oikawa tooru got in charge of training the other boys in his village at a young age. most of the kids listen to him, because everyone knows how cool he was at waterbending, except for one particularly infuriating kid: kageyama tobio. he was a waterbender too, like oikawa, and he was unfairly brilliant for his age. always wandering off by some excess snow, practicing turning it in its different forms: solid, liquid, and gas.

and just like that, that little stupid brat became the village’s pride and joy. he’s barely practiced as much as oikawa had, but he’s on the road to surpass him for sure. and it annoyed the hell out of him.

but for now, it was his duty to tolerate and teach him. oikawa tooru sighs.

“tobio-chan, get back here!” he yells.

oikawa tooru and sugawara koushi are waterbenders

like water, suga is calm and soothing. but water can also be sharp + versatile, which is very oikawa. theyre different ends of the same spectrum. 

suga is a healer, he nurtures and cares, but he's not just for support. he's always up to new things, trying out diff styles, learning from other benders, absorbing each style and making his own unique bending. 

oikawa is the tribe's best warrior. he aims with deadly accuracy. he teaches the kids of the village how to fight, and he does it well. a prospective chief of the tribe, everyone looks up to him. he has a knack for understanding ppl's needs and finds a way to help. :>

Bending while racing each other wasn't the smartest idea, because they got lost just as quick as they raced. How they got out of the cave, however, was another matter altogether (and a matter that they would simply Not Discuss). The blushes on their faces told the whole story though.

OISUGA WEEKEND IS BACK! it’s been two years (!!!) since the last oisuga week. you guys have been asking for another oisuga event, so here it is! :) oisuga weekend will be running from september 18th, 2020, to september 20th, 2020.

hi i am here to talk about tsukiyachi because i have began to realize the beautiful potential of it and it’s ?? underrated ?

first things first: their height diff?? amazing. she’s like a little rabbit and he’s a tol lean guy with glasses… too cute

on top of that she is the one person tsukki can’t really be mean to

they both strike me as quiet introverts whose minds dwell in the more abstract

they’d have deep convos about the secrets of the universe

but also quiet, unspoken moments where they don’t need to say what they’re thinking and yet the other will just know/understand

in the audio cd when ennoshita makes movies with the team, tsukki tries to cheer yachi up when she’s feeling insecure about her body type??? and his response “different people have different tastes” like ??? what are you implying tsukki, is she to your taste???? agsdlfgjosjskl

and then he’s somewhat miffed when it doesn’t land and yachi gets comforted by yams’s words instead

they’d have study dates together.. reading dates… sitting on a park bench just taking everything in while being silent in the moment

they’re both high achievers and the idea of them going to top universities in tokyo together?? then bonding a lot bc they’re the only two in their class and hometown that came out this far???? 💯💯💯

i feel like their hobbies would overlap a lot and all be of the high class intelligent quiet introvert sort

tsukki’s not easily embarrassed because he’s confident about most things but yachi just brings out his shy side because she’s a shy cutie herself

[tsukkiyachi] lucky

(a/n: this was a prompt submitted in my cc (twt/cc: kawakoushi) and the prompt was “you’re lucky you’re cute” aka super perfect for these bbs)

hitoka yachi is slowly warming up to the other first years. she thinks it's good progress! first was hinata, who approached her first for some review sessions. second was kageyama, who always asked her to throw the ball for him to set. third was yamaguchi, who always sat beside or cheered alongside her in the matches. and then there was tsukishima kei, who.. well, nothing. 

come to think of it, all the other first years always interacted with her first, so it was a little bit easier than others. but tsukishima never really.. needed anything from her. the most they've interacted are the times when she'd hand him a towel or a water bottle, and he'd reply with a single 'thanks'.

yachi isn't really sure how to get close to him. he's actually really intimidating, the more she thinks about it. she relays this to yamaguchi in between practices.

"tsukki? oh he always just looks like that, don't worry!" yamaguchi reassures.

"i don't really know how to approach him," yachi fidgets, "and as the next manager, shouldn't i at least be on good terms with everyone?"

yamaguchi nods in thought. "hmm.. that's true. but.. how could you guys interact more?"

they sat in silence. study sessions were out of question. helping him with volleyball? not when tsukishima was the first person to leave..

"we have absolutely nothing in common!" yachi cries exasperatedly. yamaguchi sympathetically pats her back. (in his mind, he disagrees. both blond, smart, and introverted-- they were much similar than yachi believes.)

"i think the opportunity will come around! there's no rush, it's okay, yachi-san!"

that makes her feel better, and she lets the subject rest altogether, but the next few days were just.. weird. yamaguchi must have said something to tsukishima for sure, because the blond middle blocker is starting to approach her a little more frequently. (the better question might be: why is she so hyper-aware of all this?)

it started with the casual "yachi-san, could i have another towel, please?" escalating to indirect compliments like "you're lucky yachi-san is patient enough to teach you simpletons!" to even a joking "wow, yachi-san, you're finally a master at dodgeball at this point!".

but of course, she had to mess it up.

it was the shiratorizawa game, their deciding match to nationals. tsukishima hurts his hand and kiyoko makes her take him to the clinic.

the walk there was quiet. he didn't face her, but she knew he was frustrated. she could tell from the sighs, the "tch's", and the gritted teeth, that he was itching to get back to court.

"i'm tired of playing five sets anyway. it's good to finally take a break." he remarks offhandedly, probably to reassure her that he was fine.

he wasn't and she knows it. and this has to be one of those times when she should give him a piece of her mind.

"he won't return to a lost match. we won't allow that to happen." kiyoko's confident words, just before she let yachi take him, ring through her mind.

"tsukishima-san," her voice was steady for once. that makes him look at her. "you can make it back in time, so quit moping. it's only your pinky finger, right? i noticed when i saw it up close. when it stops bleeding, some bandages should be fine and you'll be good to go. unless you're feeling dizzy or anything else?"

tsukishima looks stunned. it was the most she's ever said to him, and in such a direct manner too. in the painfully long few seconds of silence, she has a mental breakdown. was that too blunt? he definitely hates her now, and it was definitely going to affect the team, and she will definitely need to quit the team, and--

he clears his throat, averting his eyes, but he seems to look calmer and more collected. did her words have an effect on him?

"i'm fine, it's really just the stinging of my hand." then sneaking a curious glance at her, "who knew there was this side to you, yachi-san? you should definitely show it more."

yachi kind of wants to let the ground swallow her whole (how could she make such bold statements!), but she also kind of wants to keep.. whatever this was.. going.

"only when you drop your angsty teenager act."

tsukishima softly laughs. wait, he's laughing! at something she said! a weird sense of fulfillment floods through her chest.

"why did that hurt more than ushiwaka's stupid spike?"

yachi smiles, really wide and giddy, even if she didn't want it to. "at least you seem aware of it."

tsukishima pouts at her. they reach the door to the clinic. he seems to mull over something before deciding. his eyes briefly meet hers, and she sees the tips of his ears redden.

"you're lucky you're cute." he says, and leaves no room for reply as he opens the door and steps in the clinic quickly.

yachi, wide-eyed and heart suddenly pounding very fast, could only follow closely behind with a face so red that the nurse asks her if she was feeling unwell too.

[kagenoya] sweet as milk

(a/n: part time milk boy! noya and baker! tobio just pining like fools; also should i continue this?)

Nishinoya Yuu hops off from his bike and delivers bottles of milk to the local bakery in the neighborhood. It's what he does on the weekends, just to earn himself his weekly allowance in order not to burden his mother with his neverending appetite.

The sun is pleasantly warm that morning. Noya likes this time of day, when everything is peaceful and serene. It's early enough that there isn't much people outside, save for the friendly grandpa watering his garden and the lovely mother with her child clutching plastic bags filled with food after going to the market. The familiar scent of the bakeshop wafts through his senses as his bike comes to a stop.

The little bell rings when Noya pushes open the bakery's door with his shoulder, crate of bottled milk occupying both hands. A raven haired head sharply looks up and meets his eye, a hint of grumpiness melting away. (Probably Noya’s imagination..)

"Tobio! You're baking again!" Noya grins, hurriedly stepping next to him behind the glass case filled with freshly baked bread. Heavy, heavy, heavy. His greeting is returned with a nod. Typical snarky Kageyama Tobio. The baker leads him inside the pantry in, beside a large refrigerator to store the milk, in comfortable silence. Noya carefully places down the crate in its designated shelf and dusts off his hands, sneaking a look at Tobio.

The said boy reaches in his pocket and hands him the payment. Their hands brush against each other, igniting little fireworks in Noya's chest. He's always had a bit of a tiny crush on him, ever since they were little. It was a small town. They lived in the same block. Go to the same school. How could he not when the boy was so cute? It was a frustrating thing to deal with. 

"Thanks, Noya," he says. There's a tiny smile and his brows aren't furrowed. Tobio's hands fidget for some reason, and it leaves Noya to wonder what he's nervous about. "are you coming back in tomorrow?"

"Well, unless you manage to finish all that milk we've just fully stocked, I don't think so," Noya teases, and he feels a little giddy. "Why? What's up?"

"Oh nothing, nevermind," Tobio bumbles, speaking super fast. He pushes him out of the pantry gently, avoiding eye contact. "I'll see you around."

"Okay." Noya squeaks, lost. “Well, I’ll see you at school, Tobi-chan!” He turns around as they reach the cashier area, and gives him the most charming smile he’s got-- the ones he gave Kiyoko last year when he was convincing himself he was into girls. Tobio looks positively flustered. 

“Oh, and there’s an extra bottle in there for you. Drink it well!” he adds, as he waves the cute baker goodbye. 

He barely catches Tobio waving a quick bye bye and hurries back inside. Huh. Maybe he's finally picking up on his not-so-subtle flirting? Noya makes a mental note of coming back tomorrow just to get a reaction out of the normally aloof boy.
