what to do in singapore

where to stay
Hotel 81 — we got two family room to fit us all six. My sisters and I shared in one room. It's quite a travel from the city but it's Singapore, transportation system is superb plus long rides are always a treat to your senses.
Airbnb — is a good choice too if you're on a budget. I could have easily booked a place here but my parents are picky when it comes to accommodation. They only trust hotels. Lol, ikr.
where to go
Marina Bay Area & Starflyer — have you really been to Singapore if you didn’t go to see the iconic Marina Bay Sands?
Universal Studios — queue are always long, ofcourse but definitely worth it. Usually it takes an hour or two before you get on the ride or attraction but nonetheless, one for the books.
Orchard Road — shopping and tummy fix. There are Off White, Victoria's secret, Chanel and Prada spot don't expect the indie homegrown Singapore shops here.
Bugis Shopping Centre — but thank the heavens they have a cheaper option, bazaar style. A lot cheaper than stores in the malls like Vivo. Pasalubong heaven!
Haji Lane and Arab street — these two are on the itinerary but weren't able to go due to lack of time. Looking at the photos though, the place looks so ig-worthy! Plus, there's a lot of indie shops.
Art Science — another place we weren't able to go to. Another reason to go back to Singapore I guess?
where to eat
Hawker Centre — there are a lot of hawkers around where you can spot cheap food but delish.
Local food stores — always available, sometimes they open as early as 5am for breakfast. Most of Singaporeans are kind to help and share their best sellers in the menu.
Hawker Chan — world’s cheapest Michelin starred althoughh we have this in PH already, gotta get that authentic fix in Singapore!
food
Hainanese chicken rice — most well-known. Comes best with chili garlic sauce.
Char Kway Teow — expect to be full and wanting to skip the next meal after this. So freakin good.
Roti Prata — for breakfast with Milo. Legit bfast of the champions. I'm not a fan of curry sauce but it's good with this one. Get plain or cheese + onion. There's a lot too choose from though.
Chicken satay — we had these at Universal, though i feel like hawker centres do it best.
Laksa — need I say more?

tips
Get an EZ-link card as soon as you land, it’s super cheap and practical when you want to maximize their transportation system. Taking bus rides are my favorite here.
Download Google Maps, you will never get lost. But it’s not a bad thing to get lost in an unfamiliar city, eh?
Book tickets through Klook, it’s very efficient and sometimes you get discounts too! Go paperless, just scan or present your e-tickets and you’re good to go.
We booked through our friend, Culturescape. Check them out for a hassle free trip! Message them on their facebook page, they are very responsive! I bestow them a Michelin-star hehe. ;-)

Mini Adventure: Science + Art

When National Museum announced the opening of modernized Planetarium offering free admission, without second thoughts, even if it's one of my busiest weeks for that term, we scheduled one day just to visit. Jara, Cross' sister decided to come with us as well. Keep reading to know more about this mini adventure we had last month!

We decided to take the 10:30am screening time, I went early at their house and we took a jeepney to Luneta and started walking to Planetarium, and no joke, the sun was burning our skins but we didn't mind because we were too excited for the show.

I already forgot the time we arrived but we didn't catch the 10:30 screening, there was a long line (but it was bearable!) so we got the tickets for 1pm, The Goldilocks show. We decided to have lunch and just go back again. We took a jeep going to SM Manila but we could have walked instead but it was too hot already.
We had lunch at Hotstar and my toothache was killing me. I had fish instead of chicken since it's easier to chew. We bought our own snacks/desserts after. Jara bought her brownie chips, Cross and I had Quickly.
We went back to Planetarium and unfortunately, bringing of gadgets isn't allowed. So imagine our pain, I couldn't share what it looks like inside or whatever. But on the brighter note, I guess it's a good sign that everyone should visit and see for yourself.

The show finished around 2 in the afternoon, we walked our way to National Museum this time. My toothache is getting worse and Jara's feeling her tootchache as well.. but okay, art.

I've been here two years ago with my college friends for our Rizal and that time we had to pay but now admission is completely free!

Jara and I bringing you sass

Fun fact: I want to have a wall full of framed art on my dream house.

"Portrait of a Lady" unfinished painting of Fernando Amorsolo

The Twins. Haha I call them twins 'cause they look alot like each other.

One of my favorites!

And it's another episode of "Stand there," he said "You're an art" he said. The first one is here on my Vigan blog.

We visited Bencab's museum in Baguio in 2015 and I think you shouldn't miss it.

We wanted to check the 2nd level of this hall because it's so pretty. Obviously, we can't but we still took the stairs and tried to unlock the doors to this hall! Haha!

This time we're talking about not getting a grand luxurious chandelier on our houses, instead we'll turn the roof which light from the sky can easily penetrate. It can save money and energy!

And then... we got tired and our tootache is on it's maximum level of pain and I couldn't tolerate it anymore so I told them I need to take my meds, go back to the lobby and get my bag.

When we got to the lobby, they decided to go home already since all of us are tired. But our eyes were full (& stomachs as well!) We enjoyed our mini adventure exploring science and art in just one day.
For more information check National Museum's facebook page, for the screening time of National Planetarium and if they already apply the admission fees. But the Museum is free admission!

Mini Adventure: Cinema ‘76

They pulled out I'm Drunk I Love You on cinemas earlier than I expected, thus, I wasn't able to watch it. Then I stumbled upon this article about the showing of this film in Cinema '76 and so our mini adventure begins!

After I did some school errands like filming a street child for our Theology class, which he actually did for me. We left Intramuros early, even if our scheduled time to watch is 12nn. 1.) We don't want to be late 2.) It's our first time to commute to San Juan

How we went there
From Intramuros, we rode a jeep to Quiapo. From there, we rode FX going to Pasig and we told the driver to drop us on Dumlao. Landmark is Big Guys Pizza on the left side of the road, from there we walked along Luna Mencias street, until we reached Cinema '76 on the right side.

We arrived early, fortunately. So we had some time to check the place. One ticket costs P150. Oh the things we do for great films.

Cinema '76 accomodates 50-60 people and instead of usual cinema look, you get this cozy vibes because of couches and throw pillows! They even have a small dining area at the back so you can enjoy your meal while watching. How cool is that?

He already watched IDILY with his family, but he really wanted me to watch the film as well so he brought me here. I enjoyed the whole movie, it was artsy (indie music + film) and the cinematography, boy hands down!
After watching, we haven't eaten lunch yet and of course we're both hungry and we're both clueless about the food stores/mall around the area, so we just walked and walked and found this Shaw Center Mall.

I was craving for bagnet because of Maja. Fortunately, we saw this place which offers bagnet! Without second thoughts, we decided to eat here. I forgot the name of the place though.

I'm still in my washday uniform, ccccccringe. Hahahaha!

Here's an underexposed photo of a guy who makes me feel fear and excitement at the same time for bringing me to places I've never been.
Cinema '76 is at 160 Luna Mencias st., Brgy. Addition Hills, San Juan City.

Food Adventure: Blacksmith + Hugot Cafe

Yes, it's another food adventure, my friends. Our families and closest friends got used to our (Cross and I's) food trips that they wonder where we put all the food we eat. Here's another adventure that you might want to try for yourself so just keep reading!
Blacksmith Burger

It's a newly opened flame grilled burger truck in town! Cross watched a video from Blacksmith's facebook page that shows how they pour melted cheese to the burgers. Thus, we scheduled our burger date on a Saturday, after I attended Youth Alive.

Their service was pretty fast or maybe we're just good with timings. We ordered cheesy bacon fries, two meltdown burgers and a pitcher of iced tea. I love their fries!

He might not look like his happy but I know deep down his heart is jumping. Good in hiding hunger, huh?

Meltdown burger, P80. It's worth the price!
Hugot Cafe

This time, it's in his town. This cafe opened mid-2016 and since then we haven't tried this one even if it's just 3-5 minutes walk away from their place. One reason is because it's crowded since their advertisement on facebook went well.

We ordered two frappucinos named "Two timer" "Single". Everything on their menu is love/hugot terms.

Here's an inverted Eiffel tower.

This part caught my eye, it's a wall covered with book pages.

So far, so good. Nobody warned me that this guy would take me to places full of calories and temptations. I love dates like this though.
If you want to know more about their menus and location, I included their facebook pages below so you can check.
Blacksmith Burger located in Mcarthur Highway, Karuhatan 1440 Valenzuela City
Hugot Cafe located in Hermosa Street Corner Limay Street 1400 Manila, Philippines

FOOD ADVENTURE: The Yard

Since this food park has opened, we've been talking about how we wanted to go in this place but we couldn't find time and we're thinking about the crowd as well. Fortunately, my sisters attended a debut in Xavierville which happens to be in front of The Yard, so we gave it a shot and it happens to be our 37th monthsary as well!

We just dropped the twins in the venue and this time Cross has been calling me since he's in Marikina that time finishing their Physics project.

When we were about to cross the road, my sister saw Cross first getting off the tricycle. Haha! We got inside and decided to order our own meals. My sister and I had buffalo wings, my mom had her beef tapa, my tito craved for sizzling sisig and Cross being a seafood baby, ordered black mussels and shrimp.

After we had our meals, we transferred to another table, my mom ordered Nachos for us.

My sister and Cross wanted to try this inviting frappe so they gave it a try.

Few moments later, he kept on bugging me about buying fries. So I went with him to order fries, anyway the stall is just 5 steps away from out table, I remembered that I brought our phones with me since he left his on top of the table. After ordering and eating the fries... he said his phone is missing. So I was like "I brought it with me when we ordered!" and then of course, being the last one who held the phone, I'm the one responsible for it. My mom called his phone and someone answered, at the back of my mind, someone stole it. FORTUNATELY, I just left at the fries stall! *sigh* *ugly cry* Haha!

Sweet tooth alert! He bought this ice cream on top of a fried doughnut cone from Dip N Dough! He also bought me churros with matcha dip!

It was full of laughter and full stomachs! We had fun with my family as well. I hope days like this happen more often.
Cheers because it's already my summer break! And that means I'll be posting more of our mini-adventures and food trips in the past months. How about you guys? How's your summer break so far?

LIFE LATELY

Hello, i’ve been mia lately but 2017 has been treating me so well! Life has been eventful and I’m looking forward for more for the rest of the year. I have so many plans ahead but here are the things that I have accomplished so far.
1. First Photo Exhibit

This is one of our biggest projects this term. Actually, the most hassle. Our prof informed us that our exhibit will be about depression and weeks after he told us that our dean wanted us to put up an exhibit about women empowerment for International Women’s week. We’ve conditioned our minds about depression, I mean women empowerment is nice but changing plans last minute is the worst. But well, it’s done now and we successfully put up this exhibit.

Our exhibit’s theme is about Breaking The Stereotype. Just because you’re a woman, doesn’t mean you can’t do the things men usually do. There’s a little vanity corner, we have cosmetics mixed with costruction tools. Because you can do hard stuff and still put on make up and “be a girl”.
2. First time to model for an exhibit

So you already know that our exhibit is about women empowerment and here’s my favorite photo of all from the shoot. A woman driving a jeepney ‘cos why not? Well, it’s actually my dream to be a model either runway or whatever kind of model. Haha! Let’s take this one as a stepping stone.
3. Books! Books! Books!

So before 2017 started, I promised I’ll read atleast two books in a month. So far, so good. I finished 5 books already and it’s just the first 3 months of the year. Here’s to more books to read!
4. Giving K-Drama a shot

We all know someone who’s addicted to K-drama, mine happens to be one of my closest friends, Sunshine! Everytime we’ll bump into each other she would tell me that I have to watch Weightlifting. Hahaha! And I decided one day to give it a shot and I have no regrets!!!
5. Big sister duties

Last week was my sister's first prom, she asked me to do her make up and of course I cancell everything on that day just to give way to her request. On that day, I'm a make up artist and photographer all at once but I ain't complaining!
6. Foodtrips + Mini Adventures

And finally, i’m posting our food trips and our mini adventures soon and I can’t contain my excitement to share it to you guys! I’m so thankful to be with someone I can carry anytime anywhere. “Do you wanna go? I know you wanna!!” kind of person.

What’s in my school bag?

I’ve been switching bags from shoulder to sling bags for school almost everday. And with so many switches, I tend to worry about forgetting something. Until I found this perfect bag and I’m gonna stick with it for now. To know more about this bag and take a peak of what’s inside, keep reading!

So last Christmas, I was looking for a perfect school bag beause I feel like carrying a hand or shoulder bag contributes to my bad posture. I told my mom, I need a backpack to balance it. I got this one for less than 1,500 I guess!

I use this file pouch to keep my notebooks, journal, ballpen and other school stuff in one place. I hate seeing my bag unorganized. I actually have pouch for everything, literally! That’s what inside the pouch, just basic school stuff that I use everyday. Some filler notebooks for the two subjects that require it and my main notebook for the remaining subjects that I have. I got my journal from my old friend, because he’s an organizer in an event that gives away this journal. And the super artsy cutesy ruler is from my artsy cutesy boyfriend.

This pouch is a gift from Jara, my boyfriend’s sister, on my birthday two years ago! Hehe. It’s a has a light padding to protect the contents inside, that’s why I always bring this one everywhere that I go and this is where I put my gadgets, of course!

I don’t really put on too much make up like foundation and such everyday, because I’m a lazy person and obviously minimalistic too! I just apply lip tint and curl my lashes when I’m in the mood, haha! I don’t even use powder, okay I’m a loser i know. I always bring my hydrating oil and lip balm both from Human Nature and a perfume! I don’t even know why I’m bringing a comb because I don’t use it, seriously. I go out without my hair combed. My mom and my boyfriend scold me for doing so but whatever! Haha! Pouch from Estee Lauder, this originally my mom’s make up pouch.

The remaining essentials, my school ID, an umbrella which I bring everyday because duh the weather is unpredictable, leather wallet from Kate Spade, my two year old coin purse from Art work and a book, Another Day, for this coming week, I’ll be reading it and it’s extra precious for me because it’s from Cross! Weee!
That’s all, I’m a minamlist and organized person as you can see I don’t really bring unnecessary stuff and I want everything on its proper place everytime.

Third Anniversary: Spa + Foodpark

Three years of being together and we marked it with a chill-pamper-pig-out day. It's still giving me that feeling, remembering what happened that day and just thinking of all the things, lessons, experiences and love this journey with the weirdo has given me. Aaaaah crazy.
We've been wanting to get a massage since December last year, that's quite too long, I know, but we never really had the time to do it because of school. And since it's our anniversary, we felt the need to unwind.

We planned to go to a spa along West Ave., this place is literally chill. I love how accomodating the staff are and our laid-back room with soothing mint aroma and of course a good sound effect!

They provided us a robe and shorts, we had a good 1 hour and 10 minutes of whole body massage. It felt like heaven, seriously. And they even kept on asking us if the pressure were just right, and out of the perfection I was feeling, I couldn't even open my mouth to say yes, I just nod.
Cross liked it so much he even told me that we're gonna do it once a month from now on and I was like "I was just thinking about that!"

After our shower inside the spa, we headed to The Vibe, a food park along Mindanao Ave., maybe some of you might have heard about this place already. We arrived too early, around 3pm and the stalls were still closed. Although, there are some stalls which are open when we arrived, we still wanted to wait for every stall to open.

So while waiting, we bought Gyoza and Siomai because we both love dimsum!
We also explored the place and took photos of it while it's still not crowded!

And look at this witty washroom sign! Hahahaha!

I also bought ramen because we're getting really hungry because other stalls are taking forever to open. It's a 3/5 ramen for me.

The stalls look like these they have like a house/street number signs for each and every stall! So modern, right?

The food park has a second level and it's called Uptown Bronx.

You can tell I'm the happiest when I'm with him (yuck cheezy)

And finally, after an hour of waiting, all of the stalls are finally open! We ordered all at once so we can eat them too all at once! Hahaha!

One word, FEAST.
We were really looking forward to try that giant butterly squid from Baypoint because we both looooooove calamares. And it didn't disappoint us. We also had bacon cheese bombs, traditional chicken wings, roast beef and mashed potato and a fishbowl sized cucumber drink!

While we were eating, the lights lit up and boy was it magical!

My busog face. lol

After that meeeaaaal, we still have a room for dessert, knowing him as a sweet tooth, of course! We bought espresso ice cream and boy it's so fine!

At this moment, we're already on the third level of the food park! Enough to view the sky and the people below.
Maybe there's no enough time when I'm with him and I put our relationship in my prayers every day, for all the things that happen around us, we should always be covered. I'm forever grateful to share years of my life with him.

Ten Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me

No, it’s not another blog series because I’m an inconsistent person. Here are the things that not everyone knows about me because you know I’m secretive that way. Today, allow me to vent out.
01. I’m not afraid of being alone. I can eat by myself without feeling like a loser, do errands and walk home alone. I know a lot of people who hate being alone because the fear of looking friendless loser is real. But not on me, bruh. But—
02. I can’t sleep without someone beside me. I can’t remember the time that I actually slept alone because I’m afraid of the dark and I have that thing that my body wants to feel or touch like an assurance that I’m safe.
03. I act as a second mom. I’m such a bossy but caring creature. I get mad when my sisters go home late, I always tell my friends to do our homework on time to avoid cramming and the likes.
04. I have a youtube channel. This is my dream so subscribe on my channel ! (Yuck shameless plugging)
05. I love vegetables and sometimes when I’m on my way home from school, I dream of eating vegetables when I reach home. There was this time, when I was wishing that there’ll be veggies for dinner, only to find out, my mom cooked Chopsuey. Yes, let’s talk about the world’s favor.
06. I love swimsuits/bikinis. Well, I used to hate them before when I was a kid, the first bikini I owned is the one that my boyfriend bought me two years ago which I used for our Baler trip lol.
07. I’m transparent. When I hate you, you know that I do and when I love you, i would be the clingiest person in your whole life.
08. I always get “akala ko maarte ka” and I’m getting used to it already but guys I’m not ok.
09. I don’t play any sports but I used to play taekwondo when I was in gradeschool and I can play badminton too but not like a pro or something. So I was laughing when people asked me what sports/fitness thing I do when I posted my beach photos. Bruh, i’m the most inactive person.
10. I spend most of my time in the library during breaks. Either I’m sleeping or reading a book.
Cross made that digital drawing of me today and he also picked the background color for it. If there’s an awards night for the best boyfriend of the year award, he’ll definitely go on stage every year.

I’m really feeling blessed so I decided to start a new Sunday blog series and this time I hope it’s consistent. 2017 for me started so well, I knew I had to share it.
Today, we shared our lives to each other inside a cozy coffee shop in the city. We filled the table with laughter, tears, lessons in life, our unfiltered thoughts and everything in between.
My life group leader, Ate Kholyn is one of the persons I look up to the most not just because of her strong faith in the Lord and the commitment she has in serving Him but she’s also a woman of intelligence and power. I adore her and all of her achievements in life. My co-life group members which includes my sisters are the blessings in my life and I love the fact that we’re sharing our own personal stories to each other without needing to filter the things we say.
We talked about having a deep Christian conviction, which is obviously different from conscience — something we have in common, an inner voice that guides us to the rightness or wrongness of something. Having a deep Christian conviction is not just about knowing what is wrong, but also doing the right thing.
I shared with them that my college friends view me as someone they can’t invite to clubs, drinking or smoking. They know me as someone who says ”Aw sorry I have to go na eh, my mom is waiting for me” they call me kj or killjoy and I call that as someone with a deep Christian conviction.
I’m not saying this to brag or anything, I’m not saying this to say that not drinking makes me righteous or so.
I’m sharing this to let you know that God is working, we may not see it with our two eyes but He is. So maybe it’s time that we as a children of God, work for Him too, and let’s start working within ourselves.
I hope you all had a nice way of spending your Sunday. Share it with me through sending me a message or comment down below!

Boyfriend appreciation post

This year has been a great challenge for both of us. I could recount the times I grip on myself together and the moments we couldn't understand and it seemed like it's just darkness all over. And after all, we still chose to be each other's light.
2016, where we learned more about ourselves and mostly about our relationship.
I remembered my fifteen year old self writing a new year's eve letter to him, pure and bright. Three years later, we've known each other's weakenesses, flaws and all, and yet the letter is still pure and bright and more beautiful than the past years.
An open letter to the love of my life,
Cross, I've never called you by your name since we started dating, I just want to make you feel that I'm writing this from the bottom of my heart.
It was indeed a challenging year for both of us and I'm still wondering why you never hated me. Through all these years, you've made it clear to me that your love is endless and deep, I could compare them to the oceans. I may question you a lot and we may have contradicting views in some things, you have never judged me for anything but continued to love me.
Thank you for always encouraging me to do all the things that make me feel small. It felt like this year is my breakthrough year because opportunities came to me and you've been there, just supporting me every step of the way.
For keeping a tight grip on us, thank you. For staying with me all this time, thank you. For sharing your life with me, learning new things with me and growing up with me, thank you.
It's another year, my love. Let us conquer this year together, this world together. I'm so excited for a fresh start, new opportunities and to know what God has planned for both of us.

My mom wanted to go out of town on Christmas day. Aside from being close to Manila, we wanted that Christmas and chill—literally, because of its cool climate. For us, Tagaytay is the place to be.
The traffic on that day in Tagaytay is like a Manila traffic, it's was really bad. We were supposed to go to Skyranch and spend the night in Starbucks but traffic ruined our plans.
Instead, we settled in Metroview and had our late lunch at Hungry Gabby's!

One of the best bagnet I have ever tasted!

I wasn't able to take a photo of their Bulalo, since it's famous in Tagaytay/Batangas area because I was really hungry. Hahaha!

What our view looks like.

The twins, Gem & Get

And their matching outfits!

On the way home, I decided to play with the street lights and moving headlights. We grabbed Starbucks fix in Taft Ave branch before heading home! The traffic this time was bearable.

I had an amazing way of spending Christmas out of town with my family. I hope you all had a meaningful Christmas as well!
