Random Apollo-esque moodboard I threw together in a few minutes as a small devotional act. I love the way the colors come together. I also felt like I was embracing my middle school self, who used to love making these every day.

The gods are not defined by their mythos. Myths varied greatly by region because that is how people in those regions perceived the gods. They also had much different standards for what was acceptable back then. Yes this is about Hades taking Persephone to be his wife. No I do not romanticize the actions of Hades in the myths where he kidnaps and deceives her. But I accept the fact that Hades is not evil for these actions and Persephone does not hate him. Learning to disconnect Gods from their myths is a step towards being more accepting and opening of other practices. For example, "oh, you worship helios? I don't like him because of what he did to Odysseus' crew 😒" like be so forreal right now...

Don't fear the gods like you were taught in abrahamic religions. They don't care if you mess up or give them the wrong thing. They don't care if you aren't able to worship for a while because of mental health or your own safety. They're happy to be worshipped and thought about. As long as you aren't going into religious psychosis and giving Hades dead animal offerings or hurting people because he's the king of the underworld and you say "he told you to".. as long as you don't offer them people, animals (that you killed, skeletons you find should be okay bc it died naturally), or blood then you're good.

Spells We Did For The Strawberry Moon

This first spell is an emotional healing spell for someone very special to one of us. The flame burned so brilliantly the entire time the spell was active and we could feel the power from it. Very certain this one did its duty.

What You'd Need

1 white candle

Pinch of:

Rose petals

Ashwagandha

Orange peel

Lavender essential oil

Vessel (in this case the clam shell)

6 Strawberry Quartz chips

1 Amethyst point

As the candle burned I imagined a white, healing light coming from it and going into the body of the person I was doing the spell for. I kept my energy loving and positive for the duration of the spell, as to not interfere with the intentions.

This next spell was an abundance spell for the both of us. It's very obvious from the picture below that there's some sort of blockage. The wax piled over Soren's carved name and completely avoided Corvid's. We concluded that Soren has some sort of emotional or physical blockage. We will be doing a cleanse to clear this energy away.

What You'd Need

1 green candle

A pinch of:

Spearmint

Mugwort

Bay leaf

Cinnamon essential oil

Vessel (clam shell again)

Malachite (or Tiger's Eye)

Something with a fine point to carve the candle

We used the same format of the last spell, using 3 herbs and an oil. It's simple, effective, and doesn't overcrowd the spell. With the way that this candle burnt down, it actually created a smaller candle in the shell which we were able to burn again later.

The beautiful strawberry full moon this evening.

The two of us decided to go on a nighttime drive to clear our heads and we were blessed by Selene and able to see the moon through the cloud coverage. We were also fortunate enough to see fireflies on the back roads we drove through after not seeing any in our area for many years.
