how do we speak when all we see is
despair,,
complete loss of the human heart,
of human life?
We stay silent because we no longer see others;
because we feel we must face the world alone.

We are drawn to light-
though, it does not have to be
the radiating beams of another;
Sometimes, our own light is the sun others orbit.

I am imperfection.
I am moments of weakness,
grasping at air to help keep me steady.
I am fire slowly contained.
But I’m still a light -
finding my way home through the smoke.

Sometimes,
I just want to go home.
...get lost in a space
where I’m completely recognized.
Sometimes,
I need the reminder
that I wasn’t always
this version of myself.
Sometimes,
I need the nostalgia
of the life
that used to know me.

Even when there are
a million different words
that want to be spoken -
I only ever want to say
I love you.

I sleep better
In her arms.
I feel at home.
With her heart beating
against my back,
reminding me how much
I am wanted;
reminding me how much
I am known.

I always feel I am
in search of something greater;
That the magic Life brings
is never meant to stay.
I have only recently come to realize
that it is not the magic that is fleeting -
It is my belief
that I am.

What inspired you to write?
Love. Primarily love lost, but also new love and self love. That human experience is something that really inspires me.

why do I feel the need
to collect the bits and pieces of me
that fall
away.
when will I understand
the space makes room
for change?
It’s okay.

When I look back on my life, I know for certain my twenties will have been my greatest teacher. I’ve known heartache, and immeasurable loss. I’ve lost myself, and found her again with the help of a new love. Self love. I have harnessed the art of forgiving, and allowed myself to release what I can’t change. Ive learned to love myself- inside and out- and know that every roll of my belly is beautiful. I love my body. I’ve learned to love who I am. I’ve learned I love who I have become. Happiness is not dependent upon another person, but it sure is sweeter to share it. My twenties taught my me how much I adore my siblings; as much as I love my parents, I don’t have to be them. I have gained true passion in life. A passion to live, and a passion to help others live. My twenties have taught me that things won’t go as planned. Timelines are unrealistic. I have learned my voice is not to be taken for granted. I can fall in love with so many things at once. I have learned the love I deserve is not always the love I have given. I have learned to apologize even when I’m not ready to. I have learned I can always try harder. My twenties taught me that my story is beautiful because it’s mine.

All that I ask is
you tell me when you’ve let go.
Dont leave guessing.
I deserve to know
when the light I’ve brought you
has burnt out.
