𖤐 Ever since I was really young I’ve been infatuated with body modifications. Split tongues, Sharpened teeth, Gauges, Cheek Gauges/Holes, Eye tattoos, etc. I’ve always dreamed of having a split tongue, or sharp teeth. (Even though, my natural teeth are already pretty sharp). I never realized it’s because thats how my body is naturally supposed to be.

I know that being nonhuman can be a genuinely alienating experience and I'm not trying to suggest otherwise, but I honestly just can't get behind the people who say "being nonhuman is a serious identity and you're never allowed to have fun with it ever" cause like??? I'm a little fairy. I'm a silly unicorn. Not to say it's always easy, but a big chunk of my nonhuman identity is having fun with it and loving existing as I am. It honestly reminds me of tr*scum who push that being trans is nothing but pure misery.

If being nonhuman is serious to you that's fine, but you don't get to tell other nonhumans how they should view/interact with their own identities.

𖤐 One thing I’ve noticed about me being a Devil and being in the Devilkin/Demonkin/Otherkin community is that I am probably one of the youngest people within this community LOL. I feel like a baby compared to everyone else.

Reminders for the nonhuman community:

Alterhuman ≠ Nonhuman

Alterhuman is more vast and expansive than nonhuman and includes those who are 100% human

Alterhuman is supposed to be opt-in. Don't call someone alterhuman if they say they aren't

Same goes with any other term

We're not all animals

We're not all canines

We don't all desire to run on four legs and bark at things

Some of our identities are humanoid/human-like

Some of us are human too

Some of our alterhuman identities are 100% human (some fictionkin, some archetropes, etc.)

Some of us are human but to the left (see: otherhuman)

Nonhumanity is more vast than simply therianthropy or otherkinity

Nonhumanity can be a choice and it's no less important than involuntary nonhumanity

Being nonhuman for fun is okay

Transspecies isn't transphobic even if a transspecies person is cis

Nonhumanity doesn't have to be spiritual/have spiritual explanations

Not all nonhumanity is the result of past lives

It's okay to not want to use 'kin terminology

It's okay if you're physically nonhuman

It's okay if you don't subscribe to the idea of "of course we know we're ACTUALLY human"

It's okay if your experience is different than the vast majority of nonhumans
