was intimidated by the very thought of trying to do sprite art.  Probably just because like with anything, if you’re unfamiliar with the specifics and the how-to’s it can feel overwhelming and daunting.  But sometimes you just have to go for it, look up some resources and how-to guides, and try it out!  And yeah, it’ll be difficult, and you’ll make mistakes and have to redo stuff, but that’s the truth with everything!  Life’s all about taking chances and making mistakes!

Hahaha, sorry don’t know why I suddenly decided to go all Ms. Frizzle at the end there.  Point is this was a fun experience and I’d like to try out more sprite edits in the future.  Maybe I’ll come back to this and figure out what I need to do to make her bangs look right XD

I initially wanted to wait until I made separate reference sheets for them, but I’ve been too busy lately so I’ll just most this image separately for now! 

My username namesake Floweramon, an OC I’ve had since I was about twelve, and her sister Evefemimon whom I seriously need to draw more. (last time was around 2005 I think XD)

Long story short, these two were in need of new reference images.  Floweramon has a few recent drawings I’ve been using in addition to the main reference for her I drew... back in 2006 XD So yes, it was long overdue to make a new main reference for them both.  I might update this later with the reference sheets when I finally do them, or I may just make a new post.  We’ll see!

Oof, cutting this one close XD But today is my birthday!  Anyone who’s known me long enough knows that I have a favorite comic that I share every year on my birthday (or they don’t, honestly since it happens once a year I wouldn’t be surprised if no one remembered that XD) Here is the comic in question!

Last year I decided to make my own real-life version of the birthday skeleton, with a little spooky cake for a stand!  For some reason I didn’t upload it until just now even though I’ve had it done for over a year now.  Oh well!

I have a little tea light that is supposed to light it up from the bottom.  I even drilled out the eyeholes for the effect (well that and for the bugs), because the whole thing was a hollow but solid plastic piece before I painted it.  But the black paint absorbs the light too well and you can’t really tell unless the room is completely dark.  Maybe someday I’ll add some sheen inside the skull to capture the light better.

The sprinkles are beads I painted to look a bit more sugar-coated XD

On a side note, I always imagine the Birthday Skeleton to have the same voice as the Dark Brotherhood Door from the Elder Scroll games.  Someday maybe I’ll have the courage to contact Jason Marsden to record the lines and I’ll make a video dub of the comic XD

More Charlie the Unicorn stuff!  Something something if you want merch you have to do it yourself something something.  They came out a little darker than intended, I probably could’ve put another layer of highlight on them, but overall I think they look fine ^_^ 

I almost didn’t do the faces because I was terrified of messing up such small details, but it ended up working out fine!  The eyes, surprisingly, turned out to not be so difficult, but getting Pink and Blue’s smiles right was a pain.  Luckily I still had some extra highlight paint to touch them up.

I got the base miniature from Shapeways, from this listing here.  I used an x-acto knife to cut the fur tufts from the legs. I debated sanding the manes down since they don’t have those, but I just decided... meh.  I may try to make Charlie the CEO and Starfish/Startaur in the future, but as you can see from the listing they are pricey miniatures, so we’ll see XD

Also I realized while typing this that I should have given Charlie the faintest little scar on his abdomen, for reasons :)

Also kind of want to do a dice tower of Candy Mountain, but I need to finish my current WIP dice tower first.
